Oprah to Sarah Ferguson: “Don’t Let Me See You On Dancing With The Stars.”

The debut of Oprah’s new cable network OWN is almost here! In an interview with the talk show queen, Parade asked which shows were her idea, which led to the topic of Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York’s recent scandal and her upcoming six-part OWN series Finding Sarah.
How many of the shows are your idea?
Master Class. Finding Sarah [a six-part documentary with Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, premiering in spring]. That came from an interview I did this summer with her. We had a moment of real connection, watching the tape of her trying to get £500,000 [for access to Prince Andrew]. She said she didn’t want to go into bankruptcy. I said, “But when you look at that tape, don’t you see a morally bankrupted person? The one thing you were trying to avoid, you already are.” She said, “I never thought of it that way before.”
Ah, there you go again!
I remember the last thing I said to her when I left that interview: “Don’t let me see you on Dancing with the Stars.” She started e-mailing me and at one point asked what did I think of her doing a celebrity chef show. And I said, “That’s not going to help you. How are you going to rehabilitate yourself on a celebrity chef show? You should be working on yourself.”

The only thing about Oprah is that, even though she is ambitious and I admire her, I do not think she really knows the answers for people. Oprah has gotten to the point where she thinks she knows all the answers. It has been some time since she had to worry about money. Plus, she doesn't have the training to deal with people needing advice. She better leave that to Dr Phil.

Good grief, will this woman ever go away. Ms. Know It All Oprah - enough already. Most of the time she acts so high and mighty - above it all. I wish she would just retire and shut up.

Sarah Ferguson is a disgusting cow, but Oprah seems to be PAINFULLY out of touch with reality. Yes, this Sarah woman needs therapy and to work on her psychological, emotional and spiritual well being, but she also needs to earn a LIVING!!!
I don't fault her for wanting to earn some LEGAL cash, although I must admit-- I will NEVER watch any show (or shows) that she comes out with. But I certainly understand her desire to make some dough!!
Oprah, not EVERYONE is a TRILLIONAIRE like you with money to burn. Most of us have to actually....um, you know EARN MONEY and pay BILLS!! Or have you forgotten what BILLS are?????!!!!

I know Oprah would not approve of such uncouth language, but damn is she ever hoe-checking Sarah Ferguson!
She can ban the word all she wants - but she's treating the original Fergie like she's Oprah's bitch

For the record, Oprah never banned the word, 'bitch'. That was all a fabrication of some over-zealous reporter that was picked up everywhere. Silly. Secondly, and I'm used to it by now, but it's amazing how success of Oprah's magnitude brings out the jealousy in people. I'm glad that she's not going away and that she's expanding her universe in 2011 with an entire channel. She does good work all the time. What have her haters done lately? Uh-huh. I thought so.

Wow, TVGord. Laugh much? My comment above was meant to be tongue-and-cheek. I don't really know or care if she bans the word "bitch" or marries it.
And someone not liking Oprah does not make them a jealous "hater". People have the right to like or dislike Oprah all they want to. I don't really have a strong opinion about her as a person either way. On the one hand, if she's investing money into Fergie's "redemption", I can somewhat understand her not wanting her investment going to Sarah Ferguson becoming one of many famewhores. I'm sure all of that has been addressed in a contract. But at the same time, I wonder if Oprah realizes how controlling she sounds. Or how out of touch she can seem. At times Oprah can come off as the Mighty Oracle, like her "way" is the only way something can be done correctly. Some people find cooking therapeutic, so who's to say the celebrity cooking show wouldn't have been something constructive for Ferguson? Or even DWTS? Ferguson didn't mention things like Celebrity Big Brother or some other candid trainwreck reality show. I know those shows aren't psycho-babbly or New Age enough, but those might have been outlets for Sarah while "working on herself", as well as a way to support herself financially. Oprah of all people should understand there are many ways to accomplish a goal.
I actually admire Oprah's accomplishments. She is the epitome of the American dream - humble beginnings to mega success. And she has done great things for a lot of people. But that doesn't mean she is above reproach.

Who the heck does Ms. O think she is? Why should Sarah Ferguson take advice from her? I may not like much reality tv but hey, if you need thr money... There's nothing shameful about getting your cash from a reality show!

I guess Oprah is not as perceptive as many of us give her credit for being, or else she’d see that Duchess Sarah, as the British people have known for years, is all about No Class and a Free Pass, another trashy “upper-class” woman with gutter morals.
You don’t redeem someone like that by giving her a TV show; she should be working on herself in private.
