Will Judge Judy Be the New Queen of Daytime?
By Akash Nikolas on May 02, 2011

With Oprah Winfrey abdicating her daytime throne on May 25th, who will take her place? Not heir apparent Susan Lucci, now that All My Children has been cancelled. No, the new monarch just may come from the courtroom! Judge Judy Sheindlin has signed a deal with CBS TV Distribution through 2015 for Judge Judy. CTD President John Nogawski extols her merits to Deadline:
“Judy is in a class by herself. For 15 years, she’s delivered one of the highest-rated shows in all of syndication. She’s at the top of her game, and we’re excited to be in business with daytime’s #1 star.”
What do you think daytime viewers? Are you ready for a judge to ascend the throne?

Jeanne Cooper will take Susan Lucci's spot as the QUEEN OF DAYTIME (unless someone can manage to save these shows, which at this point seems unlikely!) And rightfully so, since she is the GRAND DAME of Y&R and CBS Daytime. Judge Judy is the queen of courtroom shows, but not daytime in general. Sorry.

Please God no in regards to Judge Judy. I hate her!
I am a judge so i can mock you and belittle you in my court room and you can't do nothing about it.
I would hate to be in her court and have her go off on me cuz I would end up jail.
Why would NBC pick up AMC and OLTL when they canceled Santa Barbara Another World Passions generations and SUnset Beach over the last 15-20 years?
What is currently on at 1 and 2 ?

SoapActor,
I doubt NBC would pick "All My Children." "One Life to Live" is a possibility but a long shot because of Day's ratings crash. Not too long ago, Days was nearly beating B&B and matching doing very well in the demos. That has changed since Days was renewed last summer.
