Kish's Last OLTL Airdate Set
By Jillian Bowe on March 20, 2010

Get ready to break out your hankies Kish fans. The beloved One Life to Live couple's last scene together is set for April 12, according to TV Guide Magazine. Fans will get the last glimpse of Kyle (Brett Claywell) four days later on April 16. The magazine spoke with Scott Evans about Fish's reluctance to step up and admit baby Sierra Rose could possibly be his child. Says Evans,
"There are a lot of angry fans saying, ‘Why doesn’t Fish just man up and be responsible?‘ But they’re missing the bigger picture,” insists Evans. “This is a scary thing Fish isn’t ready for. He’s just out of the closet. He’s just started a new relationship. People take nine months to prepare to welcome a child into their lives. Fish isn’t mentally prepared to take this next step forward.” Adds the openly gay actor: “I can relate in a way. If I suddenly found out today that I was going to be a father, I don’t know what I’d do!”

I didn't understand that they were leaving-leaving. I thought they were just being back-burned. Now I'm pissed. Two of the better actors in daytime in one of the most edgy and dramatic stories EVER told in daytime... I wish we knew who specifically to blame.
And this kind of puts the kibosh on the Sierra Rose story, because we all Scott Clifton is leaving as well. So basically by default, Gigi and Rex are getting a baby. What a stupid ending.
BRING BACK KISH.

The way I understand it, Kyle and Oliver will get Sierra Rose once her true paternity comes out. Thing is they'll end up raising Sierra Rose offscreen, which sucks.

like countless other Kish fans i am not ready to let them go and hope ABC will listen to the loyal fans of Brett and Scott and keep them on the show if only for a short time to give the actors and the fans the proper conclusion to the story that it deserves.....I have been invested in this beautiful love story since it began and feel very cheated that it is ending prematurely when there is still a wealth of storyline potential....the baby storyline was supposedly written for kish but instead was highjacked by Gigi/Rex/sky and we rarely saw them and they were kept in the background and made to look selfish and uncaring about a dying baby that Oliver knew could be his....now after months of waiting to see Oliver and kyle as Parents we are left with one court room scene of them with the baby...how could a story that started out so beautifully end up so badly???.....OLTL has made a monumental mistake in ending it now and releasing the 2 talented actors who brought kyle and Oliver to life in such a real and wonderful way....kish is being used as the scapegoat for the failing ratings but ABC will soon realize just how many new viewers they had brought to the show when they leave with them...they are OLTL's best and most popular couple and if they are smart they will reverse this ridiculous decision and keep them on the show.....

That will be the last day I TiVo/watch the show. I only started watching because of Kish and with all the storylines are dumb lately, there isn't really any reason to watch. I'm also thinking of taking all of the other ABC shows off my TiVo as well.

I want to see Kish change diapers, feed formula for SR at midnight onscreen.
Too bad OLTL killed the couple!
Sad, sad, sad....

I didn't follow them because I don't watch OLTL but with all the wonderful things I've read and heard their fans on the podcast;
I've started their story from where I think Fish started so here I go.... Thank goodness for Utube...
About when did Oliver Fish start?

How stupid. For me, it's not just the fact they are being "written off". It's the fact that Frons/Valentini/Carlivati (I'm lumping them all in because I don't know who bears the majority of blame) did not have the DECENCY to give us the closure that we, as fans invested in this pairing DESERVED. But then again... They didn't give Brett or Scott any either.
After 8 years of watching the show, I think I am done. Other than Kish, David, Dorian and Blair were the only people I cared about. Sadly they're either offscreen or getting dumb story.

OLTL has stupidly thrown away a unique storyline that has brought them new viewers. Some people think it is controversial, but in many ways it is the most honest, loving, and family-oriented relationship on daytime.

As a lifetime viewer of OLTL, I am totally disgusted with the show right now. OLTL has tossed out one of the BEST storylines to come along in years on a soap, the KISH storyline. As a "mainstream" viewers (a middle-aged, married female from the midwest - Illinois), I am sickened by how OLTL has made the "mainstream" viewers their scapegoat for "crapping" all over the best storyline to have come along in years, not to mention its two best characters. In my opinion, this storyline was not a GAY storyline, but one of deep love and commitment between two same-sex individuals. I would rather see any and all of the other characters on this show discontinued before Kish, as I feel Kish is the most realistic couple on the show. I was so looking forward to the Kish baby storyline, only to watch it get hijacked by Gigi and Rex, a couple most viewers hate and want off the show. Instead, TPTB took the BEST couple off the show and left us with RIGI (or T-Rex and Fifi-La Pew) as most viewers are now calling them. Kish brought in a huge viewing audience and after their wonderful love scene, instead of focusing on Kish and running with their popularity (which was both nationwide and international), they chose to shove Gigi down our throats non-stop with Kish being backburnered and only being seen a handful of times since January. Other than taking a baseball bat and cracking it over the heads of TPTB at ABC Daytime and OLTL, I don't know how much clearer fans can make it understood that WE HATE GIGI AND REX!!!! And, we WANT KISH!!!
I believe Scott Evans and Brett Claywell are two of the best actors to come along in daytime in many, many years. They are both so deserving of Emmys for their storyline and acting this past year as I can't think of anyone else who gave such powerful and riviting performances as these two gave us regularly and consistently. It breaks my heart to think they likely won't even be seriously considered because OLTL decided to throw them under the bus and make them a scapegoat for the failing ratings of the show. This, in itself, is a joke because OLTL's ratings had bottomed out long before Kish ever came on the canvas, and if anything, Kish was their biggest and brightest stars for the future. Whoever made this monumental decision to "boot" them has to be the biggest IDIOT that ever lived! Kish was a gold mine for OLTL, and could have been the next SUPERCOUPLE of daytime. Their NYE love scene alone was the most viewed episode ever on a soap, even bigger than Luke and Laura's wedding. They made both national and international headlines in several newspapers and magazines (not just soap magazines) and were the new darlings of daytime! Then the IDIOTS stepped in and decided the viewers wanted to see REX and FIFI LA PEW! GMAFB!! They are, by far, the two worst actors on daytime and the absolute most boring couple to watch ever. They don't even have any chemistry with each other (even though they are a couple in real life). To sacrifice KISH for the absolute and total mess called RIGI was the biggest mistake ever made by OLTL. And, to make matters worse was the way these two young men were notified of their dismissal from the soap (or should I say "lack of" notification of their dismissal). Everyone who has been let go from OLTL has been given at least two months notice prior to their departure. Kish had none.
It was bad enough that OLTL dismissed these two young men at all considering how popular their storyline had become, but to do it in such a horrible fashion literally made me sick to my stomach!
When Kish leaves OLTL, so will I. I have no use for people who treat others like Kish was treated in this situation. Furthermore, ABC will no longer be a network I will watch ever again (whether it be for daytime or prime time viewing) due to the way this whole situation was handled (and ABC has always been my favorite network). In my opinion, the idiot who made this decision should be immediately FIRED themselves, as should the Head of ABC Daytime. If this is the way ABC Disney chooses to do business, then I want no part of the ABC Disney network or its programming! My remote will never stop on an ABC network show ever again. As far as Rigi goes, ABC and OLTL can stick them where the sun don't shine because they are simply "crap" anyway! They should feel right at home there.

This news ruined my day. Can't believe that such a popular storyline is being shut down. I'm a big Brett Claywell fan. He's been fabulous and I don't think I've ever ff through a scene he's been in, and that doesn't happen too often.
I honestly can't believe they're dropping this story.
Very bummed today -

Weeks after hearing about this, I am still bummed out about it. How could they do this to two of the best actors on the show? Daytime TV is supposed to be socially relevant, and Kish definitely were. So sad that ABC caved in to the bigots out there and even worse is how they handled the two actors who both deserve (and hopefully will win) Daytime Emmys.
