Colleen Zenk Attends Widescreen Performance!

Former As the World Turns star Colleen Zenk (pictured above with Eric Michael Gillett and Karen Akers) attended a performance of Widescreen on February 16. I LOVE Colleen!!! She SHOULD have been hired as Diane Jenkins, in my opinion.

ITA, alstonboy. She looks quite similar to the first two actresses that played Diane and is just as good an actress as Maura West; but I don't know how it would have played out onscreen to have Colleen's Diane sleep with Nick.

I think that Maura is a great actress and I loved her as Carly Tenney, but I feel she is VERY miscast as Diane. If Colleen were playing Diane, I would DEFINITELY be championing a Jack/Phyllis/Diane triangle or even a Nikki/Deacon/Diane triangle, but Colleen deserves better than the shoddy writing that they are giving Diane Jenkins. Hell, Maura deserves better too, but I am sure she's just thankful to have a job. She does have five kids to support, so I don't want to see her lose her job, but it's just another wasted opportunity for me.

I'm on record as finding the Nick/Diane/Victor triangle as being somewhat distasteful. But it would have had a lot more shock value and maybe even played better with Colleen in the role of Diane. Maura and Josh are not that far apart in age. Colleen was in a cougar storyline during her last year on ATWT and would probably have been EPIC in the Y&R story.
