ATWT Gives Helen Wagner Send-Off
By Jillian Bowe on July 22, 2010

In an interview with TV Guide's Michael Logan, As The World Turns' executive producer Chris Goutman discusses the show's plans to honor the late Helen Wagner (Nancy). Goutman stated,
We decided not to go the traditional route in paying tribute to Nancy because she made it clear she didn't want anything fancy done," Goutman notes. "Instead, we pick up right after the ceremony with all the characters feeling like they need to do more for her. Casey takes the lead and challenges everyone to come up with a special way to honor Nancy, and that becomes our farewell episode.

I so pleased that they are finally going to do that, I think they should just show old clips until the end. They should show the famous JFK clip. ATWT will be forever known for that. In case they don't here it is raw and uncut as it happen.

craigcp, that first scene between Bob and Nancy was more than FIVE minutes long, and I didn't see either of them flubbing or searching for their lines. That's talent!
You always hear soap actors nowadays complain about all the lines they have to memorize. I'd like to see them try a scene like the classic one in the clip!
I'd also like to add that the warmth and family feeling in those scenes make me better understand why ATWT was the top show for twenty years.
