Could Clint Get Matthew's Heart on OLTL?
DAMN! One Life to Live’s Bo (Robert S. Woods) and Nora (Hillary B. Smith) can’t catch a break. TV Guide’s Michael Logan reveals, in his new interview with Woods and Smith, that “On May 23, Matthew will collapse and, later, he's diagnosed as being very nearly brain-dead. Then comes word that Bo's brother Clint (Jerry verDorn) needs a new heart or he will die. You can see where this plot might go.”
During the interview with Woods and Smith, he asks the popular actors to weigh in on the decisions facing their characters.
TV Guide Magazine: And then, suddenly, both Matthew and Clint are dying.Smith: Things get so bad that Bo and Nora actually set aside the murder — their minds just can't handle that much. Decisions need to be made about Matthew. They're told he has minimal brain activity just as Clint's condition is suddenly worse. They're being jerked around from one tragedy to another. It's too, too much. Matthew's getting worse. Clint's getting worse. All they need now is a tornado to hit Llanview.
Woods: And Bo has horrible guilt, feeling responsible for causing Clint's heart attack. But at the same time, Bo wants him behind bars, paying for what he's done. Yet here's Clint barely fighting for his life. It's pretty complicated stuff.

He's not a Ford. He's not Rex. He's not one of Todd's kids. Therefore, he's worthless to the show.
This is also another way for writers/producers to try to show us how brilliant they are. Jean Passanante has done this on 2 soaps (and they sucked both times), so now three strikes before OLTL is out.

When I read "very nearly" brain dead I have to think is that so he will have a "very nearly" miraculous recovery. I think you're either brain dead or you're not.

I'm wondering how this will actually turn out. Is EA even out, or what?? Hadn't heard anything. And was this taped before cancellation? Could it change the outcome??? Anyway, Carol's right, Jean has indeed done this on two other soaps, and I loathed both of those storylines. The woman can't think of anything else to do with certain characters, so she basically soap hops and gives hearts to folks. Same shit, different show. Isn't she an FOF??? (Friend of Frons) That's what I had heard from a few other folks.

So Ron Carlivati has pulled a Claire Labine?? Gross. Killing off Matthew is disgusting. Clint has already lost ONE son. Now another? And poor Nora doesn't deserve this!! What is wrong with these writers?? They kill off beloved characters as often as most of us change underwear, destroying history and potential storyline progression in the process, and then they wonder why viewers tune out.
Stupid idea!!! Very stupid. I hope this is a red herring, because I find it hard to fathom that Ron C could be this STUPID and out of touch with reality!!!

Okay, I'm feeling a little better after reading the comments pointing out "nearly". EA has not been let go as far as I've read so there's at least a chance that he'll make a recovery. Question: How much more does this kid have to go through? Wasn't the paralysis, and then murder, enough? Oh, and he also lost his first girlfriend to the worst character on the entire show.
On a positive note, if Matthew doesn't die, I hope he and Destiny get a shot. Also: Did they have sex the other day? That scene at Matthew's place ended ambiguously.

Matthew's stories are so poorly put together and go away for such a long time, it's hard to care about him these days. Maybe that was the point. I still can't believe they had him become a jerk so we would feel sorry for Dani and her geriatric boyfriend.
A few years ago there was a lot of good drama between Matthew, Bo, and Nora, but it got lost in all the stopping and starting.

I think The Heart donor should be Echo being Charlie has left there no reason for Echo to stick around and gives Rex a new story where Rex has to make a tough decision weather to save Clint or not Marty should go Jorney to find Partick where ever he is.

Alstonboy don't remind me about the whole Reid/Chris Huges thing. I was so angry and upset, I couldn't even watch those hospital scenes...and now Jean Passanante is working her special bovine magic on OLTL.
This stupid Jessica storyline has her as a man now. Why don't the (b-word) just look down at those GIGANTIC knockers?! You'd think Wes would be a little panicked that he had a "nunu" instead of a "hoo-hah".

One of two things I hope happen. In a shocking turn of events, Nate, who knocks out Matthew, gets seriously injured and is on life support. Inez then has to make the decision, and feeling guilty that her son caused Matthews fate, allows her son's organs to be donated to both Matthew and Clint. The second would be Ford is gravely injured just as "Jessica" comes back and Jessica saves her father and cousin by donating Ford's organs. RC's stories usually have good payoffs, so I am not expecting the predictable.
