This probably won't be a popular comment, but she was a victim of the atrocious writing going on during Pratt's Reign of Errors! She was a fine actress and the stuff that was written for her character is what did her in. Of course, AMC has a long history of squandering talent with substandard plotting and scripting.

I think that Yaya is a good actress, but I never liked her on ANTM---I found her to be condescending, arrogant and rude. I hope she's grown up and stopped believing that she's the Queen of Sheba (P.S--She isn't!!!!)
Her character on AMC was hideously written, but she did manage to make it bearable. I enjoyed her far more on "Ugly Betty" playing Vanessa Williams' daughter.

Wasn't Cassandra being written by AMC's former Co-Head Writers Barbara Esensten and James Harmon Brown? Cassandra arrived in April 2008, then departed in August 2008, right before Pratt's stuff started airing. I don't think he had the chance to really write for the character, if even. I remember Pratt gave a statement saying YaYa exited the role, to go on some Broadway show instead.

Yeah, the Cassandra character left the show before Pratt came on. I definitely remember that because that was when I started to watch the opening credits EXTRA closely. I had been so underwhelmed with how bad Esensten and Brown were doing--after loving their past works on "The City," "Loving" GL and "Port Charles"---and was hoping that Chuck Pratt would be coming on soon to REJUVENATE the show. We both know how THAT turned out....................

My mistake. I forgot there were sucky writers before Pratt, too!

I'm glad to see she's habing some success! I thought she would end up like so many other actresses prematurly fired by soaps, never seen again. By the way, when is Cassie coming home? I like Natalia but just because she's on the show doesn't mean we can't expand the Hubbards' family.
