Which nominee should win Outstanding Drama Series?
I don't even think there's a question about it--- GH is gonna take this trophy. It's the best soap on the air, despite it's flaws. That carnival episode that they submitted was produced WONDERFULLY, and very entertaining. Their only real competition will come in the form of Y&R, but I personally don't want to see Maria Bell win an Emmy considering her LESS THAN STELLAR body of work over the past year!!!!
IDK alstonboy4315 I have a feeling Y&R might take home the trophy. Colleen's death episodes featured Beth Maitland, Peter Bergman, Thad Luckinbell and Melody Thomas Scott acting their collective ASSES off. Ol' man Edward Quartermaine drive through half of Port Charles can't beat the stare Jack gave before consenting to the Newmans that the Abbott's would donate the heart of Colleen to save evil Victor. The storyline sucked but it was heartfelt and was real drama. Y&R, though it can be eye-rolling and sickening at times, is the only soap opera that is still a soap opera. GH is a train-wreck with it's aging mobsters and far too suntanned leading hair models, B&B should just broadcast itself as a weird psuedo-incest porn site for sickos who like watching 50+ Beverly Hills fashionista shagging young men in masks, and don't get me started on AMC. Greenlee, Ryan, Angie and her sad wig, and that Erica Kane. Please!!!! When's the last time AMC told a decent storyline? Y&R for the win.
Akbad806--- I certainly appreciate your point of view, but I disagree about GH having "suntanned hair models". I happen to think that GH has the BEST cast of actors in all of daytime--not a bad actor or actress in the bunch, as far as I've seen. I do respect your opinion, though. I must admit that the scene on Y&R centered around Colleen's death was good, solid, heart-wrenching daytime drama, so Y&R might take home the trophy. I admit that Y&R has moments of greatness, and can offer great soap opera SOMETIMES, but their track record over the past year has been ABYSMAL.
Amen to that! Then they fire Stacy Haiduk who was the star of 2009 and 2010. We can agree to disagree about the caliber of acting on GH. Y&R just has better actors in my opinion though they have many duds in the bunch. A show that revolves instead around the thespian talents of either Steve Burton and Maurice Bernard is laughable LOL!!!!
I think it going to be B&B. I think they done with the Stunts for now and as good as Y & R one I do not see "giving the heart" storyline winning two years in a row.
Days should be on this list instead of AMC. The death of baby grace was wonderful soap telling.
So What is front runner for next year
1. Alice's Funeral (Days)
2. Palmer's Funeral (AMC)
3. Sonny shoots Dante or Michael Sentencing (AMC)
4. Bo and Nora Wedding (OLTL)
Let me disagree I think GH will take it.. the carnival episode was amazing and amazing cast work...
And I think GH has the best cast when they all work together you have magic...
ANd in my opinion Steve and Mo are phenomenal actors
GH for the win!!!
