Oh Hell No! DAYS Axes Stacy Haiduk!

Okay, first Y&R axes Stacy and then when Days wouldn't work around her guest appearance on a show on Fox, they decided to axe her too?! I guess the folks at Sony must REALLY, REALLY hate Stacy!

This is REALLY, REALLY sad and hasty decision making in Days part. I'm sure there's more to it than just axing her. Their loss will be someone's gain. I know the B&B pool is full, but what if Emily made her way to L.A. she's a much better shrink that Taylor. Or how about Mary Jane high tails Tijuana and comes to L.A. I'm just sayin'

this is really disappointing. She deserves to be working and turns any material into gold. I think that DAYS has been crap since the 90's though (except for Marlena as the serial killer - THAT was must-see TV!) so I hope another show swoops her up.

I'm salivating at the thought of her as Karen Wolek.

Rumor is now that Days will recast the role of the warden with Mr. Kitty.

Aww man, I was never really a Days fan, but with Stacy on the show, I was all set to start watching the show faithfully.

There goes that one. This sucks so bad! Bad decision, this was a deliberate punitive move by DAYS because she booked another gig.

This is like a Frons move...shame on Days.

Lord, why is daytime treating Stacy Haiduk like a redheaded stepchild with head lice???? Why do certain HIDEOUS actors get job security while GREAT actors like Drew Garrett and Stacy get pissed on by their respective shows and kicked to the curb like yesterday's recycling bin????

Is Day's trying to replace All my Children as the Dumbest Soap on the Dial??

I don't watch any soap but Y&R, and I hope they reconsider Stacy. NOT as Doctor Pee (zzzzz) but I'm sooo going to miss Patty. Only 1 episode since we last saw her, and I miss her terribly.

Stacy is a fantastic actress. All my Barf Buckets didn't know what to do with her (par for the course), Y&R I'm embarrassed to say let a good thing go...DOOL is letting their Ratings Slide (plummet) rule their brains, so this fan hope's Y&R brings her back.

I'm going to defend days here. One day of shooting is likely two or three episodes worth of screens, and given the budget they are on they likely could shut down taping for a day. You can be put in a jam that you are upheaving the show for someone that was likely short term anyway which cannot play well with the other cast or crew members.

Trish, considering the mags did an article on DAYS' ratings woes, this wasn't the right move. They could've accomodated Stacy by working around whatever issues she had.

I think it was a spiteful decision actually. Sort of like All My Children recasting Bianca to punish Eden Riegel. You can see that AMC doesn't have anything planned for Bianca, so brining her back was a pointless way to send a message to Riegel.

I feel like the same sentiment is at play here. She is a fantastic actor, and she is proven that she can handle rigors of soaps. There was no REASON they could not accomodate her for a few days. My question is, why did they hire her in the first place? If they didn't have any respect for the actress, why did they bring her on? Were they simply trying to cash in on her popularity from Y&R? Is that wise considering the ratings problems the show is having.

They already lost one potential new viewer here...

I find this all interesting. Perhaps there are other reasons in play that no one knows about regarding her being fired from not one but two soaps. Who knows. I am not a big fan of the Emily/Patty routine. I wish they had just left her as Emily - the only time I really enjoyed watching her act.

Rocki, I'm with you. I wonder sometimes if we ever get the real story when things like this happen.

I guess i don't see much of a scandal here. She booked another job. Days didn't want to or was not able to work around that schedule. These things happens. Life goes on. Doesn't necessarily mean it was a personal attack or anything.
