Wow, this is totally RANDOM!!!! Martha's great and all, but why recast for just a few weeks?? Can't they just NOT show Elizabeth, you know in the same way that they just DON'T show Monica, Edward, Bobbie........etc, etc???

Now that you've said that alston, I just thought... when is the Aiden reveal going to take place, I wonder??? If it takes place during Martha's run, I'm done.

Becky is pretty sick also . Michael her husband, tweeted she was sick over a week ago... if not longer. What a shame....Finally her story comes front and center, and she gets sick. She is the only Liz for me though...I would not enjoy any other actress in this role...even if it is only for 2 weeks. Some characters and actors are just synonymous with one another, especially when the actor has played the same character for so long. I wish they would push back the paternity reveal, until she felt better....Get well fast Becky...you will be very missed.

Her health is of the utmost importance right now.

I wonder if Martha will be a brunette. I'm guessing that the Aiden reveal will be next month because of Tyler Christopher's final tape date being May 19. Martha's first airdate is June 8, and GH tapes like 3-4 weeks in advance. This sucks that everything will come to a head without Becky, unless the TPTB drag things out. RavenBeauty said that Niolas will be killed off...

Oh great, kill off Nikolas and not have Laura come back AGAIN during a family crisis. Ugh.

Nik is being killed off? GH has absolutely no respect when it comes to the show or their fans.

The timing of this is pretty interesting.....

I'm just shocked that they're giving the character of Elizabeth enough airtime that she needs to be replaced...

No one knows when it is going to hit you. Becky is sick...her husband was talking about her being sick a week ago on Twitter....Tweeting symptoms that are all a part of viral meningitis. To suggest this is something other than her being sick...is just silly.

It is a shame that she got ill, right before filming really emotional scenes, for her upcoming story though.

Yikes, it's DumBelle! Kirsten Storms is the definitive Belle in my book---I couldn't STAND Martha's portrayal. I did enjoy Martha's short stint on Passions as Lola.

I love Martha and miss her on Days...even if she didn't play it aswell as Kirsten. So i'll be glad to watch her for a few weeks but uh...she was the only person you could hire to play LIZ? Really??

I am like everyone else I hope its not during the paternity stuff.
I kinda of assumed it would be soon...Nik would find out and be upset and leave town...and to me that should be his exit...but I really really hope they don't trash his character even more by killing him off!
and if they really found it a must to kill him off I should at least get a clip of him riding off into the sunset with Emily.

WOW! That is terrible for Becky! I had the same illness (viral) many years ago, and I can still, to this day, remember the horrible Head Pain, that started off one evening as a really bad headache, that would not go away! By 4:00 am, the next morning, I awakened with the MOTHER of all headaches!! OH - and how could I ever forget the lovely freaking spinal tap that I had to go through in the ER! It's a good thing that I was still young enough, that I was living at home at the time, and my parents had the good sense to get me to the hospital!

The show must go on, as they say in theater. GH couldn't just halt taping, just like a Broadway show doesn't shut down when a star is ill -- they have understudies. Kudos to Martha (who is a good actress) for stepping up to take on the part at the last minute. At least GH got an experienced soap actor to fill in.

That being said, I wish Becky a speedy recovery and hope she doesn't miss out on too much meaty material. I'm sure that's the last thing she wanted!

But TPTB decide to find a replacement during this time. The timing is just interesting considering she was axed not too long ago. I don't want Nik killed off, either but at this point...would it even matter? With cancellation rumors getting stronger, it's gotten to a place where it's par for the course. GH has disrespected their history and fans for years now.

I thought that the Nik storyline was changed (yet again), and he was just going to up and leave Port Chuck? I know that all three shows are undergoing some major re-writes (especially AMC & OLTL!) at the moment, and I could have sworn that I heard, somewhere, that the rumors of Nikolas' death were greatly exaggerated. Who knows, at this point, he will be gone soon. One way, or another.

Speedy recovery Becky!

I had viral menigitis twice (officially the most unlucky person on earth!) when I was in my late teens, early twenties. It sucks. Headaches that are torture and vomiting that never ends. I was in the hospital for a week with the last bout. She will be feeling tired and weak for about a month after the worst symptoms subside. I feel so bad for her!

The reason you didn't see much of Liz during the Jake death storyline is because they pulled scenes, and rewrote it after they rehired Becky. They obviously couldn't go ahead with her meltdown and being carted off to Shadybrook, which was originally slated for this character. Their solution was to focus on the other characters, and throw us the occassional Liz scene, while it played out over the matter of a week and a half. Also some of her scenes were supposedly too unflattering to the character, and they didn't want to darken Liz after deciding to keep her. The Jake story line was really the catalyst for Luke's alcohol story, Liz's departure, and the impetus to Jasam deciding to have a baby. Once they decided Liz was not going anywhere, they went full steam ahead focusing on Luke, Lucky and Jason. Was it right that Liz took a back seat in this story? No of course not...but she was never the real focal to begin with. They concentrated more on the other story lines that evolved out of Jake's death, and less on her...since she was no longer leaving.

This story line coming up, obviously needs the character of Liz in it to play out. They can't write around her, or have her absent in scenes. Unfortunately for us Becky is too sick to work, hence the temporary replacement.

In the future, if you don't want people to misinterpret your posts, don't leave them open ended and ambiguous on purpose.

Then I wouldn't have to throw in "my two cents" by not understanding what you are trying to say........ which by the way I didn't misunderstand......You were inferring there was more to this recast then BH needing a stand in while being sick. Your own words say she was recently axed, and that ABC has been doing "low down" things lately, and that they should be watching their backs.. All I said was... it was silly to think this temporary recast was anything other than her being sick.

We all each have a right to give our opinions.
Now, I truly see what other posts where referring to that you cannot write anything about Becky Herbst, that is viewed as negative by some, without someone commenting on it.
I will continue to write my posts as I see fit.
Nor will I waste my time continuing to argue a meaning of words, that is not what I come on this site for.
