Good for NBC, frankly I'm shocked but I'm happy 2013 definitely beats the one year deals that some soaps are getting/have gotten in the past. Longer term storytelling can now hopefully be focused on.

Congrats Days! This is great news for the soap opera industry. I just hope the ratings start going back up. They have the right pieces they just need to start putting them together. I think NBC would be smart to stand by and let the other two networks crumble in on themselves. Hope the next two years are great.

I am beyond thrilled that DOOL has been renewed for two years. I appreciate NBC for renewing the show and cannot wait to see what is in store for my favorite residents of Salem. Now, go ahead, NBC and really impress by partnering with Procter and Gamble and bringing a new soap on with AW's Felicia, ATWT's Barbara, and GL's Lillian.

These are words I thought I would not ever say but how about bringing Sheri Anderson back as HW....... (ya know that hurt my feelings just to say that.) She has the back ground and the experience and seems to really care about the show. After what has been going on with Dena Higley and with JER sometime before her, I think I could even enjoy Sheri's version of DAYS again.
Congrats to Ken Corday the crew and the cast! I know they must feel like a survivors of a shipwreck floating on the ocean sometimes. This will atleast give them some breathing room. Just please put it to some good use. No more dragging the story out and no more repetitive dialogue. Really I promise to watch anything else! Within reason ofcourse lol.

As a former viewer of both ATWT and GL and now a viewer of DOOL, I am absolutely thrilled for the cast, crew, and most of all, the fans!

@ TV Gord: LOL LOL LOL LOL

Now, that's the kind of humor we need to see on these boards, unlike some of the negative crap a certain person continues to post on the CBS boards (yes, I mean you Alistair Crane)!

This is only good news for newer viewers and a small percentage of older viewers. For veteran Days fans like me, this is unhappy news because it means another two years of Days churning out horrible story after horrible story, focusing on characters who don't deserve to be on this show (Melanie, Daniel, Rafe, Gabi, Chad, etc.). Higley will continue to destroy Days for almost three more years before this show is finally put out of its misery. Now if only NBC could bring JER back from the dead to write Days again, I'd be happy!

One question: Since Days debuted in November 1965, shouldn't it be renewed through NOVEMBER 2013?

It seems every year the chances of Days getting renewed hangs by a pube.

Nice to know we have Salem USA for at least 2 more years!

I'm happy for this.

Next order of business: Fire Dena Higley!
Though I doubt it will come true.

Now that the show's been renewed, they'll praise Dena to high heaven and possibly INCREASE her role at Days. Ugh.

With JER dead, the only other writer I'd like to see take on Days is Sheri Anderson.

Someone needs to do something with Days s/ls. They sucks and someone needs to be fired. Bring on some fresh blood to save Days.

This great news for Days!!!!

Now only if they get rid of Dena Higley as H/W, get rid of some characters, and bring back some favorites, Days will be the soap to watch again.
