Ex-As The World Turns Star Paul Leyden Heads To Y&R

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that former As The World Turns hunk, Paul Leyden is Genoa City bound! According to the magazine, the actor will appear on The Young and the Restless in the role of Blake. Leyden's first airdate is slated for Oct.6. No word on whether Leyden will be reunited onscreen with former ATWT co-star Maura West.

I can certainly see Paul Leyden figuring heavily into Cane and Lily's storyline. Both Paul and Daniel (Cane) are from Australia. This was a no-brainer for Y&R.

ANOTHER new character??? Pretty soon, this show is gonna have so many characters that the network will have no choice but to bump this it up to 2 hours a day!! LOL!!! He's a good actor, but do they REALLY need another new character??????

Paul should be playing Phillip's Australian boyfriend, providing a plausible explanation for why Phillip prefers not to be living in Genoa City, instead of the cattle-rustling nonsense.

How scandalous would it be if the show made Noah gay, and had Phillip start seeing Noah? Sharon and Nick would flip the eff out! That would be a story!
Back on topic though, I think I would like to see if they put him (Paul Leyden's Character) in Diane's(Maura West)orbit.

Like Y&R needs another former soap star. Seems like anytime an actor/actress is fired from the show they are on or goes off the air, Y&R just has to have them, even though the cast is already full. Give another soap a chance to get some of these actors.

I agree this character will be Heavy with Cane...however, Sharon needs a new piece and since she's already slept w/everyone on canvas, I can see this pair up. I just wanna add how much I love, love, love Vicki & Billy. The writers have hit the jackpot with these two!!! Its also hard to bash Amelia H. These days...Billy Miller clearly brings out the best in his leading ladies!!!

Y&R does need a decent gay story line that actually has some legs and stamina. Sadly what they start here always fizzles out and disappears. Right now you would hardly even know that Rafe is gay but him together Phillip could work. I just don't think Phillip is really all that hot or interesting so that could just be boring. Having a gay Newman could be interesting in the form of the new Noah though, then Victor can start alienating his grandchildren after his children have all given up on him. Michael Graziadei has played gay in other shows to good effect and he would be hot if he gave up on women but of course that is a far flung idea.
Rafe is already gay but they would need to make him even more interesting. He is hot though and he'd be hotter if paired with a nice new red haired masculine man. But then that is just my fantasy.

Does Y&R really need him? This is starting to get old, but looking on the bright side, he will probably be used for that awful cattle rustler storyline with Lily and Cane, and that storyline will need all the help it can get. I don't mind a gay storyline on Y&R, but not with PC3. I find the actor to be kind of stiff and boring.
