I'm calling right now......and please believe that the FOUR letter words will be flying fast and furiously!! This is some bullshit!! For real. Please excuse my French. I normally edit out my profanity, but this is no time for biting my tongue! I am seriously sick to my stomach over this foolishness!!
I can't save these shows, but I MUST make my opinions known!!!!

Can we fire Frons instead?
This is ridiculous. Soaps are dying and they shouldn't be.

So sad....Alot of people out of work....Not really concerned about the people who work behind the scenes...they can find a job really fast...But who's going to hire soap stars.Ony a hand full of soap stars make it big...Soaps was always a fall back for these people....most soap stars end up doing b movies or most return to soaps because they are type cast....I feel for these people. I though they might cancel one show (AMC) but not both...This is a sad day.
Sorry to all the soap fans.....Well I have only one soap left....And that THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS....Thank god it's the #1 soap on TV and thank god it's not on ABC.

My thoughts are flying quickly...
AMC has to wrap so quickly I can't imagine they can do it justice and for what? another food show -- if I want food I have the food network, thank you very much!
Just on principle I will not be watching any show that ABC puts on to replace AMC or OLTL...If the show that replaces AMC tanks in the ratings is there a chance they will replace it rather than OLTL next January?

I want to call in, but I'm to afraid at what I might say...
I can't even express any words right now...

I can't believe they actually think they can get more viewers with that crap they intend to put on. We already have a full network of cooking programs, ABC thinks they can do better than the pros????
The only thing wrong with the daytime soaps and has been wrong for some time has been the writing. And instead of fixing that and getting fresh, new ideas with new writers, they simply recycled the bad ones. TIIC have been setting this action up for some time...
Oh well, good luck to them, I don't know anyone that will be watching after the change over. They are destroying the networks.

How long will the lines be open? Because I honestly don't want to call in right now, I will be swearing like a sailor, I need to collect myself.

Luke/Jamey,
Please tell us what we can do to put pressure on these guys to keep OLTL on the air! I will do anything I can...Do you all think writing editorials would do any good? I do have a journalism degree (not trying to be snobby) LOL I will do anything to save OLTL...Tell us what we can do!

Just curious as to why another network or Direct TV can't pick it up?
Passions went to Direct TV for 1 year before being canceled.
There are 999 channels on my cable box.
Can one struggling channel really not pick this up?
I guess its about money though.
Oh well I guess its down to GH.
Will have to start catching up on other shows.
So much for that huge fanmail campaign where ABC was in awe.

Ive been defending Susan and all her interviews stating that the cancellation talks were RUMOR - Sorry Jamey I will never doubt you again. And I dont care if I ever see Susan again.

Gotta love ABC. Lets Frons & Co. BADLY micromanage the soaps until the ratings plummet, then they get to cancel them and replace them with what sounds like two of the dumbest shows ever conceived for daytime. Great job there execs! You deserve to lose your audiences to cable. I am sooo disgusted.

It would have been a nice try if they wanted to sydicate these show and try and sell them like that but, ABC will face some uprising in the coming days and weeks.

Please do not blame Susan, giogio. As the class act she is, after 40-plus years in show business, she probably was told not to discuss cancellation news and rumors about either of the soaps from behind-the-scenes. Susan knows how to handle answering curious sticky questions to nosy entertainment news people. She's a press agent's dream actress for many high-level media folks!

Really ABCD?! Really?! You really think that the daytime viewing public is going to watch some ass backward bullshit called The Chew and The Reveloution? Don't know what these shows are about, and really, I don't give a hell. What I care about two soaps that could be saved if you gave a shit are being cancelled because you don't. You think that people are setting their DVRS for Let's Make a Deal over on CBS? Hell no!
I wholeheartedly agree with Alstonboy, this is some bullshit. If ABC really wanted to save their soaps they would have chopped off the head of the snake and put someone in there who really wanted to see daytime flourish(sp?), someone who would crack the whip on the foolishness that fans have compalined about and got back to real story telling.
They didn't, and because of their laziness, we lose AMC and OLTL. Thank you so much Brian Fronz, and whoever else just shot soap fans in the face. This is the best gift ever.

I will follow One Life to the end, but as of today I am boycotting everything else on ABC. Everything. (not that there's much else worth watching.)

greeneb2- I know I sound harsh against Susan, but I based my decision on what she said. If you go over the posts in the last few weeks, everytime something was mentioned about cancellation, I got on and said under no uncertain terms, All my children is not being cancelled. Susan Lucci said it was a rumor and I believe her. And if you read any of my other posts you will see Ive been watching amc since 1971 and oltl since 1968. I dont really know how to act at this point. Im very sad and really down and dont mean to be mean to anyone, I just dont know how to deal with this right now. We are all hurting. Maybe we should just chill overnight, maybe things will not feel so bad tomorrow.

Im not saying they should sell them Its an experiment with syndication. they could have syndicated these shows and still aired their little talks shows.
In syndication these chows could be aired at diffrent times late afternoons, early evenings, early morning etc. MyNetworkTV, NBC affiliates, CW affilates, the possibilities are endless and they could have made money.

GLTURNS - but is there still a chance on syndication???

ABC is making a serious mistake. Both soaps have dedicated viewers. No, there aren't as many women at home each day watching them. Instead many of us record them and watch them at a later time. BUT WE STILL WATCH THEM!! We will not be watching the new shows! They sound incredibly boring. There are already too many talk, food and lifestyle shows on tv! On one of the websites I saw a statement saying that ABC thought the new shows would be popular because "The View" is so popular. Earth to ABC, "The View" is unique. It provides serious political discussions as well as celebrity news and other light popular discussions.
Many of us would actually like to see some good scripted shows on television. Oh, I forgot--there are already some good scripted shows--AMC and OLTL--but they have just been cancelled. I suggest that all of us who are soap fans boycott the new shows!

I just told my Mom about this and she told me she is going to cry. I know these are just fictional shows but they are often parts of peoples' lives five days a week and they have tackled really important social issues, and in doing so, made the world a better place. Maybe I am being a little melodramatic here but that is how I feel. This is such a very sad day.

dont worry suedora - especially here in NYC - we've walked by these actors left and right. Say hi to them- are you kidding me. They walk around here like any of us do. They are a NYC family. We love our own.

Giogio - Believe it. The press was told before the actors and crew which is all KINDS of sad, fuck-uppity shit.
It's the same thing all over again as what was told to GL cast & crew (incl. Ellen Wheeler, Jill Hurst etc) - who were informed on April 1st, 2009 (April Fool's My Ass) of their cancellation. And again press were informed before cast/crew. They were under the assumption - given their upturn in ratings over the last couple months (Feb & Mar 09) that they were going to be okay. Not so.
As for the crew as someone mentioned above - no, not all quickly get jobs easier than cast members unfortunately.
I doubt I'll call in. But I'm no less pissed off. I have written my thoughts out in a blog post already and over twitter and facebook.

Giogio--
Please cut Susan Lucci some slack. She's the walking personification of class and diplomacy. There's no way that she would ever reveal a secret that wasn't hers to tell or throw someone under the bus. If she were that kind of actress, I guarantee you she wouldn't have survived 41 years in daytime. If you want to blame someone, blame Fronsie and ABC Daytime!!!
Susan Lucci, along with all the other veteran actors on AMC are SAINTS for dealing with over a decade of inconsistent writing and storylines, many of which have ruined or compromised their characters. And they have done it without PHONING IT IN or giving less than 100%. I applaud actors who go to work and give their ALL even when times get rough!!!
