Rebecca Herbst STAYING With General Hospital?!

What a good way to wake up in the morning. I go on Facebook and I have a message from loyal DC reader Gush900 asking me if I'd heard the "big GH news". I wipe my eyes, yawn, then type back "What big GH news?" I start to wonder if maybe Genie Francis is returning to General Hospital as a dark-haired mob moll named Dahlia Concepcion? So then I go get a cup of coffee, come back and log into Twitter and what do I see, but this gem tweeted early this morning by ABC Soaps in Depth:

I never been a fan of Becky anyway so if she stays or goes make no difference to me. General Hospital is sinking ship with there terrible storyline the best of GH was in the 70,s and 80,s especially wend Glory Monty was in charge.

WHOOO HOOOOO!!!!!YEAH, BABY!!!!! Those idiots at GH finally realized they screwed up, big time. What were they smoking, anyways, when they made this bad decision? I don't know how I feel about this. I would love to believe but I feel like they might just be playing with us. Did they expect the outcry? I think not. If they truly understood her value, they would never have treated her like crap in the first place. Is it possible that they will put her on recurring so they can tell the fans that she isn't fired but never use her? YUP!!! I am in wait and see mode. Becky is worth far better treatment. I have actually enjoyed not watching GH. The recaps sound horrible.

Wow! All I can say is that this is proof that RH has some dedicated fans out there! I hope its long term and not just throwing us a bone for an extra few months. I'm so happy for Becky...NOW put Liz and Lucky back together STAT and send Sibohan packing back to the Land of Lucky Charms!

I don't think the fans that fought so hard for Becky/Liz see Liz as vindictive, angry or hateful....but to each his/her own I guess! I'm all for a better storyline for this wonderful actress. Yay Becky! Yay Liz!

WOW! WOW! WOW! Like already mentioned, I don't think they expected this HUGE outcry, not just from fans of Becky and/or Liz, but from fans of the show in general. Both she and her character deserve a MUCH better storyline and MUCH better treatment. I'm eager to learn more details on the matter... but if it's true, like doodleynoodle, I'm happy for she and her family!

Fingers crossed and knocking on wood but not holding my breath. How many times did SID ask the question "Is Brenda returning?" Then answer in the details, "No not at this time".
They're sneaky and frequently use misleading lines like this. I'm certainly not giving their site any traffic. I'll hear about it here first if it's true.

Dellygrim- I totally agree. I was thinking the same thing when I read the headline. The soap mags are famous for misleading, as are TPTB at the shows. So, I'm hoping this isn't a "we have her for 3 more months" thing just to appease the fans due to the outcry over her firing. Or a "we aren't killing her so she can always return" thing and then put her on recurring and we still never see her. I hate to be a downer but I don't trust GH/ABC or SID right now. The only thing I can say is that, knowing the fan uproar, I don't think Jamey would've posted the article unless he had faith that it was true. Daytime Confidential I trust!

Wow! Interesting. Good for RH. Is it possible that this was a publicity stunt to begin with? Nah. GH wouldn't pull something like that would they? Anyway, here's to hoping that the Aiden reveal is compelling and suspensefull, and if baby Jake has to go, it's for a damn good reason ( hot tears rolling off my chin). It's really NLG that I have MY fingers crossed for.

I won't believe it until Rebecca Herbst makes the announcement. RH has been using her husband's twitter account to speak with fans (I finally started using my account when her firing was announced) and I will not believe this until I hear from her and I won't start watching until I read something good in Perkie's column.

I think GH is trying really hard to please the fans. They scarped the "brenda/dante" bullcrap, the Balkan story is coming to an end, and they hired Becky back.

This was not a ploy or a stunt. Rebecca was truly let go from the show and has been salvaged by fan reaction. You all know how I feel about PR stunts. This wasn't one.

I am glad that Beck is still employed but now I am worried who will take her place in the unemployed category. As there are recent budget cuts for the show, someone has got to go. Hopefully it won't be one of my favorites.

I still think this was all a stunt but because they got so much backlash they decided to reveal that Becky isn't leaving. I never believed it to begin with.

Im very happy for Becky and all at GH. I really just hope they do not bring her back as a ghost. Also I hope Natalia Livingston touches base with GH and find a way to bring back Emily. Helena could have always had her death staged.
