Susan Lucci Offered, "Basically The Same Salary She Currently Has at ABC" to Stay With All My Children!

Prospect Park is continuing to show they're playing for keeps. According to Deadline the production company has made daytime soap opera's biggest name Susan Lucci a contract offer essentially equitable to what she currently makes at ABC, to continue with All My Children as it moves online and to other platforms. Lucci is reportedly mulling over the fantastic offer. Looks like the ball is in La Lucci's court!

AMC isn't AMC without Susan Lucci, so if she doesn't stay on the ship, I fear it really will sink.

This is great. I hope she signs on, but what I am really looking forward to is if there is a new EP.

I hope she stays along with Kendall, Greenlee, David, Bianca, Marrissa, etc........I can't wait if she takes the deal the rest will follow. AMC is really good right now to they need to keep Agnes Nixon to for creative ideas.

Just because Susan is being offered 'basically' her salary (this is her original salary or the pay cut she took when ABC Daytime moved them to Los Angeles knowing the show would be cancelled) does not mean that everyone else will be offered decent salaries. What does this really mean?

I like the current characters and could care less about returns. I am newer viewer so the oldies mean nothing to me. I do prefer Griffin to Zack. I find Zach boring. I will duck now. I think he is a goodlooking man but I also find him boring so I am disappointed that Kendall will not be with Griffin in future. At least it looks likes that to me. Same for Tad and Cara. I got a kick out of the dialog David had with Cara. It was almost mocking me for what Iwish were going to happen. I am sure there are fans on both side of the fence on the two pairings.

That the offer PP made is the same she currently makes at ABC

I am very interested in seeing who will make up the webAMC cast. With two heavy hitters, Debbi Morgan and JAcob Young, departing the soap, I hope we do get some veteran characters to make the move. I do not mind most of the newer characters on AMC, but of course, I'd take Brooke and Adam over all of them. BTW, I think AMC could recast JR..not Angie..but JR would be possible.

How can you spell Zach's name wrong and then, four words later, spell it right? (head shaking) Wink

The wording of this has me suspicious once again. As bluelittlegirl points out, she's at a significantly reduced salary. It also says absolutely nothing about the perks and benefits she might have in her current contract. They could say, 'We'll pay you the same, but you have to work everyday!', which is a lot more work than she does now. It's not all about the Benjamins!

If They pay her the same per episode she gets now, but she works more she will end up making more

As far as saying what the contract actually entails, I dont expect to hear any of that and it shouldnt matter to US The FANS. If Susan and other actors are finbe with their offers and sign on, thats good enough for me

What I'm saying, appleridge, is that we don't know whether she'll be fine with the offer, because we don't know what she's LOSING in the deal beyond the $$$s. And we don't know whether she's getting paid per episode or an annual amount. I doubt someone of her stature gets paid by the amount she works.

Yes But If The Offer is the same as she currently gets as it is said it is. Then its up to Susan and Fans dont need to know whats in her contract. I think fans asking for actor contract details is a little too much

"Basically the Same Salary" can mean ANYTHING! I'm not asking for details of her contract, I am just saying there is a lot that is NOT being said here. Regardless of whether the salary stays the same, there are endless possibilities of what she could lose in the deal from her current contract to the one she will be offered. I think we should just think realistically before everyone starts ejaculating all over this thread.

Well Like I said right now its all On Susan. If its Good for her she will stay on. If not, then she will go. Its that simple.

Also IMHO some that still fear the online deal may be looking for any sign that its not up to snuff so now they are disecting what Basically the same Salary as at ABC means

Just be glad they want Susan On AMC and now its up to Susan. As Jamey said, Ball is in her court

Im not saying you did, sorry if it came across that way & Its not just stuff I see here but other places as well

Lets be happy that PP is finally rolling with this and a proposal is out. Lucci has an offer which means the unions have signed off cause without that no offer could be made

So lets give Susan time to figure out what shes gonna do

No problem. I'm making all my comments with smileyfaces implied. Smile The thing is...from what she has said in the past, she wants to live in New York, and if she has to work everyday (and I concede I am being hypothetical), she won't be able to do that. So we need to look beyond the carefully chosen words about her getting the same amount of money. When she took that pay cut a while back, she reportedly got some other perks to make that worthwhile. Saying she is now being offered the same amount means nothing if those enticements aren't there, too. I'm not saying the deal is dead. I'm saying we don't have enough information from this story to warrant being any more or less optimistic than we were before it was posted.

Also, I disagree that an offer could only be made once a union signs off on it. It happens the other way around all the time. Unions frequently step in AFTER an offer has been made.

Prospect Park Told The casts of both shows that because TV to Web has never been done before and since they needed to work out Minimums and health and pensions, That PP could not make contract offers until Union deals were set

So by making this offer to Lucci signifies that the unions are backing this

Susan belongs on the tv, NOT the internet! She has many tv years in her before she reduces herself to go to an online soap.

LET'S BE REAL CAUSE I'M KEEPING IT REAL!

Bah Humbug ... Zach is a much stronger character. That other dude - bad lisp and all - is weak, really weak. Get rid of him n the new Marissa.
