Is Matt Ashford Returning to DAYS as Jack?!

Twitter and message boards are abuzz this morning with news of Matthew Ashford reportedly announcing via Facebook he's returning to Days of Our Lives as Jack Deveraux. While the sheer thought of one of the best comic supercouples in the history of daytime television, Jack and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), being reunited in Salem is enough to totally get me reinvested in what was once my fave sudser, I will have to wait for confirmation before I dance a jig, considering all the Twitter and Facebook fakeouts people have been pulling lately.

I will only get excited if Jack returns to Salem with his husband, Frankie. The only good thing about Jack's last return was his off the charts chemistry with Frankie. I am being serious. Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves no longer have that spark and it was evident the last time they were on together. Fans will clamor for Ashford's return but then be disappointed when Jack and Jennifer will be relegated to the background like Adrienne and Justin.

OMFG YESSSSSS!!!! Days made such a HUUUUGE mistake bringing back Jennifer ALONE and trying to pair her with that loser Daniel. I'm glad her soulmate Jack is returning. Jackiffer reunion baby, yeaaaaaaah!!!

Reuniting the supercouples is a step in the right direction for Days. Characters like Jennifer/Jack and Bo/Hope are so beyond love triangles. Married couples can still have dynamic, interesting, frontburner stories without committing adultery or breaking up.

SOD just confirmed that this is true!!!!!! I am so happy and I don't agree with soapbaby at all about Jack/Jenn not having chemistry. They always have and always will, it is the writing that was bad. That is what scares me with the return again, Dena Higley is a terrible writer and she is just going to ruin this return again. I would almost rather this news be that DENA HIGLEY WAS FIRED!

It's too bad they wasted the doppelganger story on Rafe because I would have LOVED for it to turn out that Daniel was really Peter Blake with plastic surgery, with the real Daniel locked in the DiMera basement. Then Jack could return to the fold. In a climactic turn of events, Jenn has to shoot Peter to save herself but accidentally shoots Daniel because she can't tell the difference, killing him. Jack and Jennifer then reunite.
