Ousted Scientologist Michael Fairman, who plays Kay Chancellor's (Jeanne Cooper) husband Murphy on The Young and the Restless has made some fairly damning claims to the Village Voice about not only the controversial religion, but one of his Genoa City costars!

There is a Scientologist working on the show," he says of The Young and the Restless. "She told me, 'You have an enemy at work.' So I went to the producers. They laughed at the whole thing," he says.
"It has occurred to me that they might do something to defame my character. But look, I'm 77. I don't give a fuck," he says. "I'm a good enough actor that I think that's not going to be any concern. I mean, I don't think Tom Cruise would hire me, but I kind of dislike him for what he has allowed to go on."

I didn't know about Sharon Case but I had heard that Stafford was and I can see her being difficult with people that don't agree with her beliefs.

Sharon Case...has to be her. She is a real weirdo, and not really all that pleasant to be around. I went to a CBS upfront a few years ago and a few Y&R stars were there, Sharon Case being one of them...she was really mean to everyone, and she acted like she would kill people who looked at her or touched her, she would not pose with any fans for pics, and just seemed creepy as hell.

They did an E! True Hollywood Story on Y&R once some years back. And wouldn’t you know, they have NEVER shown it again??? They talked to Brenda Dickson and discussed Peter Bergman’s and Eric Braeden’s feud back then. I had a tape of that E hollywood story and lost it!

Agreed akbad806. I seriously am not that into any of these shows anymore, I mainly come to this site because they get all of the behind the scenes stuff that the magazines have no "stones" to print. I'm telling you this behind the scenes stuff is 100 times better than any on air storylines on any of the shows.
Yes I also love that Mr. Fairman used the f word. My vote is it's Stafford by the way.

Cult is right!! This actor should be glad he got out. I had heard that Stafford was a member of this fruit cake society, but I didn't know that about Case. I also heard Case was quite the Diva when she had to attend an event. I have never been a fan of the character she plays (Sharon), and I am not a fan of hers in real life either. I love the character of Phyllis on the show, but to be honest I would not walk across to the street to meet Stafford in person.

Now with Case, just from me posting this morning, I'm reading elsewhere with some folks saying she's still in, others saying she's got out. But the most are saying she is still a scientology member??? I dunno. Anywho, just that phrase 'You Have an Enemy at Work' just sounds all kind of Lifetime Movie Network weird. I imagine the person's eyes watching him as he walks across the studio, or peels a banana or eats an apple or something. Like, if they're talking to another co-star and the moment they see Murphy, they just stop and stare at him as he goes by.

Well from the things I've heard about Michelle Stafford offending others, I would think it would be something she would say, maybe even as joking. Now for Sharon Case, don't know what she has to be all snotty about because she's not ALL THAT. I think her acting is sub-par compared to Stafford and others on the show. And I WISH they would do something with her wispy hair, it makes her look older to have it so long and straight. As far as Michael Fairman..my man said he don't give a F**K! LOL

I enjoyed AlistairCrane's comment about Ms Stafford. I don't understand why she is so popular around here; did she not spit on the Sainted Ms Rowell a few years back? Is that what Scientology teaches members to do when they are not bouncing up and down on couches in blissful glee?

Stafford, Case, T Cruise, Kirstie Alley, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, are all scientologists. Where you see one, you see others. It is like they all hang out. Stafford is in the audience of DWTSs because of Kirstie. Same with John Travolta. They are all friends but they are all scientologists from what I read.
I don't know enough about the whole thing to comment. I read this and that but I never did any deep reading on the group. But this is America so whatever gets people to cope with day-to-day stuff is ok with me. Life is not easy.

It SCREAMS Michelle Stafford. As much as I like and admire her as an actress, a part of me is STILL pissed off with her for what she did to Victoria Rowell. "Spit take" my ass.......... And she also seems power-hungry and kinda self-entitled, based on the interviews she's done. Of course, I have never even met the woman, and maybe I am being harsh in my critique/observations, but you can certainly tell a LOT about a person by how they conduct their self with the press.
Something tells me that Michelle has Maria Bell---and 75% of the cast and crew at Y&R---by the balls.

I didn't know that either actress believed in that...that's their business. Whatever. I will admit, looking at the two of them, I be half afraid to meet Ms. Stafford in real life. She just has this look about her. I don't know.

First I just want to say that I LOVE this site. I mean there is nothing like it and ya'll speak our minds and I couldn't agree more. I too think it is Stafford and laghed my arse off at the Lifetime movie comment.
Goodness gracious I mean don't actors on soaps work 16 hours a day? During none of that would I be starting drama, I would be catching some z's during break.
I also like Sharon Case and have a love/hate relationship w/ the character of Sharon but I hope she ain't snooty...I'm just going to be nice and leave it there.
Lastly, I have to say Mr. Fairman is up there with my fave y&r actors now. I mean he's in gangster status with Mrs. J Cooper! Saying he don't give a F, he can get work...you go on in this recession.
