The Martha Stewart Show BOMBS Like a Dinner Party With Plastic Forks on Hallmark Channel!
By Luke Kerr on September 15, 2010

She may be an iconic homemaking maven, who puts Desperate Housewives’ Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross) to shame, but when Martha Stewart’s new Hallmark Channel show gets taken to the woodshed and spanked in the ratings by Little House on the Prairie and Golden Girls reruns you know there is a problem.
According to The Live Feed, the 10 a.m. airing of The Martha Stewart Show on the Hallmark Channel dropped 61 percent from Golden Girls reruns during the same time a year ago and the 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. re-airings dropped 67 and 71 percent from Little House on the Prairie reruns a year ago. Even worse, the Hallmark Channel’s 25-54 target female audience was down significantly.

I think people have to actually LIKE the host to watch the show and i have a feeling that most people (like me) HATE her and do not want to waist our time watching her dumb show.

I actually find Martha Stewart to be mildly charming (when she wants to be!), but I must ask: How much money, power, prestige, exposure does this woman really NEED????

I actually like Martha as well, but I think she should go back to her original format, and not an hour-long talk show.

I'm surprised that Golden Girls reruns are being used as a benchmark for low ratings. They have always done well in syndication, very very well.
I enjoyed Martha Stewart's syndicated show. I don't care about a talk show.
