Joy Behar Calls Sharron Angle a "Moron" and "Bitch" on The View

After taking Bill O'Reilly to task for a racist conflation he made on The View about Muslims and 9/11, Joy Behar proved she's consistent by blasting Sharron Angle for an inflammatory political ad on Tuesday's show. Angle, the Republican contender for Nevada's Senate seat (currently held by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid) released a campaign spot portraying Latino youth as dangerous and threatening to innocent white children. Behar criticized Angle on The View, in the kind of entertaining display you won't be seeing on The Talk. Watch after the jump!

My only problem with it is that Joy made the same type of nasty and bigoted generalization, when she implied that if Angle said the same type of thing in a Latino neighborhood that she would get beaten up. Instead of just saying that the ad was offensive and ignorant, Joy just reinforced the stupid idea that Latinos will handle any problem with violence.

I agree that Sharon Angle isn't qualified to be a U.S. Senator (it shows you how little respect that the voters of Nevada have for Harry Reid that she's doing as well as she is and may win) but to call her a "bitch" and a "moron" is that the best argument you have? All that does is energize Angle's base and give them more motivation to go to the polls, so the "moron" here, I think is Joy Behar.

THe ad is lousy, but Joy is classless. I would never declare my refusal to pray for someone, even people I dont like. I would also love to see what Joy's reaction would be to the commercials John Dingle has run here in Michigan - he has older person after older person speaking in these frail voices saying that his opponent is going to cut off their Social Security. At least with Sharon Angle while the pictures are offensive, the content of the ad is correct - Nevada's citizens of ALL races are losing out on jobs to illegal immigrants most of whom are coming in over our southern border. Conversely JD's adds are a total distortion, as none of the proposals being offered up to reform Social Security has application for current recipients. Its fearmongering designed to scare the elderly into supporting more of the same.

What is amazing about this dimwitted woman is that she can spew her venom when the person is not sitting next to her. She is not entertaining, funny, or even intelligent when her argument is to call people names. Furthermore, if she would show outrage over all ads that are offensive regardless of party, she might be more credible. From what I have read there is documented proof that Behar is a bigot herself regarding people who pray or those that are christian. I don't live in Nevada but I am informed enough to know that the jobless numbers are through the roof there. Reid needs to answer to that as do all politicians who fail the people they serve rather than serve themselves. Ms. Behar is in for a treat on Election Day. She should be a raving lunatic by then.

Why even bother in engaging in discussion with the DC writers and contributors. In their world all conservatives or non-liberals are racists, bigots, sexists or homophobes. You will never see them praise or defend a conservative EVER.

One can certainly offer an opinion or response to a political issue or representative it is how you go about it that matters. Rather than using the m or b word that Joy used how about ill informed or not having all the facts would be far more classy. There are many varying degrees of liberal or conservative voters and people out there to put labels or assumptions because of how one votes one way or the other is non productive and is prejudicial.

Smitty I dont see anyone praising the ad - I just dont think one ad necessarily means that she is a racist nor do I think being concerned about ILLEGAL immigration makes one a bigot. You have to remember she probably has a bunch of DC campaign strategists talking in her ear about how to run a campaign and Personally I agree with Dyllan, neither choice really appeals to me. All I know is that ultimately Harry Reid is leading an agenda that is bankrupting this nation and I think it is obscene to continue to foist our CURRENT issues on to future generations. THAT is my number one issue.
Where I think you are seeing some negativity is the manner in which Joy voiced her objections to the ad. If she is not a prayerful person, then she doesnt pray for anyone - thats her choice and I respect that - but if she IS a prayerful person then she knows that we are to pray all people even our enemies. You can pray that they become more tolerant, you can pray for them to have a greater understanding of the world and to become more loving, but to say someone is a beyotch and that you would never pray for them is spiteful and I agree with Hoosier that is hypocritical to speak out against hatred with hatred of your own. I also question what shows like the View really contribute to the national political discourse. To me its just name calling and screeching instead of real dialog and debate. Joy knows that when she throws a temper tantrum like this she gets press. I dont even think its so much righteous indignation or "snapping" so much as its a calculated ploy for ratings.
