General Hospital: Perkie's Observations
Johnny wakes up to find Olivia at his bedside and wonders why she’s there, since the last time he looked, they were on the outs. But she’s determined not to lose him again.
Jax pays Michael a visit and they discuss his plans for his future. Michael insists he’s not going back to high school. Jax assures him that he should at least get his high school equivalency.
Alexis and Kristina are at Kelly’s discussing back to school when Carly shows up and informs them that Sonny has fled the country. Carly assures Kristina that Sonny loves her. Kristina is torn between her feelings for her father and her feelings about him leaving. Alexis says she feels sadness and relief.
Jason takes Sam to GH, where she gets her ankle looked at. Claire grabs Jason (Seriously, was she lying in wait for him to show up?) and insists that he tell her where Sonny is. Jason assures her that he’s been too busy getting rid of Lopez’ men. Claire tells him to contact her if and when he hears from Sonny.
Edward, Monica and Tracy are going at it in typical Quartermaine fashion. Maya’s on her way out, when who should drag her sorry butt into the mansion? None other than Brook Lynn, with her tail between her legs. She admits to helping Carly try to break up Lante, but says when she changed her mind, Carly fired her. Tracy’s weary of her granddaughter, but Edward’s happy to have her home. Brook says she’ll go back to school for business, but when the others leave the room, Brook grabs Edwards’ cell phone and is caught by Tracy, trying to transfer 50 thousand dollars from Edward’s accounts. Brook leaves the Quartermaine mansion, determined to make it without their help.
Nikolas has a brief scene with Steven, where they discuss Liz and how happy she and the boys are with Sarah. Steve thanks Nik for setting the whole thing up. Nikolas then shares a brief scene with Robin where they discuss affairs, as she tells him what’s been happening with Lisa and Patrick. Next, Nikolas runs into Brook, in the rain outside Kelly’s, where she was planning on getting a room. He says he has a better idea and ushers her away.
Carly meets with Michael to tell him Sonny took off, but he tells her he already knows, that he saw Sonny before he left and urged him to go. She makes him swear not to tell Dante, as he can’t be trusted.
Jax meets with Alexis and they discuss the Sonny situation. While Jax is happy that Sonny is gone, he is upset that the kids get caught in the middle.
Kristina pays Michael a visit. He tells her not to give up on Sonny, and she’s rather upset by how and what she should be feeling.
Diane goes to Jason to ask him why Sonny would go to Rome. Jason realizes that Sonny went to see Brenda, which doesn’t sit well with Diane, since she knows Brenda is a high celebrity person. Carly shows up, demanding to know where Sonny went.
Maya tells Johnny that she’s grateful he survived, and tells him the basics of Sonny being arrested while Johnny was hospitalized. When Claire shows up to get Johnny’s statement, he tells her that Sonny shot him, with no provocation, which Olivia overhears.

So we have a day without Sonny and (it pains me that this gives me pleasure) Dante; a big dose of Quartermaine dysfunction (no matter how ridiculous i.e I'd rather be a whore than take some college classes and have all the money I need from my family); and the inexplicably sidelined Alexis and Jax, and what do you know, you have an episode that leaves me entertained instead of in need of a Xanax! I think either Guza was on vacation when this script was written or they just crammed all the non Sonny/Dante stuff into one episode so Guza can point to it when he LIES in interviews about caring about the Quartermaines or writing a good and balanced show. Either way, I am sure he was pissed that there were no shootouts, Sonny whining, Dante being ruined by compromising himself for Sonny, blurred out gratuitous sex scenes, or boring Brenda scenes in some stupid and contrived plot.
If Carly hates Sonny as she is proclaiming these days, then I am not sure why she cares if Michael talks about him leaving with Dante, but that is just Carly being Carly, so I won't loose too much time wondering about that.
When Michael told Kristina that her being emotional (or something like that), I got kind of grossed out because it sounded like a come on, and as far as they are concerned they are brother and sister. I don't necessarily see them as siblings, but everyone on the show seems to accept Sonny as Michael's dad as gospel, so who am I to argue.

It WAS good to see the Qs! Monica and Edward looked better than last I remember. Good makeup and hair on Monica and it was nice to see Ingle without his cap and with his hair slicked back. Tracy looked great as always.
One quibble. MUST Maya be written as relentlessly anti-Q? Her line about to Brook Lyn about "Why would you want to live HERE" seemed especially ungrateful. Really? A little appreciation, its a MANSION you are living in Y'KNOW? Some people have it worse off?
The character could really use a sense of humor or something to liven her up.

Do people realize that it is the first time IN A YEAR (minus 13 days) that we have in the same show no Sonny and his fist born Mini-Me on screen ? WHAT A RELIEF ! And what a surprise, it allowed us to get the Qs and Alexis ... and a more balanced show ... what a coincidence ?
So happy too that Johnny gave back to Sonny a taste of his own medecine, you frame me - I frame you ! Well done Johnny ! And thanks Maya for the heads up ! And why do I see more chemistry between Maya and Johnny than Ethan and Maya (Maya was REALLY happy that Johnny wake up) ?
I was so happy that I even tolerated brainless Lulu who still has not figured out that Brook would never outsmart Carly and that Carly must have been behind the whole thing.
Poor Brook. But she is feisty and will come back on her feet. Just wanted her to check on Johnny as Carly cannot prevent her anymore to see him ...

I agree with y'all that I don't like Mayas' attitude towards the Q's, they are helping her in so many ways with a MANSION to live in and live in housekeepers/cook etc...she's very ungrateful. You could always move into a room at Kellys and be a REAL struggling doctor!
Hated the Olivia/Johnny crap. Can we PLEASE send her and her spawn back to Bensonhearst???
I know it's a personal thing but I was UBER annoyed at Claire grabbing Jason THREE times at the hospital. If that was ME, it woulda resulted in THREE punches to the face. Do NOT touch me! I want to like her SO much but her tight mouth when she is being serious is just a NO!
And anybody else find it funny that Alexis told Kristina that "He'll be back, I promise." and Carly told Michael, "He ain't comin' back." Alexis knows best!
Maxie and LooLoo's convo about who's the bigger skank, Maxie or Brook...Maxie says, "She didn't fake a pregancy and miscarriage..." LooLoo says, (basically)"Oh, Maxie, it wasn't THAT bad..." WHAT??! She fed your BROTHER drugs, slept with him(a married man), faked a pregnancy and miscarriage, broke up his marriage....WTH?? Damn, she seems stupider by the minute!

I am from NYC (but not Brooklyn) and it's true that I am not that used to that but I bet that if you were calling me "honey" I would NOT find it as infuriating as Olivia calling a nurse "honey" LOL

And I am happy that Maya told Johnny about "no gun" because I don't see why Sonny could frame Johnny (by MURDERING someone !!!) and Johnny could not use the situation (without killing anyone ... just taking advantage of a situation already created by somebody else) to do the same with Sonny. Because thanks to Sonny, Johnny is still on bail for "having killed Lopez" when we all know he didn't do it. And he is on the way of being judged for a crime he didn't commit (and which clearly doesn't interest Dante one bit, funny no ?).
For me Johnny would have been really stupid if he had told the truth after what Sonny did to him during the two past months. It is a little bit too easy for Sonny to suddenly wants peace after putting a bomb under Johnny's car and framing him. Time to pay (just a little little bit Mr Corinthos !)

Actually in my line of work I deal with a lot of men and I could never remember all their names so saying Ok darling just comes naturally and they never seemed to mind. LOL 
It's just something that I always heard growing up in the south so it doesn't seem like a negative thing to me. But I can see how it might be perceived negatively like FFIT said. It just didn't hit me that way.

Woohoo my Johnny is awake. I have to watch how the convo with Claire continues today because for me Johnny is doing what he does best....telling the truth just not the whole truth. I didn't hear him say he didn't have a gun just that SOnny talked peace and then pop pop. The one thing I have always loved about Johnny (aside from the obvious) is that he speaks the gospel and even when he omits small details he really isn't lying. Kind of like he did when he was on the stand testifying against Sonny. Whoever writes for Johnny should write for the entire show.
Sassy I am with you on the Claire and Jason thing. I mean once I might be taken aback but two more times there would be a beat down. That would of been the only time I would have taken Sam in a scene so she could tell Claire to step off.
I don't hate Olivia but the back and forth is making me dizzy.
WTF was wrong with Nik's hair when he was talking with Steve I couldn't get it out of my head that something was off.
Nice to see the Q's but it just makes me sad because that will probably be it for the month, and it pisses me off because in one episode they manage to do what nothing else on this show can make me do....smile and remind me how great it used to be
My two cents - I am from NY and my mother calls everyone sweetie, as a kid it drove me nuts but as an adult I find myself doing it..grrrrr

I was born in NY, raised in GA and now live in NJ. For me it is now commonplace to call someone "Hun", "Sweetie" or "Darlin". In the south it is done often and is not meant in a derogatory way. Color me confused when I moved to NJ 12 years ago and women got upset and offended by it. I have never had a man get upset about it, but women seem to not like it a lot up here
So I have adjusted and just use the term in reference to my daughters, husband or close friend. OR I just totally save it until I am down south. I think one of the posters on DC got upset when I called her honey. It wasn't meant in a bad way

I also had a problem with Claire grabbing Jason the way she did. First of all, he was not mirandized, so she didn't have the right to ask him to incriminate himself (knowing where Sonny was without telling police would be aiding a fugitive from justice). She also did not have the right to lay hands on him. He could have her charged with three counts of assault and battery for what she did. Very unprofessional behavior from Claire.
I noticed the Nik thing as well. His hair looked puffy and his face looked bloated.

Nik had his hair combed back and it looked a little longer. I think possibly he has a bit of a rug on top since several years ago his hairline was receding. I thought he looked pretty good. I'm one of the few I guess who has no problem with Dante or Olivia, and I still like her with Johnny. Loved seeing the "Q's" and Alexis with Kristina. Glad the JaSam caper is over - beyond ridiculous. But, Claire is an annoying little twit isn't she?

The Corinthos rule PC...Get over it..What I really hate most is that Jason keeps treating this punk Johnny w/ kid cloves, when he should've been off'd him! OMG, it was a Dante free day ! And no Sonny either ! OMG ! And we got to see Edward, Monica and Tracy (who was in olympic condition !).
So it is was it takes to enjoy the show. No Sonny and Dante (and no Brenda and her stupid "Balkan") and I can enjoy GH as I used to.
OK I could have done without Olivia playing the drama queen as usual at Johnny's bed side.
I could have done also without Lulu making a demo again of how dumb she is regarding everything Carly. But the convo with Naxie was fun, stupid but fun as I like Maxie.
Michael and Kristina ... Not really fond of them ... Just other spoiled bratty Sonny spawns but I guess their scenes were OK
Very happy to see Johnny waking up. Was pretty hot on his bed like that. Liked the nice way Robin talked to him considering how Robin always sides with Sonny ...
And Thank You Maya for having explained the situation to Johnny (I had the feeling that she did it on purpose ?).
I agree that Johnny would be completely stupid to tell the truth when he is still accused of murdering one of the Lopez brothers thanks to Sonny.
Jason and Sam were kind of cute especially after this lame cabin storyline.
I loved that Brook Lynn stood up and didn't accept to be put in a cage by the Qs.
Loved the convo between Brook and Tracy. This girl is feisty ! I just don't understand why she didn't at least try to run to Sonny or Johnny's place before ending all wet on the pier (or was she already aware that her good friend Sonny had left the country ?). Not sure I will buy the "Pretty woman" storyline with Nik just at the moment I was starting to like Nik/Liz.

So because a lot of people see now in Johnny what we loved in Sonny so many years ago, we have no right to voice it ?
And by the way, if you are a faithful fan of GH, you will remember that your darling Sonny has got back his power thanks to the Z organization which has always been said as much larger than the C one.
So please you love Sonny, fine. We don't attack YOU for that, we just voiced our dislike of what his character has become.
I am perhaps a "cougar" (doesn't make sense as I am a little younger than Johnny but if it pleases you MobbIsh
) so what ? I'd rather be a polite and respectful cougar than an aggressive young lady (I hope that at least your age explains your rude behavior !)
And Michael has a charisma of an oyster so far ... so don't think that the "mob prince" nickname is gonna switch to him soon. "Young Mr Sir" yes, for sure as he already shows so many of the qualities of his dear Daddy.

MobbIsh, I understand how it must be difficult for you to see how good the Jason/Johnny relationship is and how much most of the viewers seem to like it. Friendship (the word was used several times for them, lastly by Sam) between two guys who are on different sides of the barrier and have to deal with the consequences. Sorry if I like the fact that all is not "black" or "white" ...
It just proves that Jason is brighter than Sonny. And not ungrateful like Sonny is. Johnny saved Michael's life in the warehouse 2 years ago and this JUST AFTER he was released from the place Sonny kept him and tortured him. Johnny protected Michael's "secret" and even if he hates Sonny, he didn't rat out Michael. He even stood up for Michael at his trial.
Jason has been the only one to ever thank Johnny.
Jason respects Johnny and Johnny respects Jason. They will perhaps have to shoot each other one day but Guza had a hundred times the occasion to break up the link between Jason and Johnny and never did so far ...

I am not a huge Johnny fan but glad to see him still kicking around. Did not enjoy Olivia slobbering all over him. I also think he is a big fat liar just like the rest of his nutty family. I'm really tired of his stupid quest to find justice for his sister - time to move him on to something and someone else please. Where the heck is Ronnie who took the gun and seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth? I like Michael more and more when he is on. Krissy was fine when she wasn't speaking much then she went into her whiney ass routine with Michael and I hit the FF button. Loved Sam and Jason. Liked Edward, Monica and Brook - not so much with Granny. Not a fan of her screeching. She looks fantastic though. Funny how some characters draw people in and others we can't stand. It would be a boring place if everyone always agreed on everything.
