Like i said on the forum they're probably bringing her back to trash Hope, Adam is going to whine, yes more than usually does, about being abused by his mother the faux-saint.

They should have NEVER killed off Hope's character in the first place. Bringing her back now as a ghost is a shallow attempt at a peace offering for the fans who grew to love this character in the 90s. Hope's presence on the show now, ALIVE AND IN PERSON, not as a ghost, could really serve the show well. Adam needs his mama to make him see reason, and perhaps aid in his "redemption" (excuse me for chucking at the mere absurdity of Adam being truly redeemed, but the writers seem to THINK it's possible!)

Bottom line: Killing off Hope was a boneheaded move. I will never understand why they did it. But then again, I will never understand why they have done many of the stories that they have done over the past year!!!

You guys have absolutely no idea what is going to unfold with these episodes. She will maybe in Adam's dream. I dream about my grandmother all the time. I live for those times when I "see" her again. There is just too much jumping to conclusions. I am not saying that about you two and the conclusions but we need to let this play out before casting judgment. I agree that it was a mistake to kill her off. I loved her character. It is like when LML killed off the moral compass of the show in John Abbott. I for one am enjoying watching these sl unfold.

I don't think the death of Hope was a "boneheaded move". It was used to reintroduce Victor's son to the canvas. The fuckery, excuse "stories", that has happen since, I can't defend lol. This is nothing more than a device to get Adam to have a shred of humanity while his mother comes to him in a vision to express her disappointment in her son.

I have to agree, killing off Hope was a silly move. I just hope that bringing the character back to help explain Adam's behaviour as long as it doesn't ruin Hope's character in doing so.

I only hope that they treat Adam like Michael. Michael was in jail, disbarred, and we saw him work to regain respectability. I don't count Phyllis because no one knows what she did and for that reason many fans still hate her..so I don't quite agree that from a fan perspective she is redeemed. I won't even go into the Victor story...which I don't think is a good comparison either.

Hope is one of my favorite characters ever and I have NEVER bought that a child raised by her would act like Adam. Never.

However, I love Signy Coleman and am happy to hear she will be back.
If Hope is going to be twisted and shown in flashbacks as some mother from hell to help explain why Adam is such a little shit I am going to be PISSED.

I really doubt that Hope will return as a phantom demon with horns (Adam already portrayed that to Patty) but as a haloed vision in white trying to set Adam right.

I also have a problem with Hope raising a child that would turn out like Adam with all his character shifts at the whim of Y&R writers. If he is somehow redeemed it will be interesting to see the explanation and process. As I said previously, though, Adam is is Father's son so it is easy to see where his traits came from.

Unless Ghost Hope is waiting for Adam with a switch or a belt to tear that behind up I don't really see the need for her to show herself.

Love your comments Alstonboy. Like you, Hope is one of my favorite all time characters and was deeply disappointed when she was killed off. Don't see how, but hope she can somehow redeem Adam. Will really be hard to do and I really hope it does not shed a different light on her. She was just so good. Now if MAB does not goof this up we will be alright.

I agree with the Moustache....this is Maria'S ATTEMPT to snag Michael Muhney an emmy ala Billy Abbott's and Michael Baldwin's standalone episode wins. I don't think he has enough moxy to carry off a whole episode IMHO...It worked twice already though ! ! !

Why in the world would it be necessary to kill off Hope simply to introduce the character of Adam? It's not like he was living at home on the farm. He was in NY in the business world, and that could have brought him into Victor's sphere without ever having to kill off Hope. It was a dumb, UNNECESSARY move.

well if hope is coming back as a ghost..then i just hope that she doesn't bump into all the other ghosts running around G-town...LOL. i am sure their plan is to redeem Adam (that will probably happen around the time that Sharon and Nick are getting together of course) to complicate matters...

i'm thinking that once Big Red kicks Nick to the curb that her whole situation with running Cricket/Paul over will start to come to light...i can't really see anything else for her character (and oh god if they keep showing her whining over Nick)..

i have to admit..i am liking this Abby s/l. she just does whatever she wants...a refreshing twist on the old Abby character...what a snoozefest that was...

I TOTALLY agree. I was gonna say something, but you already expressed my thoughts so eloquently. Killing off important characters that have been on the canvas for over 10 years should NOT be done in a willy-nilly fashion.

ONTLFORDLOVER ... I guess you've been watching a different Adam than I have. I find him to be extremely amusing lately and Michael Muhney's acting to be top notch; certainly miles ahead of any other Newman sibling.

6butterfly ... even though I can't disagree with your opinion on Abby, I'm starting to find that whole thing getting quite tiring. I guess it could be a preamble to some better things to come though.

6butterfly, I don't like Abby. I don't know what they're doing with the character, but when she first breezed on, I liked her. She was sassy and flirtatious. Now she's just a sad and pathetic attention getter. Again, another female who is not strong or independent, just NEEDY.

I sometimes refer to Abby as Paris Hilton 2.0!!! Needy and thirsty for attention and validation. She's kind of like the CBS counterpart of GH's Maxie, a character that I spend 95% of my time HATING/wishing she's be written off the show. The spoiled, self-entitled snotty brat thing can get old after a while.

I just wish there was a fun side to her, Alstonboy, so that I would like her. As it is, I just feel sorry for her, and consequently, I don't really care what happens to the character. Plus, they paired her with that snoozefest Daniel. Isn't it about time for him to go to jail again?

I like the Abby s/l b/c i just find it funny to see her pushing her parents buttons. I'm sure in no time it will get old...its not a sustainable s/l...but i can't stand the whole cane/lily/mac/jt stuff...so this is a bit refreshing for me at the moment
