Aaaaaaaaah! I can't believe what a bind Y&R viewers are in. Maria is married to Brad's brother. We're stuck with her. Maybe if they could just get rid of Hogan Sheffer and possibly Paul Rauch (probably not going to happen), then the show would be better.

I am enjoying Y&R these days, only in parts. I can remember when you used to see an act of violence on this show perhaps once a year, now there are deaths, explosions and kidnapping all the time. I would much rather see the rivalries between Jack and Victor, Phyllis and Sharon ( mind you if I see Nick swing between the two of them one more time....sigh) or Jill and Nina.

Seriously folks focus on some interesting stories, Nina vs Chloe over Chance, Jill and Lauren, and how about some back story to Murphy. I don't need to see much of Adam unless his back story makes sense to how his character turns out (remember Y&R folks Hope was kind, strong and smart). And some romance, how about Jill and Paul? And how about some screen time for Nikki, I know Melody Thomas Scott is recurring but so is Tracey E Bergman!

I figured she's be extending her stay--- daytime is the only genre in which Sean Young hasn't BURNED HER BRIDGES!!! How long before she gets blacklisted from the soaps also???

I am sure that Eric Braeden is going to bat for her, reciting her sob story to TPIC, trying to convince them to keep her around because they are friends, and he knows as well as mainstream America does that once Sean Young leaves Y&R, she's gonna be forced back into obscurity again, because NOBODY will hire this chick. Seriously.

As far as Stacy Haiduk leaving, I am not SUPER upset about it, only because I am tired of BOTH of her characters---especially Patty with all that damned crying, screaming and those hysterics!! It's like nails on a chalkboard listening to that crap, especially today!! I just want her gone. She's not interesting anymore or intriguing. Ditto for Emily, who is one of the most useless characters on the canvas. I don't buy her "soulmate love story" with Jack--never have, never will!!

I must admit that I do see some chemistry between Sean and Eric Braeden, and it does show a lighter side to Victor. I think I even saw her make him laugh a few weeks ago when she propositioned him for "no strings attached" sex??? That was nice to see.

But Maria Bell is proving herself to be a complete MORON who relies on shock value and stunt casting to make her mark, and I hope she gets that pink slip soon. Not gonna happen, but my fingers and toes are still strategically crossed in anticipation for this much needed event!!!

I wonder if Melody Thomas Scott and Eric Braeden are having some sort of backstage dispute??? That would explain why Nikki is only shown on the 1st and the 15th---if we are lucky?? I am sure that if Eric REALLY wanted Melody to get more airtime, he'd be in Maria and Paul's offices throwing his weight around and mumbling at the top of his lungs to anyone who would listen, all the while, threatening to walk off the set if they don't accommodate his leading lady???

It seems strange that he would be championing this chick more so than someone that he has worked with for almost 30 years!!!

Things that make you go "hmmmmmmm"..............

Frankly I am sick to death of Adam and Patty/Emily. Here I thought I would not have to see either of them again yet here I am watching the same junk daily. Watching that idiot Adam lurking around in a baseball cap is hilarious and not one bit intriguing or frightening. Just plain stupid. The scene with Adam banging his pathetic head against the wall? That is the way I feel with that entire storyline and those characters. How soon before they finally go? Please!

Maybe they can pair Sean Young with Eric Roberts and we can decide who delivers the most wooden performance........

Except for the two episodes in which Jill's dying mother revealed her true parentage, I haven't watched Y & R for TWO months. And the truth is that none of the latest developments makes me feel that I'll be missing anything if I stay tuned out.

Sheer ridiculousness. Y&R's veterans and talented newcomers should be written decent, thoroughly thought-out stories instead of adding these insignificant D-Listers to play fringe characters. Y&R is in need of an intervention. Maria Arena Bell and Paul Rauch are akin to alcoholics as they paint these rosy pictures of how great things are on Y&R; when clearly they are not. Paging Jack Smith and/or Kay Alden from across the hall. (Jack and Kay, long-time Y&R writers and Bill Bell protégés, are both at B&B.)

What are the odds that Meggie will turn out to be Katherine's long-lost, abandoned daughter? Which could possibly be good - Katherine's surrogate daughter (Nikki) and her biological daughter (Meggie) doing battle over the Great Victor Newman.

I am sure we could all think of great stories for Nikki. As could the Y&R writing team - if they wanted or were instructed to do so.

Hogan always has and always will run through story like he's in a marathon. He doesn't like to delve into them very deep. While that does keep things from getting boring, it always keeps things very shallow. So he goes through characters like mad. Maria on the other hand seems to come up with really good ideas but doesn't seem to know what to do next. So it's out with the old and in with the new all the time. Flesh out your stories please and then you will know what comes next. The story and the characters will point the way.
As for Sean Young, I didn't mind her stint on Y&R and really don't mind "stunt" casting if there is an actual character that needs a body. I am looking forward to Eric Roberts. He is a very good actor and hope he will bring some fight to the Newmans. They need a good enemy since the fight seems to have gone out between Jack and Victor for the time being.

With all of these recent hirings, and then the rumors on all of the boards of Sharon Case being replaced, this show is quickly becoming more and more un-watchable. I watch old episodes on You-tube of Y&R from the golden days and become more and more dis-satisfied with what we are putting up with now. I may become only a one soap- DAYS- follower if things do not improve soon!

Rumors of Sharon Case being replaced??? Hadn't heard those. I'd rather see them replace Josh Morrow before I see them get rid of Sharon. She's actually a GREAT actress who does consistently good work....can't say the same about Josh!!!!

Huh-I'm not sure what's left to be said, but I'm still gonna say something. Frankly, I'd much rather see TPTB devote time to existing characters on the canvas that are either wasted on the backburner(Nikki, Paul, Michael and Lauren) or trotted out every few months(Nina, Traci)than Hollywood D-listers who are brought on for stunt value(Sean Young, Eric Roberts, et al). MAB and her crew seem to be in a constant state of upheaval, throwing everything they can think of(and in the case of the doppelganger disaster, throwing it twice)against the wall to see if any of it will stick. FYI--as it stands, your average is about 1 for 10. Compounding that is getting rid of actors who actually have the capacity to contribute positively to the show i.e. Stacy Haiduk(find of the decade doesn't even begin to cover it) and that sexy beast Wilson Bethel--the Ryder/Jana combo was more interesting to me in the scant few scenes they've had together than Kevin/Jana have been in YEARS. And we still have uninteresting characters who get way too much screen time--Nick(I know the man is gorgeous and must have the biggest c--- in daytime considering he's got two women d--- crazy for him 24/7--but hello, he's the most uninteresting male character on that show next to....),Chance(who I still say should've been written gay ,instead of Phillip, and paired with Rafe because he has ZERO chemistery with Liz Hendricksen or Eden Riegel), Heather(I love Eden Riegel, but I still think Vail Bloom was better in that role), Lily and Cane, and Gloria and Gary Ewing(I know, they're barely on once a week, but that's time that could be given to someone else--LIKE NIKKI). Ultimately, I'm still hanging on because I've been with it on and off since I was eight(I know, gay that early?)and there is still good stuff to be had( I worship the Stafford and still love the Abbotts) but at some point TPTB are gonna have to turn a corner to something BETTER.

I just don't on Y&R anymore. The show almost...hurts.

They are just rumors, hopefully un-true. You know how simple rumors, largely un-substantiated, can go viral on those message boards. I agree with what Jamey and Jillian said on the last pod-cast, though, that Maria needs to be removed before any more damage is done to the show.

Everyone keeps saying Hogan's the one behind all of this. People keep forgetting MARIA is the HEAD WRITER and EXECUTIVE PRODUCER. Her word is law and she can say yay or nay. Not defending either of them but it is not as if Hogan's saying, "YOU DO THIS NOW!" and she has no choice. Not everything that we see onscreen is all Hogan.

Jillian, I have been saying that to people since she started the whole chipmunk mess. Maria is behind all of this. She lost her way, and she doesnt know what she is doing anymore.

Yeah, Jillian's right--again--the whole hot mess can be laid at MAB's feet. As for Hogan Sheffer, my only previous experience with him was when he was at ATWT(I hear he did some damage at DAYS while there)back in the early to mid-2000's and that show was on fire a good part of the time he was there so I can't see alot of the direction the show's going in being his doing. As for some of the more crazy ass s$!* that's been going on i.e. the tired-ass double doppelganger brigade, I've got two words--Paul Rauch.

Please don't kill me when I say this, but it's about time the CBS soaps start getting some well-deserved criticism after what the hacks at ABC have been getting for the past few years (Frons, Pratt, Guza, etc...and deservedly so). I'll give ATWT the benefit of the doubt as it's on its way out.

Why Y&R would waste their time on the "talents" of someone like Ms. Young vs. giving Melody some well-deserving storylines is beyond me. Thank goodness Susan Seaforth Hayes has been asked to do a short stint again. I'm still scratching my head as to how EB was voted All-Time-Favorite Soap Star over Susan Lucci, Tony Geary, etc... Might as well throw in how miraculous it was that B&B won best soap (really???) and the Grand Daddy WTF item being how DTB walked away with an Emmy.

Something "not right" is going on over at CBS.

So are they going to kill Nikki Newman off the show?.

I would really like to see Sean Young...touring with Margot Kidder in a traveling show of Grey Gardens...in the most obscure towns on the planet.

I think that they're stupid enough to fire Sharon Case. They're so conceited so i wouldn't be suprised if they blamed HER for the Sharon backlash that's been going on for a year, they probably believe that their writing for the character was BRILLANT but she's the one that failed to deliver.

And look at the way the character has been constantly thrown under the bus ever since HAckrena Hell took over. It's obvious, to me at least, that she does not care about Sharon or Miss Case.
