DUH! Kevin G. Schmidt Out at Y&R

Fans waiting for Kevin G. Schmidt (Noah) to return to The Young and the Restless are in for a letdown. The actor announced on Twitter,
Y&R FANS: I have not be asked to return as "Noah Newman". A huge thank you to the cast and crew! Onward and upwards!
This news probably won't come as much a shock for viewers, since Y&R recently SORAS'ed Noah's younger aunt, Abby Carlton Newman (Marcy Rylan). Last time viewers heard about Noah, he was attending high school in Paris with girlfriend Eden. Schmidt is currently starring in the Cartoon Network live action series Unnatural History.

He was a decent little actor. I can't necessarily say that I'll MISS him, but he did have potential. I just hope they don't bring on Daniel Cosgrove to play NuNoah!!! LOL!!!

I really didn't expect him to come back, but I must admit I sort of liked Eden (it took me a while), I guess she won't be returning either.

I say good for him. His show as little Indiana Jones should bring him some good exposure. He was a good Noah, but with Abby Sorased, it would not have made even soap sense to bring him back.
Maybe Drew Garrett can gain 10 pounds and die his hair darker?

I'm not really surprised. Aside from the fact that they SORASed Abby, I don't think a long term gig as Noah would fit with his career plans. If his Cartoon Network series gets picked up for a second season, he'll be gone for another six month stretch; even if the role of Noah is recurring, Y&R can't just keep writing him off and bring him back again around Kevin's schedule.
Maybe if Y&R had made a commitment to him before, he wouldn't have had to go off looking for other work. But with the role recurring, he did what he had to; actor's gotta eat, y'know.
I liked him as Noah, but I think his career off soaps will take off and wish him the best.

I wonder which male actor who is married will miss Kevin's body on the show? This was a blind item last year on Nelson Branco's blog. Supposedly the actor had it bad for this young buck and cast and crew were somewhat shocked.

Both Laura Wright and Nancy Lee Grahn just tweeted that Drew Garret is headed to Y&R for the role of Noah Newman! I'm jumping for joy right now!!!! I love Drew and I hope they give him something decent to work with!

What always made me laugh about Noah's character is that he had more common sense than both of his nitwit parents put together. In the last several months of his appearances, he was more parent to them than they were to him.

I liked him as a young actor...he showed more maturity than his lame parents!...Didn't care for his relationship with Eden though...He will be missed.
