The Revolution, Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition Producers Suspended From Biggest Loser!
By Jamey Giddens on June 02, 2011

It looks like J.D. Roth and Todd Nelson are going to have a lot more time to focus on the fat porn, er weight loss reality shows they're producing for The Mouse House. According to Deadline.com, Roth and Nelson's 3 Ball Productions has been suspended as co-producers of NBC's hit weight loss competition series The Biggest Loser.

According to Deadline.com, Roth and Nelson's 3 Ball Productions has been suspended as co-producers of NBC's hit weight loss competition series The Biggest Loser.
The suspension by Reveille comes not-so-ironically on the heels of the success of 3 Ball's "super obese" spectacle Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition which recently premiered on ABC. The production company is also helming essentially a daytime rip off of The Biggest Loser (minus the competition angle that actually makes TBL interesting) called The Revoultion, which, as previously reported, has been slated to replace ABC Daytime's most watched soap opera One Life to Live this January.
Wow. If we ever start liking our veggies on our own what ever will these guys do for a living?

ABC is in bad shape because of bad management all around. Nothing else to say. They rip off shows. Throw dramas on for one season and then cancel angering fans. They showcase Disney actors like the world needs to know all the Disney actors. Hire all Disney actors and stick them here and there even when not advantageous to shows. Cancel a soap who is #3 and best written to keep a mob infested soap with bad writing. So this headline does not surprise me. Just another rip off of a successful show from another network.

All Networks Rip Off Shows. I do Know JD From an Talk he gave was upset that The Revolution was replacing OLTL. He thought it was to be syndicated.

@Appleridge. Yeah, that's what he said when the news broke, then on 20/20 last week he cockily dismissed soaps, saying you can miss the shows for five years and the same stories are still going on.

Well, my childhood memories of JD have been smashed. He hosted Fun House, a Double Dare-esque kids game show. I even had the exercise VHS.

Eh, I usually have bad taste since I also liked Ryan Seacrest when he hosted Cick. Looking at the clip, I have absolutely no idea why.

Anyways, I am no longfer a fan of JD. I don't currently watch weight loss shows and I don't expect I ever will. ABC is really at the forefront of programming. What is this, 2005?

pot calling kettle.... soaps have never quite been that slow lol. five years will create alot of stories under the bridge however how many unique stories can one mine from a single topic? weight loss. Uhm lets see eat better excersize more take meds if neccessary..... that is the total sum of the basic premise.... these shows will depend strongly on personalities and sob stories. which by the way is exactly what soaps depend upon. The difference is? oh yeah 40 years of history.....

I find weight loss shows to be particularly revolting; they might as well call the show, The Revulsion.
