Put him with Kelly! Shaun is the only guy Kelly has chemistry with on this show.

Yes! Congratulations to Sean! Hopefully, we'll see more of him and the rest of the Evans family. Given the loss of Tika Sumpter, Jason Tam, and Terrell Tilford, it is nice to see OLTL adding to actors of color to contract roles.
Let's just hope that Sean is not treated like Y&R's actors of color, trotted out once or twice month but is given a strong storyline.

This is AWESOME news. He's such a good actor and fun to watch. OLTL needs to bring back Hank, Rachel, and Layla, too. Diversity is essential for soaps to survive!

Thats the best casting/contracting move OLTL has made in ages. Congrats to Sean!!!

MY HEAD IS TWITCHING: This was just a ploy to keep the actor on set.. I believe this has more to do with Destiny than Shaun.. Destiny is quickly becoming the fan favorite in that 16-18 demo and she needs some semblance of a family.
I believe shauns storylines will be as leading as Vickies have been... AKA.. he will be there for destiny when she gets herself in a mess...

Now that he is on contract I wish even more they had gone the way I imagined with Greg's secret -- it's a tad lame for Greg to put Tea through all that just to keep his being Destiny's father a secret. I was hoping it would be that while Sean was in prison when Destiny was born -- Sean's girl had come to the family pregnant -- Greg and his parents conspired to raise the baby by Dr. Greg saying that the baby died... now that story would be worth keeping secret. Imagine how Sean would feel knowing that his parents and brother kept his daughter from him, imagine how Destiny would feel learning who her father was and how it life wold change if they brought Destiny's bio mom to town... oh well...

Great News
So Shaun Used To Be In Jail
I Think It Would Have made More If Shaun Was Destiny's Dad
My Idea:
Shaun was in Jail and his GF got pregnant but kept it hidden until she went into labor early. She went to Greg who deliverd Des but the GF began to bleed out & Greg Couldnt save her
Greg told his folks and they decided that since shaun was in jail they would say Des was their kid and shaun's sister

Wait, Greg is Destiny's father? That's lame...they have NO sibling or father/daughter chemistry at all! Why make Greg the father when he's leaving the series?

I win. I bet someone would spin this into something negative instead of just being positive about it and here it is.

Rock on, Shaun! I'm anxious to see what kind of story they give him now that he's on contract. I'd like him to become Dorian's right hand man. I think they would play well off each other! Can't you just picture Dorian "talkin' jive" the way Mrs. Cleaver did in the Airplane movie? The way Dorian thinks she's fluent in French and Spanish, she is truly the Peggy Hill of daytime! LOL!

What is to win, and the poster wasn't being negative just speaking the truth. It seems OLTL is set on only have two black actors on contract at at time their is nothing positive about that fact. If this was truly good news then Sean should have been made contract months ago and not on the heels of losing the one contract male black actor it just seems more as a switch.
I am truly happy for Sean on a personal level it means more money in his pocket but I am not naive enough to even think that this means huge story for him and the Evan family, Tika was on contract and what did that earn her.
Putting Sean on contract means nothing and that is not negativity talking that's reality. If OLTL wanted to do something with the Sean character they would have done so already. This is just a lame attempt at keeping their black quota at two so they can claimed they diversity standing in some folks eyes. Why are some so reluctant to see the truth about soaps, they don't do black.

It was Tika's choice to leave OLTL, but you're spinning it to sound as though she was dumped. See? You're being overly negative, but you don't want to hear it.

Soapster, you are 100% correct. The show runners at OLTL have absolutely no intention of really doing anything with Shaun. He's just window dressing so that they can claim to have a diverse cast and perhaps to make themselves feel better. If you believe otherwise, you are either naive or you know nothing about the history of daytime drama with regard to racial diversity.
Alistair Crane, I suppose your heart is in the right place, but do you honestly believe that they would ever put Shaun with a caucasian woman? IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. I don't see Shaun getting a love interest at all. They might throw some nameless, unknown black girl on his arm for good measure (like Y&R did with Devon), but there will be no story there. They might have put the Vega boys with caucasian women, but Shaun? NEVER.
BTW, I don't blame Tika for leaving. They weren't using her, anyway.

I'm happy that the actor has a contract since he has been around for several years.

Why should they put Shaun with a white woman? What's the big deal? He's already with Vivian! On most soaps you don't have black people dating each other because there's only one black family in town! Right now, OLTL has three! I'm not saying you need to hold a parade for the producers to say thanks, but to continue to slam them so relentlessly when they DO have a very diverse cast just tells me some people don't know when to stop complaining.

^^ Um, because Kelly's been back for almost 9 months and Shaun's the only guy she has chemistry with. THAT'S why.

I don't think Gina has chemistry with anyone, so they should cut her from the cast. (Then, as a bonus for me, I could bitch and moan that they've cut another white actor from the cast! ;-D)

^^ That would be awful because Gina rocks. Hopefully she has chemistry with the new Joey, because Kelly was hot with Nathan Fillion and Don Jeffcoat's Joeys. Otherwise, put her with SHAUN!! I liked it when he was her bodyguard.

Actually, I have to admit she had chemistry with Don Jeffcoat. I sadly wasn't watching OLTL when Nathan was on, but he'd have chemistry with Ben Stein. I just sense desperation in every scene she's in since she returned.

Shaun is the only member of that family that I like. In the scenes where the parents revealed to Destiny that she was their granddaughter, he was the only one who wasn't over the top. That little girl who plays Destiny has potential but she wasn't showing it to me in those scenes. I hope they do give Shaun more screentime and his own story.

I'm glad that Sean Reingold will be getting a contract. Even if he doesn't get much more story-wise, [which would be a shame!] at least he will be getting more money. And I'm willing to bet Shaun will be getting at least a little more screentime. After all, with Greg dead I bet Destiny will need her "uncle" Shaun to step up and be a father figure to her.
