Umm, what? That promo was silly. I mean RH's return is a huge news in daytime. Goes to show you that ABC never had any intention to increase soap viewership. Any way, this promo makes me mad when I think of the fact RH and SH will probably not get any scenes with his return as she is on her way out. OLTL destroyed a once great character.

They had planned to bring TK back to escort Marty off canvas, but TK said no, so they are apparently taking her in a new direction. The outcome isn't known yet, as I've been searching. She might cross paths with RH, since they got him on so fast. At least, I do hope so.

But compare this promo to the ad nauseam promo's we got for Brenda, Brenda, Brenda... and her return was much a'do about nothing and a total flop. This is a much bigger deal, and we get a snippet. Like I said, hopefully word of mouth will continue to build like it has been over the months and ABC will look like even bigger dumbasses.

OMG, I can't believe what's happened to Marty. I really didn't think RC would take her this far . . . and I doubt it'll happen, but I'd love for TPTB to flip their decision to let SH go since the show's preparing its sawn song. She's only one of the most important actresses and characters in this show's history!!!!!

I really hope they don't kill off Marty!!! Susan Haskell deserves better than that, as do long-time fans of the character. I wish soap writers would REMEMBER that there are sooooooo many ways to get rid of a character without killing him or her off.

I don't recall anyone saying that she wasn't leaving. They are taking the character in a different direction from their original plan. Had TK agreed to return, Patrick would have escorted her offscreen. That's why they wanted him back. But since he said no, and is going back to AMC instead, they had to change plans with what is happening with her character and where she goes. good grief.

I've only watched OLTL since 2001 so I dont know a lot about the history of Marty. I know what happened to her but I didnt get to see her act back then. I might be in the minority but Im not a big fan of Marty. There are some villians you love to hate, JR Ewing would be an example, but even though you hated him, you wanted to see what he was going to say or do next. I dont get that with Marty. I just want her to go away now.

As far as the promo goes, its good to have Roger back. I think it gets overshadowed because OLTL is getting cancelled.

Just because TK is not around to walk SH off the screen does NOT mean we have to see Marty all in a twitter about McBore! Ugh. Why not let Marty figure out that Patrick is alive and she leaves town to go find her husband.

At this point, I’ve stopped speculating about this show, because there are many things lately that surprise me more than others--good, bad, and totally odd. And they are keeping mum on where she goes. RC said they are having to move fast behind the scenes, given the timeline. All they said was her storyline has changed, don't know if it's good or bad since Ravenbeauty hasn't updated in awhile with scoops. I don't know what they plan to do with her. It's sort of how I feel about Liz, whom I love to death. I've read the latest spoilers on her, and have been SMDH on them ever since. Unless they change, which I hope, I don't know how it's going to turn out -- so much changes in the writing as of late, especially given the statuses of these shows.

ITA! I like bitchy Marty, but her being crazy isn't hot. That would have been the perfect exit for her...

I'm excited about RH, god I hope he is "Todd" and like some viewers I know the history but I didn't watch OLTL then about the rape. I have to agree why are they ruining Marty's character in such a manner? AS for blaming Jean P. is just easy excuse to blame someone else of Ron C.'s writing this amazing character in hole. Ron C. isn't the second coming of soap writers because some of his stories are just HORRIBLE and LAZY and some is very good. He is always all over the place. A mix bag. I mute the whole Jess, Tess, Bess, and now Wes bullshit, I don't want watch this BULLSHIT he should of had Jessica to die which would made it umbrella storyline. He has destroyed the character of Jessica. The truth of Liam is very good, the Echo, Viki, Dorian is going to be very good with those veterans. But I can't wait for the tale of two Todds and how it unfolds. I just hope the RH is "Todd" and with that scar being shown from the promo a guy could pray. Shane storyline is very good and what I want to know is why Ron has made that storyline as back burner story where messy Tessica, with the Ford and Cutter is on almost every day? This is important social issue which should be front and center, Anges would had put this kind story upfront because she always wrote major social stories. I don't understand why the Shane story gets maybe a day or two a week? Shane vs Tess, give me the storyline of Shane anytime because it character driven story and pulls all the heart strings and all the actors on this story is hitting every beat.

At least I'm watching Marty scenes since OLTL gave for a (crazy) backbone. Earth mother Marty was a snoozefest. It's also fitting that she return to her obsessive roots. She has shown poor judgement as a psychaitrist since returning to the show, she never really got resolution from the Rapemance, she was devistated by her son turning out to be a total loser and now in prison; it's not a huge leap with her unstable history that she's lost it.

As for putting the RH clip after the Marty Natalie clip, I think it was the best decision. We all know that what we will get this week is RH in the last moments of Fridays Epi. Why piss off viewers by making this weeks promo all about RH, when he'll barely be on? I think they learned a big lesson by watching the mistakes GH made with VM. And besides, the Marty Natalie confrontation is the meat of this weeks shows, why not promote it?

I am so excited Roger Howarth is coming back and hope it is revealed he is the real Todd!! Never liked the new Todd with his "one dimensional" portrayal. Its as if he has "Botox" injected all over his face. No expressions to go with the deep emotional swings. Too scary for the way Todd was created...full of mischief that was indelible on Roger's face. I love the way his face "trembles" when upset. NuTodd acts like he is staring at a wall and has taken the direction that he has always been dangerous in a more subdued way. It was hard to see him portay his undying love to dear sweet Vickie and then go full force demonic on someone all while no change of expressions. Just my thoughts.
Roger did the BEST Paul Ryan on ATWTs! And now he's back to ride the wave of OLTL...someone at ABC: save our shows!! Stop the madness that is Brian Frons!

Looking forward to Natalie confronting Marty this week. That should be entertaining as I happen to love Crazy Marty....

I also would like to see more of Shane's story line...and agree it is very socially relevant at this time.

Love Dorian/Viki/Echo...These three vets are just awesome...I can't wait to see what Echo will do next.

I love TSJ as Todd...but I am excited that RH is returning...and can't wait to see how they write this story. I have high expectations for this.

The Marty story is sickening. Killing her off may actually be a good thing, and I say this as a Marty fan, because at least then they can't do any more damage to her character. Simply awful! No wonder this show is cancelled.

My gut instinct tells me Marty will re-appear around November sweeps and reunite with Patrick once and for all.

I have never been a huge fan of Marty. I was watching back in the day and while I always felt bad for what happened to her, I was never a fan of the character. I only ever enjoyed her when she was with Patrick. He really seemed to make her a better person and I was glad when they left town together. What is it about McBain that makes women flock to him and the lie and cheat to keep him? LOL. I don't see the appeal.

Well, guess what, if you're not a fan of Marty you can't really empathize or sympathize with her fans. I don't see why people feel the need to announce they aren't a fan of something/someone. You're basically just pissing on the Marty fans who have already suffered enough.

I dont know whats going on with the two Todds. I remember Roger Howarth as Todd and I found him funny, almost Tuc Watkins like. Im not a big fan of Trevor St. John'a Todd. I think St. John's Todd doesnt make you root for him at all. I think hes obnoxious, overbearing and a real jerk. Im sorry but when Todd was shot and everyone was crying for him to get better, what has he shown for us to root for him? Remember when he pulled the "gun" on Nate which turned out to be a fake? Hes just soo damn obnoxious.

Mets82, you're not supposed to root for Todd whether he's played by Howarth or St. John---he's a friggin' rapist! Todd is to be hated and despised forever (or at least until January 2012).

I love OLTL. I will miss Susan a lot, but I will continue to watch until the soap's last episode, which I am sure will stay on my DVR just like the last episode of GL and ATWT is...and somewhee in this house is the last AW, SB, and LOVING episodes. Oh and the first episode of Generations!

I agree Alistair. I just think sometimes the way Todd is presented, its almost like your supposed to root for him. Remember the promo, a week or two ago when Todd was in that coma. To me, it seemed like we were supposed to root for Todd to get better. I mean if it was Viki, Bo, Nora or whoever in that promo instead of Todd you could root for them but with Todd you dont.

I don't understand why so many people are so upset about Marty.. I've been watching OLTL for about 20 years now.. I remember the rape storyline very well, and sure it was compelling, and horrific.. but Marty has always been a bland as white bread character to me.. I really don't care what they do with her at this point, as long as she's gone. Aside from her return setting up the Starr/Cole story line in my honest opinion she has done nothing great for the show since her return.. In fact I find every story line that includes her (romance with Todd, being with John, going totally insane) to be utterly boring. Giving screen time to characters like Marty who are a snooze no matter what they do, isn't going to help the cancellation issues. :/
