Okay Ken Corday, this time I believe you're actually about to refocus Days of Our Lives on the core elements of romance, family and intrigue that made it my favorite sudser for so many years. I just watched the September 2011 promo and I have CHILLS!
From Jack Deveraux's (Matt Ashford) literally sweet reveal to Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), to the returns of John (Drake Hogestyn), Marlena (Deidre Hall), Austin (Patrick Muldoon) and Carrie (Christie Clark), to a very romantic proposal for the show's current tentpole couple Victor and Maggie (John Aniston and Suzanne Rogers), the promo revealed a Salem that for the first time in a long, long, long (Did I mention long?) time I cannot wait to visit. I am glad for Days and i hope it does gets better glad to see that John/Marlena and Jack are back but i could live with out seeing Austin and Carrie but i guess it won't matter since i won't be watching.

ive watched this 3 times so far its way better than what ive seen since Alice Horton's funeral..so im sooo excited...however vivian is missing
and i wonder why marlena hasnt spoken in the preview...maybe Deidre Hall's paid by the lines she has and dosent have much lol just kidding.

Ok what's "spectacular" about this again. I like seeing the 'old' faces but where is the story again John is arrested and a new wing is opened in the Horton's honor oh .... ok. I can't wait lol. They still don't peak my interest and I watched Days for decade' s the nightime Hope story chased me away for good. I appreciate them bringing the 'old' cast members back but it may be a little to late.

Oh my goodness! This looks FABULOUS. I even sent the link to family members who have long given up on DAYS in hopes they give it a shot come September. I am cautious because putting faith in DAYS has hurt me before. Oh, who I am kidding? I am there come September 26!
Only gripe: Faux-Roman being there. He ruins every thing.

Looking forward to this September simply because it will refocus the show on characters I CARE about! A few tears of happiness came to my heart knowing that there is a square being dedicated to Tom and Alice Horton. It's honoring history to which I'm happy about. And if the writing is anything like Jack's entrance, then it suggests some comedic elements for Jack and Matthew Ashford plays it wonderfully. Happy to see Carrie back in town (but is it me or has Patrick Muldoon aged not too well? I get that there was an age difference when they dated back in the day but after years of Austin Peck I kind of let that slip away and now that Patrick is back in the role, it's more pronounced again.). And of course Marlena. I love Hope, Jenn, Maggie and Julie but I'm sorry, Marlena is Days' biggest star. Happy to see her back and lighting up our screens again! To SEPTEMBER!

Wow! This looks really, REALLY great! I watched DAYS for a little bit back in the 90's and really enjoyed it. Tried watching it when they brought Vivian back, but just could not take it. However, I may have to make this my go to soap now. It looks awesome.
How fantastic would it be if NBC revitalized the daytime soap? Honestly they really have the best opportunity right now to seize this moment and run with it. With AMC and OLTL (and possibly GH soon) going off the air, create two brand new modern soaps that will hopefully get those audiences to flock to NBC. Would even love a DAYS spin-off...Mmmm.....Come on NBC, you can do this!

Although it is good to see everyone back and seems like the first episode is jam packed, I am most excited about the way the show looks. The distinct lack of purple paint is a nice change of pace! The set looks great. I am sure we will be seeing it alot. The lighting and the overall glossy look of the show is terrific. Looks more polished and film like. Days has been so flat looking and unattended set wise for so long. It is good to see that it is willing to expend some moolah to fix that. I hope they don't use up all their story in one day though. It would be nice to have many many good days in the future. One thing I am not sure of is EJ for mayor? LOL well why not the crime lords have been running Salem for years. Why not make it official!
