Double, Double, Toil and Trouble on Y&R

I'm sorry (actually, I'm not), but OLTL is gold compared to this. Don't get me wrong, there are days I'm yelling and clapping, but they come too far apart. I don't know what's going on with Y&R but they seriously need to get their act together and they need to end these double storylines now. If I had to choose I'd take Pemily. At least she has a real motive. The Sarah/Lauren thing beyond ridiculous.  Did they learn anything from Bill Bell??

Jesus, keep me near the cross!! Another day of foolishness!! There is a light at the end of the tunnel, though. I read in SOD that one of the "Children of the Corn" twins (Daisy and Ryder) is gonna go BYE-BYE within the next few months. Guess who I'm rooting for to get the boot?? Fingers and toes crossed.

I don't know what Maria is gonna do next, but I know it's gonna be a mess!! I wish I could stop watching Y&R, but I just can't do it!!! I can't give up the fight yet!!! As crazy as it gets, I still feel the overwhelming need to support this show. I know that there are better days (and better writers!) ahead!!!

wow...I can't even sit through this show anymore....its so stupid....

It has become the Psycho Show; the only thing missing is Norman from Psycho or somebody dressed up as a dead mother.

I never thought I'd ever have the thought that Y&R could get worse than GL in it's last years. I don't know how much more I can take.

I think MAB is purposely trying to kill the show because if she isn't then she's just stupid. I don't know what is worse.

Couldnt it be that she is just not experienced enough yet and that she is trying too hard?
She needs to pace herself. As far as the psychos are concerned, I kinda like psychos on my soaps. They DO keep things moving along and interesting. The problem here is that there are more things going on than one can focus on. Slow down the plot driven devices a little and do more character driven devices. There are alot of characters in Genoa city. What's Gloria up to?

Just rename this show the Young and the Psycho.  I love my crazies in soaps but this is WAYYY too  much.  I'm not even including the pace of the show is slow. 

Does anybody know how long MAB has been head writer and is this her first big writing gig?

In answer to #15,  I am going to say,  Not Long,  and Yes.

She,  MAB,  in my opinion is doing a horrible job.  I have watched this show with my wife for over 27 years and just cannot believe how horrible it has become.

alstonboy4315 ... I always enjoy your right on comments but I digress when it comes to Jana. I don't get your mad on for her because I think she is acting the way anyone would in her current situation of health and jeopardy. I don't find her annoying at all.

This Adam "murder" investigation is getting far beyond ridiculous. The whole cabin V for Vendetta gang should actually all be in jail. They kidnapped, held and grilled Adam, now they are all impeding an investigation with their cover ups, lies and false confessions (obstruction of justice). I think Chance is acting entirely appropriately here because he does seem to know what is going on but can't quite yet prove it. I see in our IGuide episode descriptions for this week that the Newmans are going to serve DA with a lawsuit; what the hell could be the reason and logic with that?

Please please please let's get done with the dopplegangers and sooner than later. The Sarah thing has just gotten very sadistic, doesn't seem to stop growing and now they've seen one Hitchcock movie too many and think they can pull off a complicated criss-cross murder.
I guess Heather is going to take the cup off for DNA testing but it would be quite simple for real Emily to mention some of the things Patty has told her that she should not really know at all. That would get things rolling there too. Where is Paul's brilliant suspicious PI mind when we need it?

The only thing I really wish for right now ... can we keep Emily's brother and give him something to do?

I think that Jana O'Brien is a great actress, but I have never felt an emotional connection to Jana's character. I have always just found her to be blah, blah and more blah!! Even the Ouija boards and her quirkiness are not enough to make me like her!! I am just completely apathetic toward this character. I think Kevin needs a new girlfriend/wife. As far as her character's constant screaming, hysteria and whining, I understand that she is being held hostage and has every right to be hysterical, but I have a low threshhold for listening to women whine, cry and complain, regardless of who they are!! Anytime I hear anyone screaming incessantly, I automatically hit my "mute" button, regardless of who it is!! My eardrums can only take so much abuse. LOL!!!

I think part of the problem with Jana's character is that the writers haven't defined her well. First she was this sneaky murderous nutjob, then she became this flaky New Ager chick, neither of which really seem to fit her.

I don't have a problem with the way she's playing her character at all right now, either. The screaming doesn't bother me because I'd be hella panicked, too.

How could Sara and Patty know each other maybe they were in the same hosptial together and MAB  is going to put them  back along  with Daisy and Ryder.

If they gave Billy a twin on this show I would be all over it.

Hey Purplebraids,  you almost guessed it.  One was there for surgery and the other was a nurse.  The Jack/Emily/Patty story line comes undone on Monday May 3,  2010 when Jack discovers the truth.  Expect it to wrap by Friday of that week.  Now if the other one would just wrap and let Daisy pop back under the rock that she popped out from under.

@ Ryan-Scott, OMG! TWO Billy's? Two people making stupid faces instead of acutally acting out their emotions? No thanks.

Is it just me, or are we missing this week's spoilers?  I wouldn't consider the blurb by Luke Kerr on Monday to be a spoiler.  Is Jillian away or something?  Or are the PTB keeping a closed mouth about what's going to be happening next week?

BTW over plotting with two psychos or not, Tracey Bregman is doing a great job of making us hate her.  I'm sure she's enjoying having to use her acting chops in this double role, as being Lauren, in no trouble must get boring for her.   And I have always enjoyed Stacey Hayduk.  Things will seem boring around old GC when both plots are solved at the same time.  

I think Patty killed Adam.  They showed her slipping Jack's hankerchief out of his pocket at the ball. 

That being said, I have been watching this show for the last 30 or so years and this is the worst its ever been.  I think everyone is sick to death of the horrible writing.  I would like to apply for the job!  I know I could do better.  Then again, so could a ten year old.  I pray they dump this inept girl quickly.  Sadly, the family writing genes skipped her.
