All My Children Creates Muy Caliente Webisoap to Introduce Kendall's New Latin Lover!
By Jamey Giddens on November 12, 2010

It looks like ABC Daytime is finally getting the hang of this webisoap thing. Check out Griffin: The Back Story Part I — The Morning After, introducing Guiding Light alum Jordi Vilasuso as All My Children's Dr. Griffin Castillo.Tessa Munro also appears in the sexy, bite size saga, inspired by the extremely popular, Latin American telenovelas you find on channels like Telemundo and Univision. Thanks Josstheguy for the tip! Watch the clip, written by Sara Saedi and directed by Enza Dolce Nini, below.

All I'm waiting/watching for is David's return, and how he and former student Griffin interact!

Gee, a Castillo in Pine Valley. I wonder if that might make Marcy Walker Cruz back into town!

He'd be hotter if he didn't wax his chest. You can tell by looking at the stubble on his face that he would have a hairy chest. Why do all guys on daytime have to look like they are pre-pubescent?

Oh my. I actually liked Griffin. I thought he was sexy and well-played. I am looking forward to seeing him on AMC.
I know Jordi Vilasuso is joining the cast; what about Tessa Munro? I enjoyed their spunk together.

Jamey,
Happy to pass this on but I'm surprised that ABC's PR department didn't distribute a link to this webisode to DC and the other great soap web sites.

Muy caliente indeed.
I'm glad that ABC is doing this, it's a great way to use the web to generate interest in a new character and the soap. Jordi is so hot and I can't wait to see Griffin in PV.
I liked the very latin feel the webisode had (even using a Laura Pausini song)

Josstheguy, One Life to Live has gotten really good about sending us stuff, the other soaps, not so much, oh well. We don't trip on that. We say controversial things in an attempt to keep soap execs accountable, so that no doubt keeps us off VIP lists. LOL

Jamey,
I'm very happy that OLTL is smart enough to realize the great job DC does in promoting soaps while providing sincere, objective criticism.
The other soaps are simply STUPID, ARROGANT, and FOOLISH. Soaps do not have the luxury of ignoring or not pursuing an aggressive PR strategy that reaches out to DC and other soap sites. Given the ease at which information can be disseminated through email or Facebook, soaps that choose to ignore DC and other sites are just hurting themselves and their viewers.
All My Children invested in a quality short film to introduce Griffin Castillo. What use is that investment if no one knows about it? The goal of such a production should be viral distribution. Getting it out to as many people as quickly as possible with the goal of those people to distribute to their readers or social networks.
It's patently clear that All My Children is in the ratings dump. It should be doing every thing possible to entice viewers. If the character of Griffin Castillo is crucial to AMC's future as the creation of this webisode implies, then it is gross incompetence for the AMC team to not have spread this webisode as fast and wide as possible.
It's time that AMC or ABC Daytime's PR department gets off its high horse and get its act together. Frankly, I'm surprised that ABC does not try to get its soap stars on as many ABC properties as possible to generate buzz.
CBS seems willing to profile its Y&R and B&B stars on its primetime line up as guest stars. Why hasn't ABC found opportunities for its ABC stars to guest star in its dramas or comedies? ABC's the View and Good Morning America should have regular segments profiling ABC soaps--plots, characters, and actors.

This post isn't about this thread although I know from GL that Jordi is smoking and very tasty.
Little sweetie.
My hope is that Jamey or Luke sees this AMC news and starts a thread about it.
"La Lucci" which is Susan Lucci's autobiography now has a release date - April 5th, 2011 - the story of the fabulous Emmy-winning woman who sells a divine microdermabrasion system (satisfied customer here since 2005 or so...I've lost track) and who has played Erica Kane Martin Brent Cudahy Chandler Roy Montgomery Montgomery Chandler Marick Marick Montgomery (yes I can rattle that off in 5 seconds) since 1970 bitches!
I know what I'll be reading on the 15th to deal with the tears from having to owe like I always do!!

"DC is saying our shows suck, so let's freeze them out."
That's forward thinking, he says sarcastically. Instead, they should be saying, "Let's make our shows NOT suck, so DC will say good things about us."
That pretty much sums up the problem with network duh-xecutives.

Ooh, I'm suddenly very warm!
Gorgeous and a great actor to boot, he should indeed have sme stemy chemistry with Alicia Minshew.
It alos looks as though AMC has indeed got the hang of the webseries idea, this is so nuch better than that "What If" series. You could tell the production qualities were quite high. I look forward to seieng more episodes like this.
Thanks for sharing, Josstheguy!

Even though I'm not happy that he is replacing Zach as Kendall's main man, I hope that he helps bring some more viewers to the show. I am still afraid that the writing is not up to snuff. The show really needs to get rid of David Kreizman. Even though they are hitting us over the head with the Latin thing, I am glad to see some more "flava" on AMC.

Yes, right now AMC is running on a quarter tank of gas, and the way that Killer Kreizman is going, I fear that he may KILL again soon-- if you get my drift!!
They need to call up Pam Long, Claire Labine, Michael Malone, Thom Racina or any of the other OUT OF WORK writers who actually have a DECENT track record of writing soaps!
Or better yet, just hire someone new. I doubt they could do a worse job than Kreizman and Swajeski are doing right now.
I remember when AMC used to be MUST SEE TV!! Those days are LONG gone!!!!

And Jordi is HAWT, of course...
But time will tell if he has any real chemistry with Alicia Minshew. Maybe he can become Ryan 2.0 and start the next World War between Kendall and Greenlee???? At least that MIGHT push Ryan 1.0 off of the front burner a little bit??!!!

DC crew, Am I mistaking or didn't you guys say that this is exactly what the soaps should be doing with webisodes to promote the soaps? ( I think you were discussing the dull What if" webseries) As I was watching it I kept thinking of DC.
AMC has been extremely dull lately but I kinda get the feeling things are about to change. They got the Rylee reunion done with, Zendall is over and we have new actors and characters coming on ( and new storylines)
I'm thinking (hoping) it's the calm before the storm = drama.
I'm optimistic.
