The View Gets Red, White and Obama

For the first time in TV history a sitting U.S. President will visit a daytime talk show and what better place to sit down than on The View? This Thursday–as part of The View’s Red, White & View campaign–President Barack Obama will appear on the chatfest. Barbara Walters–who has been off the air recovering from heart valve surgery since May–will return for the special occasion.

“We are so pleased and honored that President Obama will be a guest on The View. The President last appeared on the program in March 2008 while he was still a Senator and First Lady Michelle Obama was a featured guest co-host in June, 2008. This shows that both the President and First Lady feel that our show is an influential and important source of information and news. I’m also going to appear on The View Thursday for the first time since my open heart surgery in May. I will return full-time in September,” said Ms. Walters.

The last time President Obama stopped by The View, he was still a Senator from Illinois.

I was hoping their "special" announcement was that Barbara Walters was retiring!

He loves going on his lame stream media; Joyless will probably give him a blow job.

!!!!!!!! Henry, Awesome comment!!!

Yep, his ratings (approval, but I'll go with RATINGS for the sake of being bitchy today) are down (no Joy Behar/Henry pun intended), so he thinks if he caters to the Stay -At-Homes, maybe they'll go up!

Memo to Obama's Handlers - - this makes him look worse. we're not stupid.

If he EVEN talks ONE SECOND about Linday Lohan in the Pokey I WILL LOSE MY SHIT!!!

Guess I didn't keep my mouth shut after all.....

So Obama thinks by going on this lousy show that he is going to improve his approval ratings? Wrong how about staying in the Whitehouse instead of playing golf or taking everyone other weekend as a long weekend and spend time in the house you were elected too. I am so sorry I ever voted for this Lousy Excuse for a president..

LOL on all of the above comments. Does my heart good. I don't know maybe lame show and lame president go hand in hand.

Is he a president or a celebrity? Time for him to choose or we will choose for him in November and 2012. He hangs out with celebrity pals when people are mean to him. He knows he'll get a fluff job from them. Hollyweird sure has been quiet on the oil spill. Their anointed one is getting hammered on all sides.

Yeah, let's blame him for the heatwave in the Midwest, the rain in the south, and grandma's getting cancer, too.

Ridiculous!!!!

I think because he is doing all these trivial things like going golfing, being on the view etc. while we have a major economic crisis on our hands. He should be off improving our nation's job prospects not hanging for coffee with Whoppi and Joy.

Okay, has anyone forgotten how TREMENDOUSLY incompetent our LAST president was???????????????????????????????????

I would certainly hope not. And let's not forget who STARTED all this crap that mainstream America is complaining about. Obama is still trying to clean up Bush's crapola!! I guarantee you it's not an easy job, and people who think they could do a better job would almost assuredly be in for a rude awakening...............

P.S---

The REAL travesty for me is not President Obama's appearance on this show, or his declining approval rating----

It's the fact that Elizabeth Hasslebitch CONTINUES to draw a paycheck when she should've NEVER been hired in the first place!!! Seriously, what is this woman's purpose on the show?? What does she bring to the table??? I struggle EVERYDAY to understand THAT conundrum!!! Let her go back to birthin' babies, since that appears to be all she's good for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aslonboy didn't Obama say passing th stimulus would lower the unemployment rate and it increased almost two precent under BAMA and shows no sign of decreasing? Hmm This is his mess now not Bush..

I think Obama walked into a cesspool from Bush and has to play clean-up man.
That's my 2 cents.

"Okay, has anyone forgotten how TREMENDOUSLY incompetent our LAST president was?"

Nope...and this one is shaping up to be no better. Besides knowing how to actually pronounce certain words, Obama's pretty much the Black Bush, but, at this point, I don't see him serving two terms.

Maybe he can be STUNT CAST on Y & R as Sophia's brother! Laughing out loud

It ain't about Bush or McCain anymore. It's about a man who made promises he can't keep to become elected president. The only "change" we have had in this country in the past 18 mos. has been for the worse...

VICTOR NEWMAN FOR PRESIDENT! YOU GOT THAT?!

Kcge - neither candidate really won me over. I just thought it was a lousy message that he went to Martha's Vineyard while the economy on the gulf has been decimated by the BP oil spill (and dont get me started on how incredibly piss poor the current administration's response has been to this crisis) Add to that things like going on the View, baseball games, golf etc. it symbolizes how out of touch he has been with the American people. Personally, I am not sure who has the answers but I will say this - we cant keep spending the way we have (with little to nothing to show for it) Its just not fair or moral to future generations to attempt to solve our current problems by passing the bill on to them.

Scout, I feel your pain...I just find it hard to admit, even to myself, how deeply disappointed I am. I never expected miracles and I'm glad there doesn't appear to be the level of corruption of past administrations. But I am stunned by the degree of incompetence we see on a daily basis.

We all know he needs to get his tushy kissed & the lame view women are panting to get it done...too bad he cares more about putting on a show for his ego and not enough for his country...glad I did not vote for him!

Maybe the Obama administration should be running the daytime division of a television network. Laughing out loud

.... And wasnt B.O. the first sitting President to appear on the Tonight Show?? I believe he was.

He certainly is panning out to be Oprah's BFF as advertised. I'm sure he'll be a Big Movie Star after he's Not Re-elected in 2 years.

I smelled it a mile away when he spoke at the DNC when the 2 Losers, Kerry & Edwards were running... The Democrats wanted a STAR, so they created a STAR and he's just doing what ALL STARS DO. Get a lap dance from Babwa Wawa.

Too bad our country's just one big Crater @ the Moment...

For those of you on cloud 9 for the anointed one let me bring you down to earth. I know people will disagree with me even with facts staring them right in the face. His poll numbers are about as bad has Jimmy Carter, the worst President we ever had. His he a lame duck President. Will see, the worst is yet to come.
