HOT DAMN! All My Children is on a roll with its guest star returns. On the day that Josh Duhamel returns as Leo du Pres, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to Pine Valley before AMC ends its ABC run.
"I have no idea what I'm doing or who I'm playing," she says. "I told them I don't want to be Kendall; that's Alicia's [Minshew] role now. She has made that beyond her own. She's amazing. I just wanted to be a part of it. I said I would be a patron in a bar, I don't care. I can come down from the attic with Bobby Martin; I can be his ski bunny wife."

As long as she gets scenes with Susan Lucci, Alicia Minshew and Rebecca Budig, I don't care how they bring her back. I hope she and Susan have mended fences since the 90s.
I am glad to see that Alicia Minshew won't be getting the Trevor St. John treatment. Sarah is right, ALICIA is Kendall now. I always knew that Sarah had too much class to try to come back and take another actresses job.

Why are the people writing these articles acting like this is the most shocking news in the history of soaps? OMFG!
We all know she will be on 1 or 2 episodes tops like Leo.
This is just a thank you return for jump starting her career like most of the other returnees that we won't see very long.
I love SMG but this won't be any great story.

alstonboy if SMG wanted this job and the Kendall role back full time then Alicia would definitely get the TSJ treatment.
SMG is 5 times the actor that Alicia is.
SMG scenes were always great. Kendall scenes are mostly snoozefest crap with Zach and Ryan.

I respect your opinion, but I like Alicia Minshew as Kendall.
I enjoyed Sarah back when Kendall was a hell on wheels teenager, but I feel the character has evolved over the years, and Alicia has captured that evolution greatly.

I have amazing respect for Sarah Michelle Geller being very clear that Kendall is Alicia Minshew’s character now. As much as I loved Sarah’s Kendall, I distinctly remember liking Alicia since her first day onscreen. To each their own but I find some of the anti-Alicia comments to be quite unfortunate. I truly don’t believe she deserves that.

@alstonboy4315: We gonna have to disagree on this one. Sarah is to Kendell what Roger is to Todd. There are ticks and special personality traits the character of Kendall should always have, just like Susan does as Erica. Alicia just doesn't do it for me. She doesn't spell KENDALL the way Sarah does. She's just Kendall. The magic is not there with Alicia. She's just holding up in the role. Sarah has that AMC soap actress quality that let you know it was the 'children. Alicia doesn't possess that special trait that makes an actress in daytime go kaboom! She doesn't have that YOU WILL REMEMBER ME quality to her. That's why I like Sarah. And that is what Sarah possesses.
Sarah makes you stand up and pay attention. Alicia is just one of the bunch. She's not bad... but if you had your choice between powerhouse and just "she works in the role." Which will you choose?
