This rumor was shut down within an hour. It had to come from somewhere ... and it's leading somewhere.

This won't be the last news to that topic. I'm sure about.

Maybe just maybe the SOD insider was a little bit too early before someone could even break to news to Guza that he's out of a job.

I agree, ABC denied the AMC move to the West Coast, they denied that Rebecca Herbst was fired, and now this.

I mean this sounds more than internet rumor gone wild, this came from somewhere.

Oh well it wasfantastic while it lasted. Just seeing the words in print made my heart sing...They will never get rid of this hack he must own something somewhere. Maybe he has stock in Disney ...

I agree that something has to be up as well... and notice this stuff always seems to come out on a Thursday, or Friday??? Hmm. Anyway, SOD said THEY had "insider sources". SID said THEY had "insider sources"... And suddenly, we're all getting conflicting information from all these people behind the magic green curtain??? It's all too weird for my taste, and I still think something is up. Again, I don't think that "rumor" fell out of the clear blue sky and landed on SOD's head. And what about people saying that ravenbeauty confirmed that the person/exec. she was talking about being gone back in February was in fact Guza??? I visit her site quite often, and someone linked that February post, but her old posts don't come up unless you visit the site, and I don't feel like trolling through her threads. Apparently, she said the same thing on Facebook today, I guess, but I'm currently not her facebook friend, so I can't read the info. So... what gives??? Either someone was lying from the get go, we're stil being misled, something big is really coming, or... GH is just looking for more publicity.

Im with you jlafferty23- I will never stop - no matter how aggrivated I get. And We all always get aggrivated. The only soap I REALLY did stop watching for a few years was all my children when they changed the way they were taping. It looked like an amature had a camcorder and kept flipping from one side to another. Also, the actors faces were far from polised, and the whole thing was a mess. It made me dizzy. I even wrote a letter to amc. Than it changed and I started to watch again. But the only reason why I stopped was because I really felt dizzy.

Oh well....We will just wait and see.

But let me add this. I saw in the first report that many posted the cliche about a new headwriter being worse than Luza. And while the "devil you don't know" mantra should be duly noted, where does that get anyone if decisions are made like that? At this point, I don't really care if monkeys are hired to write the show. The worse that happens is that more scraping of the bottom of the barrel happens. Cause I feel we have hit bottom with this regime in charge along time ago. IMO, this guy (along with Frons and Phelps) has got to go.

Raven says that she still thinks it could happen. She confirmed that Guza was the one she was told was leaving back in Feb. She says her source is the same as SOD's source. And she says where there is smoke there really is fire. But she also said that she would not believe it until it actually happens. She said Guza has tentacles that extend into the ocean!!

She says to take all she reports with caution because this or that could change, but she has been right about so many things in the past for this one to just be an 'oops!', no matter how far back the rumors go. And like we've all said, this just didn't come from nowhere. Guess we'll just have to wait it out. I need to get back to work anyway. Guza's such a time suck!

GH has been at a all time low for ratings for quite some time now. Yes, the recent S&B wedding saw a ratings spike...just like the bus crash, and a few other story lines that came and went in a few days time. The problem is they cannot maintain these bumps, and the ratings go right back down. This has to be a concern to TPTB.

A few other troubling things would be all the money they put out recently to bring back VMG, and the story line bombing so bad. No rating boost and complaints from the fans on a daily basis of just how bad the show is.

Recently we had the BH fire/rehire incident, where they fired a popular actress on the show and had to rectify it from fan outcry.

Now we have this Jake story line, and once again they are getting flooded with angry calls, mail and feedback on just how unhappy the fans are with this...

Now if you were in charge... and had to add this all up...wouldn't you think maybe it was time for a change somewhere.....There is most definitely something going on.

Maybe Guza is not technically "leaving" GH, but may no longer be head writer? That's my guess. Maybe his status as a producer will remain. It all could be in the wording...

I just read today on Wiki that at one time general hospital had 14 million viewers a day - then they reminded on when it went into WSB than alot of sci-fi stuff. Thats when they started loosing viewers. Glad I read it. Makes me appreciate what it is now.

DARN!!! I thought maybe I could start watching GH again. His writing is what drove this life long viewer away. In my opinion he is killing sweet little Jake in order to justify a JaSam baby. I refuse to watch even though I know there will be some fantastic acting from Rebecca, Jonathan and Steve. Also being a bereaved mom, I have trouble watching those things.
Hopefully the Powers to be will get the message soon!

Yes,that was the SAME source that first reported RH being fired MONTHS before anyone here knew about it.So i would say it could still happen,just not as soon as we want.

Wait. I am learning a lot of suprising things today and have to admit I don't know much about TPTB for GH as am kindof a newcomer. Is Guza married? I saw an old YTube clip of when he accepting an award for the Daytime Emmy's, and I always assumed he was ...... No offense to anyone. In looking at his page on Wiki, he is married to another writer from GH.

I have watched through a lot of stuff and probably will continue to as long as there are characters I care about but... if you want possibly a less darker show then you probably should want Guza to leave.

It actually had 30 million viewers in the 80's and it went down from 14 million to 2 million when BG took over.BTW i watched back when the WSB was the main story back then and it was555-5555000000% BETTER then it is now.Back then GH had alot more 'mainstream' stars 'visiting' Gh ALL of the time.People like Liz Taylor & BB King ( ok once each). I mean yes James Franco is a huge star but he has nothing on Liz Taylor. The show was GREAT back then ( with the exception of Casie the alien).

Guza sucks as a headwriter and if GH wants to be around for the next 10 yrs, they need to get rid of him and bring in fresh new talent to save GH because it is a dreadful show to watch and is depressing.

This makes me wonder if this "rumor" was thrown out because ABC is trying to find their leak before they make decisions about the daytime lineup.

It was coming from SOD... which doesn't play "fake rumors" too much. So I still find it weird.
However whether he keeps his job or not or if he stays at Prospect but with limited responsabilities compared with now, TPTB must have observed the reaction everywhere.

As I said previously, what matters to me is balance and consistency.
But on the contrary of jlafferty and giogio, I cannot see myself watching GH much longer if it keeps going this way. And I have watched 28 years. But I can't stand Sonny and I can't stand Dante and both are eating the show alive and my faves (Alexis and Johnny) are barely on or used to prop Guza's latest pets.
As my husband said: why do you keep watching if it makes you unhappy? So I am proud of myself/ I was on vacation one week and missed one week of GH and OLTL. I have caught up with OLTL but don't intend to do it on GH (it was 3 weeks ago) and it is the first time ever I think in 28 years that I have missed some GH epis... And surprisingly I have survived this.

So please Guza, Labine, Harris WHOEVER, give me back good storylines and use all your cast instead of Mini-Soprano and his Mini-Serpico of a son and make GH still enjoyable before I start watching less and less and eventually let go...

And please write women properly instead of bimbos bringing coffees, lattes or whatever to their men, forgiving them for lying again and again and even rewarding them by planning Vdays when the pig couldn't even send flowers.

Yes, and Sonny needs to disappear with his family and bring back the core legacy characters that the fans know and loved.

JasamForever, Guza is married to Meg Bennett who for example is the one who decided that she had to get a Corinthos/Spencer pairing before Dante was even cast when she came back to the show in April 2009.

I knew it was too good to be true. But in the show's defense, when the WSB was dominant, everyone was complaining about that as well. The show has ALWAYS lacked balance when it comes to the focus of the show.
