GREAT GOD FROM ZION: Young and Restless Star Darius McCrary Accused of Beating Ex-Wife With a BELT!

TMZ is reporting The Young and the Restless star Darius McCrary has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards from his former wife Karrine Steffans, because according to the video vixen-turned-author, McCrary beat her with a belt in front of her son!

According to the docs, Karrine claims McCrary "choked me from behind and beat me with a belt" during an argument in February ... an attack allegedly witnessed by her 12-year-old son.

Karrine claims McCrary struck again in November -- choking her and shoving her into a car in front of a large crowd of people at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in L.A.

Lord have mercy. I wonder what McCrary's n**** Paul Rauch will have to say about these shenanigans?

Can this affect his job on the show?  It's not a good look to have an actor embroiled in a domestic violence dispute, especially since the big demographic for soaps is women.

Knowing Y&R, they'll bring on Jaleel White as an emergency recast.

He won't be going anywhere unless he gets convicted. Don't you remember, he had the best audition in years.

After the crudely ghetto-UNFABULOUS way in which Darius, um...CONDUCTED himself on that last interview with Kristoff St. John and Victoria Rowell, this is simply another nail in his coffin!! I like him as an actor, but his publicist must be shaking his or her damn head at all the boneheaded/ignorant/classless decisions that this guy continues to make!!!

I guess it's true what they say! Money can't buy class!!!!

Oh well...........

And of course they ain't gonna fire him, Nekeeta. He kisses "Master Rauch's"
butt, as opposed to calling him out for being the racist, misogynist piece of BLEEP that he really is!!!

@Nekeeta Borden - Sony/Bells probably have some sort of clause build into their contracts for such cases. Teachers and other professionals have the same type of thing. I am sure if the backlash is too much, Y&R will give him the heave-ho! Darius is no Teflon Charlie!

Doctoromo77--

As long as Darius is kissing Paul Rauch's tail and not calling him and/or Maria out on their BS, I doubt that they'll get rid of him. Personally, I believe he should have been fired for how he talked/behaved during that radio interview (which I am not sure if you've heard or not, but if you haven't, you might wanna check it out!). But he wasn't!!

And until he gets convicted of this, it's hearsay. Plus, as Scooter Smith pointed out---- He had the best audition that this show had seen in years! And if anyone believes THAT, they truly need their head(Drunk examined!!!!

I'm a little surprised that, with these allegations (and the alleged witnesses), he wasn't charged with anything.

I guess we'll see how strong the moral clause in a Sony contract is...

@alstonboy4315 - If Darius is convicted and/or there is a perceived notion this could impact ratings, he will be gone. Paul and Maria may like him, but if Les Moonves orders Barbara Bloom to take the kill shot it is over. Darius is not Charlie Sheen and Y&R is not 2.5 Men.

This is hearsay. It's appalling that people are calling for McCrary to be fired without knowing all of the facts. McCrary may not be the best Malcolm but he does deserve the same kind consideration that anyone else would expect.

McCrary is going through a nasty divorce. Is there any evidence or proof to support these claims? If he did assault her, did his ex-wife press? Was he arrested? What evidence is there? Are there sworn statements from witnesses?

Just because someone is accused of something doesn't make it so.

As for McCrary being fired, look at another CBS TV star, Charlie Sheen. Sheen DID assault his current wife and has a LONG history of emotional and physical violence against the women in his life. After his recent arrest for HOLDING a KNIFE to his wife's throat, CBS gave him a multi-million dollar raise in pay to star in "Two and a Half Men"! Just a month or so ago, Sheen went on a rampage in New York and held a woman prisoner in his hotel room. What happened to him? Was he fired or forced off his show? No.

What..... Eddie Winslow beats up Superhead what is this world comming to. I;m not going to pass judgemnet until the evenidence comes out. Although the real restraining order should be Malcom Winters vs. Darius McCrary for his constat dismemberment of the Character of Malcom. And everytime he's on screen the evidence just mounts

Nice point Josstheguy..it will be interesting to see if CBS applies the same rules to everyone or if it all boils down to money. Charlie Sheen and 2 1/2 men make CBS ALOT more money than Darius McCrary and Y & R. It will be interesting to see thats for sure. IF he is fired, I wonder would the same rules apply if it was Victor Braeden aka The Great Victor Newman?

I personally feel that the same set of rules should apply to everyone and that every actor/actress should be subjected to a morals clause where some things just aren't tolerated. These people are role models and lend their names and faces to charities, causes, etc. Certain behavior should simply not be tolerated. That said, Darius is innocent until proven guilty.

FINALLY DC! I sent you this story when Perez had posted it like a WEEK OR TWO ago!! I just thought you wanted to protect him or something. I'm glad I was wrong in thinking that!

This man is clearly a monster. I don't like him on Y&R anyway. He is NO MALCOLM!! he needs to go!!!!!!!!

Supahead and Darius... both messy! Probably a match made in heaven.

But I agree, Darius should benefit from the same level a treatment Charlie Sheen receives. But this is the good U.S of A... where rules aren't exactly applied fairly.

Didn't that guy from OLTL get fired for "allegations" of bad behavior?? He assaulted police officers I think and ended up in a psych ward, and then got fired on the spot. I don't see how waiting for legal action to be taken in DM's case is very fair. Domestic violence is typically very hard to prove because of the way our courts are set up, and that assumes the victims are even willing to come forward.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. And even if she is exaggerating her claims (which I don't think she is) DM is no one I want to see as a love interest on a soap. He sucks as malcolm anyway. Watching him now just gives me the creeps!

I always liked him on Family Matters. I just don't like him on Y&R. It has nothing to do with the above report. I just find him boring as opposed to the show he did when he was a teenager.

Never know what to believe. I think one of the reasons legitimate complaints from the women of these actors don't get believed has to do with so many women looking for 15 minutes of fame.

I have to admit I doubted Denise Richard's story. I remember she was booted off DWTSs and she was not that bad. It is too bad for her she wasn't on it now. After these charges from different women, I believe all Denise claimed at the time. Denise is trying to keep things on an even keel with him. Charlie is his own worst enemy. I have to admit I was wrong about Denise R.

Arielade,

Where there's smoke, there are also lynchings of innocent black men as the history of the USA proves. Where is the evidence in this case?

The OLTL guy who was fired had a long history of problems on OLTL and on ATWT. OLTL had fired him but brought back to the show. He then went on a rampage and assaulted some people and a police officer. The OLTL actor had serious drug and mental health issues and OLTL bent over backwards to help him.

McCrary has no history of on set issues like the OLTL actor.

If McCrary is guilty of domestic violence, then a jury will put his butt in jail.

It's sad that people don't believe in innocent until guilty and want to see someone's life destroyed based on no clear evidence.

Speak that, Doc!  Anytime you are perceived as threat to someone's stacks, it's curtains for you.  Women, the target audience and largest percentage of Y&R viewers, won't take kindly to an abuser.  We do have to consider our source (we know how old girl loves attention, and she may just have another book to promote), though.  Prayers for all involved.

I didn't think the two of them were really married for some reason. Oh well. I'm indifferent to tell the truth. I remember getting beaten with a belt, as a kid, after I opened up a package of Nestle chocolate chips in the supermarket and started chowing down. My mother gave me the tarring of my life at home afterwards. Never did that again.

Damn, Darius, is all I really have to say.

Pumpkin,

Charlie Sheen had a long history of violence against women prior to Denise Richards' claims. Sheen is rich and white. The public and industry are willing to look the other way because Sheen makes them laugh or makes them a lot of money.

josstheguy, I get what you are saying and you make valid points.

But, your statement "If McCrary is guilty of domestic violence, then a jury will put his butt in jail" implies that people are routinely convicted of domestic violence, and that's just not the case. It takes a TON of evidence to hold up a domestic violence case in court, and just like rape cases, the victim has to prove that the crime was committed. The accused does not have to prove that the crime was NOT committed. It's a very hard line for battery victims to walk because there is so much shame and fear involved.

And you are totally right about symbolic media "lynchings" of black men, I don't disagree with you. But there are also simultaneous efforts to undermine and devalue black women as well, and we can't remove a woman's power any quicker than not believing her story of abuse when she is brave enough to come forward.

AlistairCrane,

I may not be a fan of McCrary's but I don't want anyone losing a job because of an accusation of domestic violence. Anyone can make stuff up to slime an ex.

Hello! Y&R has had a ton of stories of ex-lovers lying about each other or their exes' lovers to hurt them. That happens in real life.

Innocent people are framed and sent to death row because of lies, particularly if they are black. The New York Times just ran a story about a man 5 federal judges believe is innocent but is sitting on deathrow. The judges all believe that the police framed him. You can read the article here: http://nyti.ms/hdbJEh

Domestic violence is awful. If he's guilty, send him to jail. Fine. Dandy. But, lynch mob mentality is evil.
