SHOCKER: GH's Drew Garrett OUT, Chad Duell IN as Michael Corinthos III

This shocking news just in from the folks at Soaps In Depth on Twitter. General Hospital has replaced Drew Garrett with Chad Duell as Michael Corinthos III. He first appears on April 20.

As much as Michael was a pain in the arse I adored Drew and thought he was amazing.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did Garrett quit??? The BEST actor under the age of 25 in daytime couldn't possibly have been fired, could he??? He added so much depth and intensity to the role!!! What happened???? This is really sad news!!!! I just hope it was voluntary, and that he wasn't fired because if he was fired, I am gonna be EXTREMELY pissed!!!!!!

NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!! I hope we hear from Drew or his rep about why this happened A.S.A.P. because it really makes no sense. There must have been some behind the scenes shenanigans going on or Drew got a role on another show or something. Otherwise, there was NO REASON to recast the role. Hoping that we hear something soon.
Also, WHY are they recasting with an actor from the Disney channel???? *Crosses fingers that this is not another Erin Sanders (Ex-Eden, Y&R) fiasco!!!!!

What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He had chemistry with everyone, brilliant acting and was the best newcomer to soaps in forever!!!! The only reasoning is he chose to leave the show for something else...I guess the price i pay for better storylines for awhile is the actors getting cut...don't they realise, that the actors play a part in these successful storylines?

I agree he needs another job, but Noah on Y&R might not work for me. I actually think he's a BETTER actor than Joshua Morrow!! He'd TOTALLY upstage him in scenes. Don't forget, this kid is used to going toe to toe with Steve Burton, Maurice Benard and Laura Wright. He'd TOTALLY chew Josh Morrow up and spit him out!!! I am assuming that he quit to pursue another project, or that something ELSE happened. I don't wanna believe that he was fired!!! I really don't!!!!

The continuing storyline will have viewers on the edge in the weeks leading up to May sweeps as Michael and his father frantically try to hide the truth that he murdered his stepmother Claudia.
We want to thank Drew Garrett for his time with General Hospital and wish him well in all his future endeavors."
