Here’s the Scoop!
I know everyone wants to know what led to Drew Garrett being let go as Michael. There is TONS of speculation out there. From what I could gather, while it took us all by shock, the recast MAY have been happening behind the scenes for a bit now. This doesn't mean some of his co-stars weren't caught off guard by the news. Ingo Rademacher was tweeting as recent as Friday that he needed to run lines with Drew for upcoming scenes. Laura Wright tweeted Monday that she gave Garrett a big hug and wished him well. Both said they had no idea what led to his being let go from General Hospital.
How about some scoop? Robin takes the stand in defense of her favorite man to defend, Sonny! Will she crumble under cross examination? While she paints the man that she wants everyone to see under Diane’s questioning, Claire gets under Robin’s skin. Will Robin’s testimony cause another Scrubs squabble about the local godfather?
The Q Mansion is filling up! Remember both Maya and Skye hit town soon. Brook Lynn follows shortly, closer to May Sweeps.
After Kristina witnesses Sonny’s outburst in court… she’s a little uneasy with Daddy. Carly will try to soothe Kristina and explain Sonny to her. Dante has a warning for Carly. She might want to keep Morgan away from the men in blue.
When will Ethan’s name be cleared? The truth will come out eventually. Remember the RUMOR about Kiefer’s demise? It MAY be a classic case of things getting worse, much worse before they get better. So the GOSSIP out there is that Kiefer loses it once again and beats Kristina. Someone walks in on it and kills Kiefer. Who? Is it Dante as some of the CHATTER suggests? Is it a female? Is this all a good piece of FanFic?
CRAZY and RANDOM… Elizabeth gets the results of the paternity test Nikolas had done. The results Nikolas wants her to see. Will Dr. Lisa know the real results? Dante and Lucky find evidence that points in Kiefer’s direction. Michael tries to escape the island once again.

I am sure what really happened with Drew will come out sooner or later. What is Chad Duell's real age? I am reading and hearing very different things.
I hope when you say eventually the truth will come out about Kristina's attack, you mean a week, but it sounds like it will be about a month.

Patrick is becoming a bigger douche bag with every passing episode!! Why would he just ARBITRARILY decide to give his "opinion" today to Lucky, telling him that he THINKS that Ethan is guilty??? What qualifies him to point the finger at someone else without having all the evidence?? Is he a member of law enforcement? Didn't think so. And that Lisa chick that he's gonna eventually end up cheating on Robin with ALSO gets more boring with each passing episode!!!
Does Luke Spencer REALLY think he can convince Sonny to ease up on Ethan or not kill Ethan?? Because of their STRONG friendship??? This is gonna be war, but I'm looking forward to it. Anything that means more Luke Spencer is alright with me!!

I heard he's 34!!! I hope that's wrong, otherwise it means that Laura Wright, who plays his mother, would have had him when she was 5 years old!! LOL!!! I doubt that's possible, but stranger things have happened in Soapland!!

there are a lot of rumors why they let Drew go . I hope it is not because he is not Hunk , because if this is this is stupid reason because Drew is only 20 he is young and when Steve came to GH he was at the same age as Drew and he wasn't Hot like today..... it takes time.....
And also JJ no one thinks of him as hunk but he is amazing with a couple Stories like the LnL2 stuff and they let go of Greg who was hunk to have JJ ,So why do the opposite with Drew....
By the way I don't think the new guy is that good looking.. and about his acting I will wait and see and hope for the best because Drew was really amazing.....

Well, there's only nine years' difference between the actors that play Olivia and Dante. Like you said, stranger things have happened.

lol i registered just to post that link janna71... but according to that he is between 18-20, which is what he looks like.
Anyway not looking forward to Drew Garrett leaving. He is amazing as Michael, and its a shame GH couldn't keep him. Hopefully another show picks him up quick. I do want to find out what led to him being fired though so if anyone has any insider scoop.

I was shocked also to hear that they let Drew Garret go. I hope the real reason for his departure comes out real soon. I thought that they had a great find and he looked like Laura Wright too. I feel so bad for him its not even a year yet is it that he has been on? Will just have to get used to this new Michael now!
I just wonder though if the cast really new something was going on with Drew because there is always gossip in the workplace.
Gosh I hope that this Kristina storyline will wrap up now! It's getting harder and harder for me to feel bad for her anymore. I'm really liking Ethan now though!

If Chad Duell IS really 34, who cares? As long as he looks the age of the part. The guy who plays Jackson on Hannah Montana is in his 30s too, and he plays Miley's slightly older brother on that show. I had no clue he was around 30 until I read about it online, because he's so little LOL A few years ago when I turned 30 I was still getting carded for R rated movies and buying alcohol, that stopped only just recently.
Anyone remember Andrea on 90210, who was in her 30s playing a 16 year old? But she looked almost her age LOL At least this guy looks pretty young

Drew Garrett is a fantastic actor. He played all the emotions during his stint at GH. I just hope he can quickly land another gig on prime time or even another soap that treats their talent better.

I thought Anthony Geary was gay!!!!??? Seriously, I did.
Besides, if Drew Garrett WERE doing such a "horrible" job, and was so unprofessional---WHICH I DON'T believe----why the hell did they pre-nominate him for an Emmy??? That would be REWARDING his behavior, if he were unprofessional or not getting the job done!!! They could have EASILY put that guy who plays Morgan, or the guy who plays Keifer in his place for the pre-nom!!

One being true need not exclude the other. In fact, I think the promos for the show touting"Anthony Geary's BIG revelation" on the famously gay-friendly Wendy show, intentionally played into that belief whether its true or not.

Drew Garrett being let go is very unfortunate whatever the reason. We need to give the new guy a fair shot at the role. These things happen in show business all the time especially in daytime drama. While the actor is gone the character remains. Lets see where the stoyline takes him.

It could be a Disney thing. The Mouse House could be trying to cash in on the popularity of WOWP and draw in even YOUNGER viewers. Even though I was watching All My Children at age 8, I don't know if I want my tween nieces watching a soap like GH. lol!

As far as the RUMORS go with Drew... I really hate to say one way or the other since I really don't know what the true story is. Anyone can talk and say what they want. I've seen the item that he wasn't "hunky" enough for the incoming females which I just can't wrap my head around. When you have a talent like Drew, you cast to him, not the other way around and frankly, looking at the picture, nuMichael doesn't appear to be all that more hunky, in comparison to Drew that is. That is just my two cents... Will I give the new guy a fair shot? I'll try to. I'm really ticked about this and again not knowing what led to this happening, from a fan's point of view, Drew took on a role that I expected Dylan Cash to grow up in and Drew MADE me eat my expectations. I hope TPTB make me eat my anger.

I read on this site that one of the new characters coming to town, younger daughter of Justice Ward, is supposed to be hooked up with Michael. I am confused. Michael's biological father is Edward's grandson and the girl's biological father is Edward's son - they are cousins. How can they have any relationship? He is less biologically related to Kristina who is his sister. Can anyone help me out and explain how this is not incest? Thanks!
PS: I love Drew as Michael and am shocked by this cast change. Unless it was his decision, I think the show is crazy.
PSS: I think Anna Devane's cousin, Aidan from All My Children, needs to come to GH stat and add a funny, hot man to this town. So dreary it is hard to watch every day.
PSSS: Lisa is an easy recast. Stupid if they keep this unknown with no talent while they could find someone better who might make us care about Lisa. Right now, she is cliche and her breaking up Robin and Patrick is cliche.
