Uh Oh: Paris Hilton Flips Out Backstage After Intense Interview On The View
Paris vs. Babs. The New York Post is reporting Paris Hilton wasn't thrilled by the questions she received this past Wednesday on The View. The celebutante appeared on the talk show to promote her new "reality" series, The World According to Paris. According to the paper, Hilton was not amused when Barbara Walters had her up against the ropes about the sincerity of Hilton's philanthropic endeavors. Hilton was also reportedly miffed that Walters took offense to Hilton griping about having to do court-appointed community service, stemming from her 2010 drug arrest.
According to the paper, Hilton and her father ripped into a View producer off-camera following the segment. While the Hiltons' rep declined to comment, a rep for The View admitted the incident took place. Check out what allegedly got Paris and Pops hot at the 2.04 minute mark below!

Great, is this more of the crap we have to look forward to with the other three hours of afternoon TV about to be freed up? Our nation has become a nation of simpletons, we need to raise our standards back up and fight against being fed this garbage. This truly is the dumbing of America and its sad.

Paris and Kathy Hilton are two fake, insincere, hypocritical BEEYOTCHES. Both of them deserve to be put on FULL blast. I guess she's taking tips from Chris Brown?? When your back is against the wall, have a hissy fit?? Sounds like she's trying to get publicity for her new reality show, which has ABYSMAL ratings!! Media heffas like her make me get on my damn nerves!!!! She has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of value to offer society. I wish she'd go back to doing whatever the heck she was going before this new reality show came out, which I'm guessing would be absolutely nothing???
It's a shame that trash like Paris Hilton and Snooki can get reality TV shows and become millionaires in the process while all the soaps are dying! A damn shame. I guess this really is the future of American television. In which case, I guess I'd better buy an E-reader or learn needlepoint. If this revolution is gonna be televised, I'm gonna have to get rid of my TV set!!!

Paris Hilton is spoiled rich trash that's it she's a phoney and I won't spend any time watching her reality. I remember the rap she gave when she got busted and I don't believe for one minute she was joking and having fun by saying "the prison people" which she is one. I see the experience didn't humble her she's as arrogant as ever.

i was mortified after watching this interview. The View should be ASHAMED of themselves. They didn't let Paris speak. I sent that interview to friends with the caption of the Worst interview ever made. Shameful. I'm glad Hilton blasted the View producers. They all think they are the gold standard and walk around high and mighty. That interview was tricky- shameful.
In my opinion- The View is the absolute worst program on television. But I can't stop watching and yelling at it.

And shame on the View all over again for going to magazines and giving a comment confirming her meltdown. If they had a shed of professionalism they would have given no comment and not further thrown their "guest" to the wolves.

Babs needs to retire. babs is a shrew who always has to come out on top. she talks about Paris being low class. That interview was the Definition of low class.
Im sorry I know she was a pioneer in journalism but that doesnt give her the right to spit on others when there is no fire to put out.

Well, I guess Paris needed to pop off at SOMEONE....considering that a test pattern drew more viewers than the debut of Paris' new "reality" show....

I didn't see the episode. Reason?? I think Babs is sickening.
So I don't watch unless I know she won't be on.
As far as from what is being written, my take is this. Who hasn't done stupdid stuff in their past?? That aside, when The View or any other talk show invites a guest on their show, its like inviting someone to your home.
I would never put anyone in an uncomfortable position in my home, certainly not on National TV.
And NO I am NOT a Paris Hilton groupie!!!

Exactally JAQ It seems this year on the view they invite certain folk on there just to ridicule them. I dont remember them having the Kardashians on & then Berrating them for doing more reality shows.

DISAGREE, JAQ and Appleridge. When putting someone on a talk show, it is for promotion or interview, not "inviting them into your home." I don't always care for Barbara Walters, but I never got a sense of her berating or ridiculing Paris Hilton in this clip. I think she posed a tough question to Paris, and a very valid one. After Paris served her sentence, she claimed she wanted to do charity work and be a better person. What charity work has she done? I'm sure she probably has thrown money to several causes, but I'm not aware of it. What I am aware of is that she still leads the party-girl lifestyle, getting trashed in public or arrested for marijuana or cocaine possession. Barbara challenged her on her claims of "I've changed and I want people to see the real me." Paris could do so much more good with her money and self-promotion, but I have yet to see her really put her money where her mouth is. I don't feel the View ladies were putting her on the spot; they asked her the pertinent questions, which is what happens when you agree to be interviewed on national TV.

ThomHunt, thank you. You summed about what I was just about to write. Also, DaytimeFan0001, it's not that they didn't let Paris talk. Paris clammed up after her wittle-bitty feelings were hurt. I think it's hilarious that she says her reality show is all about who she REALLY is, yet she was completely unreal on The View. The REAL Paris only came out when she was backstage. I don't think Paris even knows how to be real. In her interview with that windbag, Piers Morgan, he kept referring to her as a "brand", and she went along with everything he said. A regular person would say, "I'm not a 'brand', I'm a human being", but that never seemed to occur to this idiot.

First of all, we can thank the Mighty Oprah for putting Paris back on TV! Just another show on OWN that I won't watch, I'd rather have the Discovery Health channel back than watch ANYTHING on OWN. While I'm certainly no fan of Paris or the Hiltons but they do alot of charity work but especially for Multiple Sclerosis, for which I'm personally grateful for!
Barbara Walters needs to hire Meredith Veira back and then RETIRE! I won't watch the show unless I know she's not going to be on! Period!

For me you dont bring on someone to promote something and then berate them like that. Babs could have not booked Paris if she didnt think she was doing right by herself. I think what Paris was saying is that this show unlike her others is more real. The simple life was scripted to a point cause they were given jobs to do.
Who cares if paris does 20 reality shows. its her life. For the most part since jail Paris has been laying low. It just came across as we didnt like the pilot we saw so we will berate u now.
Im glad the other four did have class enough not to do what Babs did. Babs has no class.

OK My turn!! I did not see what happened. If I really cared, I could download the episode.
As far as Paris stating she wants to do more charity work
yea, I don't see that happening either.
However, I would take it with a grain of salt & move on.
I wouldn't 'call her on it' unless she was a close friend in the privacy of my home. For that, Babs was most likely in the wrong. NO I did not see it, however Barbara Walters is a pain in the as on the show. This morning I watched the first 15 minutes. Only because I like Monday gossip.
Whoopi came out in a commencement gown on. Instead of the moment being about Whoopie, we had to hear about Barbara and all the commencements she has made.
Then on to Dr Korvackin. She was the only one who did all his interviews. So of course, she was the expert on him.
My point is, nobody had to call out Paris on her charity work. I think most people know, the only charity work Paris does is........
As far as disagreeing with my statement about inviting her into your home, that I will stand my ground on.
Talk shows invite GUESTS to appear. By us watching, they are in our homes.
I believe hosts should be a little more respectful of there guests. JMO
Now what is this about Oprah giving Paris a show on OWN??

First of all...Paris' show is on Oxygen, not OWN. Oprah is no longer involved with Oxygen.
After watching the clip, I think that Babs was well within her right to ask that. Paris was on the show publicizing a reality show that is 100% real, represents her life, etc. Paris has made public comments about wanting to change her life and do charity work...and the first episodes on her show convey her being mad about the effect that public service has on her shoes. All Babs wanted to know is why doesn't her show also reflect that side of her (I'm adding...if it is indeed real). Paris' answer is that the show has to be entertaining, which tells me as a viewer...it isn't real. Babs didn't berate her, but she did call Paris out about the show and what she is trying to convey because there is an obvious contradiction there. She wants reality...she got it.
Shouldn't an interviewer ask those questions? If not, then who?

Sorry appleridge, but I had to laugh aloud at the idea that Paris has been laying low since she's been in jail. According to imdb, since she was sprung from jail in June 2007, she's done Larry King Live, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Regis and Kelly, The View (3 times), Ellen DeGeneres (7 times), Craig Ferguson (5 times), Entertainment Tonight (23 times!!!), David Letterman (8 times), Jimmy Kimmel (3 times), Wendy Williams (twice), and dozens of other lesser known shows (several with her name in the title, so I'm assuming they're reality shows).
She's not just a whore, she's also a media whore! So if she gets asked an occasional awkward question, she has to roll with it. Look at all the free publicity all these shows have given her! The only reason I watched her on the Piers Morgan rebroadcast last night was because of my insomnia, and they weren't even halfway through the show when I groaned and said, "Oh come ON, Piers! How much longer can you go on sucking her dick!" It was embarrassing how much he was groveling before her. If Barbara asked a few tough questions to balance things out (and I watched it live...it wasn't that bad...), I say more power to her!

You can see how--in this context--I didn't see it the way you intended, though. How could anyone interpret this otherwise?

Paris Hilton surrounds herself with "Yes people" who worship the ground that she walks on and stands at her beck and call. She's not used to having to deal with REALITY or the TRUTH. That's why she hides, lies and tries to shift focus by playing the "dumb blonde" card. She needs to grow the hell up and start acting her age, as opposed to her shoe size, although from what I've heard there isn't much disparity in the two. She does have some big old clown feet!!!!!
And ANYONE who goes on a show like "The View" With women like Elizabeth Hasslebitch, Whoopi and Joy Behar, who we ALL know are not known for biting their tongues, you should expect to be asked questions that will probably make you uncomfortable. If you can't take the heat, don't agree to go on the show. Just that simple. Paris' publicist needs to teach her how to do more than how to do lame poses on the red carpet. He or she needs to teach her how to handle hard-nosed journalists who go for the jugular!!

So glad Walters acted like a journalist and not a fawning aide to a celebrity's publicist. Paris Hilton deserves to be grilled for all the lies she tells. Why go on TV to rehab your image after jail; and piously claim to have spent the freakishly short time you were there reading the Bible--yet not be able to quote a single line from that big book or articulate a single concept contained therein? It was blatant pandering ( I'm referring to her infamous Larry King interview), reeked of insincerity, and made her look dumber than usual, if that's possible.
She makes these fervent promises to work with women in prison to help them transition to productive lives; yet she derides "prison people". Is she schizophrenic or just a clueless hypocrite? She'll say whatever she thinks will keep her in the buying public's good graces; but takes offense when called out for her lies. There's a name for that sort of behavior; but I'll leave that to the psychologists to delineate.

Well then, if you're talking about getting in trouble with the law, then I guess you're ignoring her arrest for smoking marijuana at the FIFA World Cup in July 2010, or her arrest for marijuana possession two weeks later in Corsica. Or then there's her cocaine arrest in Vegas in August 2010.
Yes, I suppose by Paris Hilton standards (and those of her apologists), she's been virtually sqeaky clean. Why, she's practically Doris Day!
