This actually doesn't surprise me, after hearing hear on Rosie O'Donnell's radio show a few weeks ago. I'm guessing her comments weren't appreciated by the ABC higher-ups. I also wouldn't be surprised if we hear down the road that this wasn't entirely a health concern. (Yes, I'm as cynical as ever.)

This is bull to the mudableeping $HIT!!! No, OLTL can NOT go off the air without Dorian/Robin Strasser. I am starting to lose sympathy for OLTL with all the dumb ass moves they've been making lately. And I don't believe for ONE second that she's leaving of her own will. This has Frons' STANK all over it. Shady mudablupper!!!

Damn, I hope she is not ill with anything serious...And I do think that maybe Frons and the ghouls at ABCD are forcing her out. OLTL ending without Dorian Lord pretty much means that I may not be watching the end.

BTW, OLTL SUCKS! The show is HORRIBLE lately, I am not sure what Regan and Jillian are watching, because the show I see is god awful. Sorry, but small glimpses of Roger Howarth is not enough to make me care anymore about the show.

Robin Is Having Back surgery I Think She wanted to wait Til ILTL was done but must not be able to

Even before Robin announced this, I was hoping that before the show ends, that Anthony Call would come back to share scenes with Robin as Herb and Dorian. I know the whole David thing is campy fun for many people, but Herb & Dorian had such a multi-layered adult relationship and such great acting chemistry. I hope the show brings him back for even a short-term arc with Dorian.

NOOOOOOOOOOO Robin is my FAVORITE character on the show! This is very disappointing, but what can be done?? Hopefully she can tape some scenes in advance that could be aired on the final episode....That would work for me!

Since she was so quick to call foul when all the $hit hit the fan with the cancellation, I seriously doubt she would have tweeted a lie about a health concern. If not for the cancellation, I am sure she would have taken a leave and then come back good as new. She probably just cannot wait until Jan.
I hope she's okay and I will miss her!

I am starting to lose patience with this show. I hate the destruction of Marty just when I think it can't get worse they come up with something new. Wes, this stupid imposter story and Matt being killed to save Clint. I dont believe RS is leaving on her own and guess who was in NYC yesterday? Frons! She is being punished for speaking out against cancellation.

This is such a crying shame. Sincerely hope RS will be ok. It's not right that OLTL's swan song won't include Dorian and Marty. I hope other historically crucial characters will be brought back to usher OLTL off the air.

Guys she said on her hotline around the time of cancellation she needed Back Surgery. She thought she could wait til the show finished filming. I Guess Not. Robin is not Lying. This is not a punishment by ABC. RS is doing this for her health

That's sad that she won't be part of the OLTL finale, but if she can't participate because of her health then by ALL means her health takes precedence. I wish her the best in life and in health. She is an asset to the daytime community and hopefully she pops up on the TV again once OLTL wraps!

This is SUCH a shame. I hope she gets well soon. As someone who has undergone some back problems this year, I know it ain't fun. Hopefully, though, she'll be able to squeeze in a day or two of filming right at the very end. The show just can't end any way other than with Viki and Dorian. "Oh, Dorian, the past is the past! Erika Slezak had back surgery and was out for 2 months. The show doesn't stop production until November. Sorry, the whole thing sounds fishy. She could leave, recover and come back with time to spare.

So much for my wish for Dorian and Vicki to end the show together, I hope Robin feels better soon, and I hope she wasn't forced out.

I love to indulge in Fronsian conspiracy theories, but I really don't think Robin Strasser of all people wouldn't break it down if she was really being pushed out.

No, but can anyone blame her for soaking ABC for all the worker's compensation she can squeeze?

I didn't think the news about OLTL could get any worse but it just did. How can they end the show properly with no Dorian?

I'm not happy about this and hope that Strasser will be able to return to play a large role in the final weeks of the show.

I, like many other posters, first thought she may have been pushed out due to her outspokenness. But, as others said, she likely would not lie about something like that. Reading other posts about her need for back surgery got me to thinking.

Strasser may be taking advantage of having full medical coverage, disability insurance, and/or sick time, things that might not be there or be there to a lesser degree after the show stops production. She may have done some ciphering and figured out it was in her best interests to have the surgery sooner rather than later.

I wish her the best. Hope she continues to tweet as she recovers.

They should let her pre-tape scenes that they could splice into the final shows. OLTL should end with Viki and Dorian. Bummer.

It sucks to the extreme that Dorian won't be there at the very end but after everything RS has given this show over the decades and how she's been treated by TPTB at times, she has to think of her health first. I wish her all the best.
