CNN's Anderson Cooper Close To Sealing Daytime Talk Show Deal
By Jillian Bowe on September 29, 2010

Daytime could be adding another talker to the mix. According to The Hollywood Reporter, CNN's Anderson Cooper is near a deal to net himself a daytime talk show for syndication. The trade publication claims Cooper is currently negotiating with Warner Bros. Domestic Television and Telepictures Productions for a show that could launch by Fall 2011. No word on what exactly the chat fest's theme would be. As of right now, Cooper's vehicle would feature topics ranging from world issues to celebrity news. The paper is also stating Cooper's show is being viewed as a possible replacement for The Oprah Winfrey show, once The Mighty O leaves daytime for OWN.

Everytime he laughs I melt!
I don't know if daytime needs another talk show but since no cancelled soaps are making way for this it's ok with me.
I'll check it out.

I get most of my night-time news from AC. Judging from his ratings, I guess I'm one of only a few who do. This probably means the end of that.
My unsolicited, shallow advice would be for Coop to lose the suit. Those fitted T-shirts he wears on remote locations are really something. He can "talk" to me anytime he wants.

Exactly!
Those black t-shirts always get me going...
What I would LOVE is if he replaced Regis. He and Kelly are always to quote JJ: dy-no-mite!

Boys behave!
But really my little gay heart is fluttering at the thought of both Nate Berkus and Anderson Cooper on during daytime!

I guess I'm the only one not excited about this. Anderson Cooper has always screamed "serious journalist" to me and him doing a talk show seems beneath him, unless it's more "Today" and less "Regis and Kelly"

Maybe he'll take over for Oprah! I agree with Maven though, it's too bad that he won't be doing serious journalism anymore, he's wonderful on AC360 where he does in depth reporting on signicant issues. I thought his month in Haiti and reporting in New Orleans were important in showing the devastation of those situations. I like that he has great reporting skills and a good heart that always shows through in his work.

Perhaps this gives hopes that Mark Consuelos can take over the second chair when Regis retires any minute now. Until now Mr Cooper was the lead candidate to be paired with Kelly.

I wish there was an "indifferent" button for this link. Anderson Cooper has never really done it for me. Something about him just screams "Spoiled little rich boy who 'worked' his way to the top on the wings of nepotism"...............
Not really a fan..............
YAWN!! Naptime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cute yes boring yes but maybe he could fill a hole that has been missing in daytime since Phill Donahue retired.
Daytime needs a serious talk show that is about more than whos the baby daddy and why some black guys only date white women and why trailer trash only like to sleep with their girlfriends fat momma. Talk on daytime ( with the exception of the view and oprah) is sorry. Regis and Kelly are like sitting down w/coffee and waking up in the morning. But after I am awake, maybe I would like to have some serious real discussions on my tv. And not the fox pseudo news network kind. And maybe a little lighter than the Maclaughlin group. Donahue was perfect. Maybe Anderson could just copy him.

Considering AC: 360 ratings are horrible. He avg 582K total viewers and only 180K in 25-54 during 3Q 2010 down 40% from last year at this time and that's in prime time. What a flipping joke. I wonder what his daytime ratings will be. So to put it in perspective. ATWT drew 4-5X the number of viewers in daytime vs. primetime. And, even though it's cable, CNN still reaches a huge number of households.

Oh Yuck. I am 63 and Anderson Cooper seem's like a old man to me. Replace Oprah no way. Daytime TV get's worse every time a show leave's the air. Pretty soon I am just going to tape night time TV and play it back in the daytime.

Cooper should stay far away from Daytime. All of his tight black shirts can't bring him any ratings in Primetime. I think his only few followers are gay guys bec he's (kinda) closeted. Does anyone take him seriously? He has no talent. All he does is read the news from a teleprompter.
