Good. Even though certain developments drove me away from OLTL this summer (Evil Eli, the Ford brothers, etc.), I like these two.

I don't think Valentini and Carlivati have anything to do with some of the recent storyline developments that seem to have gone askew. But hopefully these 2 year/3 year renewals will bless them both with the freedom to express however they see fit on the Llanview canvas.

I don't think the adventures of the emo rapist Todd, his weeping soulmate Tea, and their loud daughter is anyone but Carlivati. He is obsessed with that relationship and rewriting the entire canvas to suit it.

I'm glad the show will still have two more years, I just wish it was not with this crap and the Fords and the constant returns from David.

Woohoo! Finally some GOOD news for the soap world! Now if only Frons would leave them alone to create the stories as they see fit. He obviously has SOME comfidence in them as evidenced by this multi-year deal. Frons, go tinker w/ AMC if you fancy yourself a storyteller. Lord knows you can't screw THAT show up any worse than it already is! Leave Frank and Ron alone!

You crack me up Carol2, that is the best description ever of Todd, Tea and Danielle. I was so hoping Tea really did die! She's the real show eater and I do not like this wussyy version of Todd. Good luck wih the two extra years OLTL, hopefully good changes will come and I can actually watch it consistently again.

I'm glad just getting into it. It's a blast seeing Jeffery and Hillary again. Glad that ABC owns the rights to their soaps guess that makes it better. Unlike CBS doesn't care about their soaps.

I'd like to know what is you alls drug of choice, cuz this is terrible news. These two have no clue what to do with OLTL, they proved that when they brought back Andrea Evans and put her in that rediculous story with Jessica's alters. Carlivati clames to be a fan of the show but every story he writes that involves the shows history he gets the history wrong and lets on even start on some of the rediculous stories that are on the show now. The only time OLTL has been worth watching this century is when Gary Tomlin was in charge of the show. At this point cancelation would be the best news for OLTL, put this poor show out of its misery cuz its not gettting any better and honestly the same could be said for the rest of the soaps they all suck now and need to be cancled.

The Reason OLTL sucks Now is Brian Frons. Frank & Ron Present stories to Frons and he turns them down flkat or greenlights them and then changes his mind half-way

Look If Frons didnt but in & Let Frank & Ron do what they wanted. This show would be on fire everyday

As for Andrea, a lot of that had to do with her not staying in NYC and going back and forth to LA every week. So Unfortuantley story suffered and Andrea Left

Haven't watched in 5 months, AMC and OLTL were my mom's soaps along with Ryan's Hope, I added GH as it was the only one I could watch everyday after school but it was my least favorite until I was forced to stop watching AMC and more recently OLTL.

This is not good news to me: either the mess currently running on WABC in New York at 2pm is the work of these two men or they don't have the cojones to move on rather write the drivel that Frons prefers in either case I can't respect them.

I'm sorry but its stop blaiming Frons for everything wrong with the ABC Soaps. He hired these fools to write and produce the show so he is responsible, but I doubt he is the one writting these rediculous plots Its its time to stop giving thse two idiots praise all they have done is help dig OLTL's grave even further. I tried watching during the 40th anniversary and it was horrible. These two are hacks along with pretty much everyone else whose in charge of a daytime soap these days.

Oh and Adrea Evans schedule had nothing to do with the bad story she was given. First off Tina would have never helped Messica lock Natalie in the secrect room. When we last saw Tina she and Viki had a great realtionship had matured she may have done that back in the 80's but not now. Honestly all they had to do was put Tina in some scenes with Dorian and Bliar and have them go at it a few times, Tina really didn't need a story she just needed to be put in the orbit of characters she used to interact with. If Carlivati and Valentini coulnd't figure that out they should have been on the unemployment line a long time ago.

If one hates the show so much they have to post something so mean than seriously why are you watching the show to begin with? Get a life!

Now to my thoughts about the show and the news!

I feel that it is good news as changing a writer changes a lot. While some bad needs to go there is a lot of good that can stay. I myself like the Danielle story and hope Tea isn't leaving at all or at least not in a body bag. As far as the Fords go I can get behind those hunks any day. I am excited for Echo to come to town and hope that Bo and her had a fling and Rex is a Buchanon or maybe a secret love child of hers and Clint. That would give Clint and Vicki a much needed storyline and cement Rex to the canvas! i have to say that Marko and Greg leaving are no biggie to me. Cole leaving is not good but we will survive as he isn't gonna die. Matthew becoming a real Buchanon is good! I love how he is acting like Asa and hope they actually find him a love interest. With the news of Joey coming to town maybe his big brother will too! Where is CJ Roberts? They need to bring him back! Robin Strauser needs a love interest and Kelly and Joey need to reunite! The baby storyline better end the right way and have John and Nat have a kid and Brody and Jess have a kid. Please don't mess up the best couple in Jess and Brody! I am all for a round two of Todd and Blair but wouldn't mind seeing RH return as a Todd double! That would be interesting! What is the point of Charlie anymore now that they killed off his kid? Clint and Vicki back together please! Lastly let them write as they choose and Frons find a new hobbie! I agree go fiddle with AMC. Stay the heck away from OLTL and GH!

To acespencer: I haven't wasted any of my time on OLTL on a daily basis since 2008 when I was between jobs and even with nothing better to do I ended up turning that crap off. Since then I may have seen one entire episode of OLTL and that was around christmas time. I'm not gonna waste anytime on this show that should have been put out of its misery at least 5 years ago.

The stories on OLTL are awesome. I will include the Ford family. Anybody that complains of this shows stories just watch GH and then come back and complain.GH characters/stories terrible.Writers are woman haters.

I am glad the current writers are staying. I have watched the show for two years and I have liked ALL the stories even the ones they dropped. Oh I will admit one exception: Mitch stuff. Since I was not a longtime viewer, I just didn't get the Mitch stuff. .....Yea, OLTL goes on.

Are all of you on crack? Name one thing that is working on this show right now before you praise what good news this is.

I think this is great news. These guys did it once they can do it again. It's easy to point out what we don't like about the show but let's not forget all the great moments we've gotten over the last few years--Viki in Paris Texas, Matthew's accident and struggle, the controversial but ratings boon for OLTL rapemance--when the show's good it's on fire. When it's not...well, there are peaks and valleys in every show. The sheer number of episodes made each year make it virtually impossible to be on fire all the time but it's obvious the effort is there. We need only to look at how incredible the show looks each day to see how much care Valentini and Carlivati put into it. Whether I love the stories or not I'm glad the show is on and this feels like a vote of confidence.

Could be just another lie by ABCD to trick people into not bailing out in the show's last year.

Meh...there's still no reason for me to watch anymore. All the characters/actors I like are gone or will be leaving.

I really can't decide if this is good news or bad news. I do read all the updates and spoilers here, but have not faithfully watch this show since the end of June. My daughter does on occasion, so I will catch bits and pieces, but I hate what they've done to a show I had watched since high school...more than 25 years.

Not to beat a dead horse (since I know someone or other will crawl up my back for this) but for me the beginning of the end was when they tossed Kish out of town. I think Ron and Frank missed out on some interesting storylines when they did that. I did enjoy the 2 actors and their characters and didn't like the abrupt end to their story.

But it goes way beyond that...to the trashing of Eli, who I saw as the anti-Todd; the ready- made Ford family, who had no ties to Llanview; this ridiculousness with Greg, who always bored me, but now suddenly is a party to kidnapping, drugging, faking a death and murder, when you get right down to it. We never see Viki, they've made Dorian into a pathetic whiner who leaves the house in disguise since being dumped by "guest star" David Vickers. Clint is now the "new" Asa?? Nope, not buying it. Asa could be a ruthless SOB, but he was all about family and Clint is slowly trying to rip his apart.

Maybe these new contracts are a vote of confidence, but I don't think I have the confidence in these two to start watching again. I hope I'm wrong...I'd hate to see it cancelled.
