One Life to Live Recap: The Chronicles of Life and Death
Jessica: This is my life, not yours, and I’m claiming it!
Ford and Tess revel in their afterglow, because love makes it so much better, until Tess gripes about Ford’s “brat.” Amused, he points out that the brat is hers as well, and she sheepishly shrugs. He worries about the felonies he committed in liberating her from St. Ann’s, but she knows he’s smart enough to figure things out. Tess believes Cutter is the answer to their problems, so Ford decides to confront him.
Tess thinks she survived letting her guard down with Ford until she’s faced with Jessica in the mirror. Jessica admits to willingly letting out Tess, but she claims to have been fighting back for a while now. Tess whines that it’s her turn, but Jessica reminds her she’s not a whole person. She can try to love Jessica’s children, but Jessica simply does (difficult to swallow given that she allowed a homicidal alter to run rampant and put her children in danger.) When Jessica has concern for Brody, Tess tries to suppress her by taunting Jessica with Natalie and Brody’s closeness. Jessica dismisses the “lies,” and exerts her control to reclaim her life.
Possible regrets and Liam’s crying hamper Natalie and Brody’s afterglow. They cuddle with Liam and coo over his adorable smiles. They decide that they’ve managed an unexpected but genuine little family, and have no regrets. John and Jessica are out of the picture, so what they have is “good, real, and enough.” While Brody puts Liam back to bed, Natalie brushes her hair, looking haunted. Brody returns, and taken with her beauty, leads her back to bed. Later, Natalie decides to visit her father, and Brody promises to wait for her. Their goodbye kiss turns passionate right as Jessica walks through the door, stunned.
Cutter interrupts Vimal giving Rama an orgasmic foot massage. A suspicious Vimal demands to know the real reason Cutter allowed Rama to stay, and Cutter eventually claims it was because he isn’t callous enough to evict a pregnant woman.
Rama opens the door to Cristian, who can’t stop thinking about their kiss. He pulls her into another one, but they’re busted by Vimal. Rama covers by slapping Cris and accusing him of taking advantage of her, and being a saint, Cris allows her claim to stand. Vimal leaves to take a phone call, as Ford arrives to speak to Cutter.
In the living room, Ford asks Cutter to divorce Tess. Outside, Rama apologizes to Cris, but he suggests she figure out what’s fueling all of her unsavory actions. Back inside, she’s panicked to find out from Vimal that his parents are coming for a long visit.
Bo encourages Nora to get sleep until they’re interrupted by Destiny yelling for help. They enter Matthew’s room to find his eyes open. They want to believe this means something, but fear more heartbreak. In a strange turn of character, Dr. Doom admits there’s hope. She unsuccessfully tries to elicit further responses, so Nora steps in and speaks lovingly to her son until he visibly squeezes her hand. In the hall, a beaming Nora assures Destiny that Matthew is on the mend. Shaun is thrilled, and nearly bouncing, Bo pulls him into a bear hug. Later, Dr. Doom worries Bo and Nora when she determines Matthew may recover more, or go no further, but she’s not ruling out the former. Celebratory laughs and sighs of relief ensue.
Dr. Heartless bluntly tells Rex that it was too late to save Gigi, and Rex adamantly refuses to believe him. Roxy rushes to her son, as he blurts that Gigi is brain dead. Remembering Matthew, he demands that Dr. Heartless perform the more comprehensive test, but Rex is crushed when the doctor reveals it’s already been done and was conclusive; Gigi is unequivocally beyond hope. Roxy tries to reason with Rex, but he demands to be left alone with his “wife.”
Todd, in effectively scary mode, demands Jack tell him everything. Jack wanted to “teach Shane a lesson” for the barbell incident by leaving him in the house overnight, consequences be damned. Tea returns, and all three decide they need to determine the seriousness of Gigi’s condition. Tea calls Roxy, who updates Tea until she’s overcome by tears. Shaken, Tea delivers the bad news: Gigi isn’t likely to recover. Jack freaks, but he thinks he’s blameless because Gigi wasn’t his target and he was clueless about the generator. Tea slaps him with more bad news: he faces kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, and potentially, murder charges.
In denial, Rex sobs at Gigi’s bedside, begging her to wake up and marry him. He remembers impressing her at a baseball game just to see her smile when they were teens, and he kicks himself for ever walking away. Rex crawls into bed with Gigi, and when Dr. Heartless sees this tragic scene, he decides it “must stop.” Roxy blasts him before going in to support Rex. She tries to be realistic, but Rex refuses to listen. When Roxy cries that no amount of love can bring Gigi back, Rex finally succumbs and collapses in Roxy’s arms.

Jessica walking in on Natalie and Brody in bed was a total flashback to when Viki caught Clint and Tina in bed. I am going to miss this show.

WOW WOW WOW! Why the fuck is this show getting canceled? Makes NO sense at all to me!
I am in tears over Gigi's death! Rex and Roxy both were absolutely amazing today! Such great scenes and so moving. This is gonna cause for so much great drama in the next few months. Clint will probably get Gigi's heart and slowly begin to love Rex as a song, Rex will do everything he can to send that bastard Jack to jail. Just such great drama!
So happy to hear that Jessica is back. Let's forget Tess and Ford every happened...pretty please? Loved it when she walked in on Natalie and Brody. I really want Natalie back with John and I think once it comes out that Liam is actually John's, they will get back together. It'll probably be harder for Jessica and Brody to get back together but I hope they do. Although Brody kind of pissed me off today with his attitude about being "in love" with his ex's sister. Kind of a douchey thing to do buddy.
As useless as her character may be, I really like Rama. She's okay with Cristian, but since he's leaving early I wonder if she will leave as well. I'm just happy that this show is getting more diverse by creating characters of Indian descent. How great would that be if Vimal's parents came on the scene and his dad was some shady businessman to rival Clint and his mom was some monster-in-law hell bent on controlling Rama and finding out about her and Cristian ALA Maria/Cord/Tina. However, since this show is ending in January, it's a shame they probably won't be about to explore the Patel family.
I love love love how Ford called Cutter a sceez today. Really Ford? Really? That's the pot calling the kettle black honey. Just keep your shirt off and walk around the background every few scenes, that's all we like you for
This continues to get better and better and by some spoilers I've read, it's only gonna get better...here's hoping that stupid show replacing AMC fails and ABC decides to continue OLTL, but that's just hopefulness talking.

One Life to Live in on fire right now! How can the powers that be even think about canceling the show....Oh, I forgot, the powers that be want some more BORING, CHEAP talk to fill the airwaves in the afternoon. Guess what ABC, I will not be watching your network. I have already prepared for the ABC soaps going dark by starting to watch Young and the Restless, for the first time ever, so I have my little escapism each day upon toiling at work. CBS should thank ABC for sending viewers in droves to their soaps come September and January.

I loved Jessica walking in on Natalie and Brody. The sex scenes were hot between N & B, as well as Tess and Ford. I will miss Gigi and I am so sad Rex lost the love of his life and SHane lost his mother. Jack Manning better pay!

I can't believe I'm typing this, but after this week's shows, I want Brody gone. His scenes with Natalie were disgusting. Almost as bad as the Tess/Ford scenes. Yes, we want to see love on daytime, but not the kind that makes your skin crawl and stomach turn.

I love Nat and Brody! I wish they would become a couple, but that's probably not gonna happen now.
JPL was so amazing yesterday, along with IK. Those scenes tugged at my heart strings. If Jack gets away with this I will be pissed!
Im not happy to see Jess back. I dont like her or her many alters. I'd rather just see her gone off my tv.

Really loving the story, although I feel for Gigi's fans that she isn't getting a happy ending. So happy that Matthew lives. So happy.

This episode was on fire! I am beyond thrilled that Jess is back, and I am PRAYING TO GOD that just because she is hurt by Brody and that awful sister of hers that she does not turn to Ford as some kind of "you hurt me, but they hurt me worse" bullspit! They all hurt her crazy self, so if she cannot forgive Brody, she needs to be alone with her kids for a while. Ford is NOT a viable alternative for her, and I will keep saying it until I am blue in the face.
I will not even respond to Ford calling Cutter whatever he did. The utter hypocrisy and ridiculousness of it says all that needs to be said. UGH!
I loved everything with Todd, Jack, and Tea. I cannot totally hate Jack because I am such a Todd fan, but Jack needs to pay. He did not mean to kill Gigi, but what he had planned Shane could have been equally dangerous and he knew that. I really want to know what has made Jack so unrelentingly cruel. He may not have been the direct cause of Gigi's death, but I am pretty sure placing so many things into action would be pretty devastating to his case.
I was pretty blown away with the Gigi stuff. I knew about the casting stuff, but I still thought they would not actually kill her. Rex and Roxy were pretty heartbreaking, and I cannot even imagine what this will do to Shane.
Christian is better than going after some married woman. I did love Vimal trying to fight the former boxer Christian.
Matthew getting better is just full of win.
It is a crime this show is being taken from us.

I loved that Brody blames Jessica today because I have been thinking the same things. Jess has allowed her altars to take over. They are a part of her. I want them all gone. Can Jessica just grow up and face life?

Yep, i was THA-RILLED to see Brody tell that weak ass Jessica about herself(and I also completely agree with what Jamey said on one of the podcasts recently--Tess should be the dominant personality in that body, not weak sauce Jess). If TPTB have a brain among them, they'll keep Brody and Natalie(and P.S., I'm completely gay, but how hot is Melissa Archer?) together even after John finds out Liam is his.
As for Gigi dying, I have to say that while many love to clown on John-Paul Lavoisier on a daily basis, that man has been unbelievably good these last few eps(and just to reiterate another poster's comments, Ilene Kristen is GOLDEN no matter when she's on but damn if she didn't bring the dramatic fire on yesterday's ep; memo to the Academy--this is the epitomy of a true supporting performance, not someone who's on four out of every five episodes in a leading role and doesn't have the rocks to submit themselves in leading). And while I'm not Farah Fath's biggest fan by any remote stretch(I've leveled more criticism at her "talent" than anyone else on OLTL with the possible exception of nuJack)she's been growing on me the last few months so I'll almost be sad to see her go. Almost.
Speaking of going, why the F!&# are Aubrey and Cutter still on my screen? And what the hell secret does that damn Rama have on Cutter? Get on with it people so someone we care about can be given screen time.

I'm sorry, I know Jessica is going to act the victim about her DID and how everyone did her wrong, but yeah, she's to blame also. Besides, sisters sleeping with each others boyfriends/exes/fiancees is all good soapy fun!

I love this show. Gigi was trending on twitter again today.
I actually cheered when TSJTodd actually Jacked up Jack. That kid... I swear... I really try to love the offspring of my favorite couples, but Jack's ass should've been sent to a military school on another continent the moment he showed up acting like a total ass****. Truly... I just... I can't with him, I just cant...
I BAWLED when Roxy was talking to Rex and telling him that Gigi wasn't coming back. GAWD, those scenes were heartbreaking! I honestly didn't think I would be this affected given my feelings on them since day one, but... WOW! They were sad, but a good sad, if that makes sense. I had a good cry.
Between Dr. Heartless and Matt's. Dr. KillGood, both who think it's, like, wrong to let family members grieve over loved ones, would ANYONE want to stay in the Llanview hospital???
This pretty much sums up my feelings too!

Friday, June 17: I was crying and yelling at the screen for most of the show in other words: soap heaven.
I love Brody and loved him challenging Jessica on allowing Tess free reign. I don't agree that there is any reason for Brody to sleep with Natalie other than the "get it while it's hot" belt around her waist but I can imagine Brody's frustration with the Tess Mess. I don't like either Rama or Aubrey but I could imagine a scenario where either befriended Brody leading into a romantic or sexual relationship. It would have been better than a second spin on the Natcoaster. I wish that Jessica hadn't used Tess at all but if we had to have Tess or more like Ron C. had to have Tess, I wish there had been much less of her. In one episode Jessica has been more interesting that Tess' entire run. Tess and Bess should be a part of Jessica when integrated but as written by Ron C. they are usually written as stunts. I loved that Jessica's immediate reaction was to blame Natalie who Tess hates because it felt like a little bit of Tess remained and a little bit of Tess is all I can take. I even liked Aubrey's scene with her desperately holding on to Ryder and by extension Joey. Of course it helped that poor Bree was allowed out of the children's closet however briefly.
How good was today's episode: I felt bad about Gigi, a character I have never liked but I was a single mother to my firstborn and the bond is so strong that I can't imagine how Gigi felt in her last moments knowing how Shane would feel, though the fact that she spent time listening to that damn tape rather than naming her killer makes me want to spit nails or write a nasty letter to Ron C.: how many ------- characters have to be sacrificed for a pairing that does not work: Jolie.
Max was confused I think by the end of the episode when I was yelling at Natalie to just stop talking. Even as a stay at home mom I love my weekends but this weekend I will be waiting for Monday's episode no matter what else I am doing. I am going to use this space to apologize to Max ahead of time.

Well, Jessica had no problems dealing with Brody/Natalie today which explains that she can handle herself and doesn't need the alters.
Brody/Natalie are hot! I want John and Ford to lose it all, but that is not going to happen. I loved Brody telling Jessica off for letting out her sleazy alters.
Natalie hugging Rexx at the end of the show and telling him that a woman was brain dead with a matching heart for Clint was gut wrenching!
Poor Shane. Shane and Matthew are the ones that I felt for the most this week.
If the court refused to give Natalie custody of Ryder since she lived at Llanfair with Viki and her alters, then how can Joey and Aubrey live at Llanfair with Ryder?
Gigi raised Shane on her own and now it looks like Rexx will have to step up and become a single parent.
What IS Cutter's secret? Did he kill the real Aubrey Wentworth? Is Aubrey a transvestite who took on the name Cutter?

Man OLTL is ON FIRE!! These episodes are SO good, but at the same time they make me so sad to know that in a few months they'll be no more. I thought Brody was a huge douche talking to Jessica like that, she has a mental illness and he just gave up on her like that and started banging her sister, if it was another chick, it wouldn't be so bad but her sister, my goodness, and Natalie is just as trashy as she was when she first came on the show. Someone set Jack's sociopathic self on the Ford brothers, I wish Ford could be charged with rape or something like that. Cutter and Rama and getting tiresome. I don't want Rama paired with Cristian. Deep Deep down I'm wishing that Cristian and Jess will be each others end game, but I doubt that'll happen

As much as I enjoy Rex's character, I honestly don't think he is the best actor on daytime......not by far.
Shane was awesome. The kid can act!!
Mathew wakes up a different person. Let's see, we have seen the 'nice' Matthew, we have seen the 'Clint' version, I wonder just how he is going to wake up as??

I haven't watched the show in two weeks but am stoked to hear that Farah Fath is gone.
Will her "beard" Jon-Paul Lavoisier make all those weird faces at her funeral? I bet he will. Guy's become a douche over the past couple of years.
