After reading the "critique" on "Serial Drama" about Y&R, let me just say that CLEARLY all soap-related blog sites are not created equal....I fail to see how criticizing Sharon Case's hair or referring to Josh Morrow's face as that a "caveman" is either constructive or appropriate.....won't be visiting THIS website again. I have certainly badmouthed my fair share of actors for bad PERFORMANCES, but criticizing someone's physical appearance is just tacky and trashy. If other people want to crawl in the mud, I respect their right to do so, but I refuse to participate. I could've sworn I graduated from middle school a long time ago..........
With that being said, I disagree with anyone who feels that these episodes were silly or ridiculous. I loved both of the episodes at the cabin. I loved Adam getting roughed up (which he deserved for all his lies and manipulations), and I loved the fact that they realized that the only way to even TRY to get the truth out of this dirtbag was by using force and extreme tactics. Adam has been given INNUMERABLE chances to tell the truth, but like any good soap villain, he refused every time. There were lives at stake, and when you mess with babies, you are asking to get tarred and feathered!! I appreciate all opinions, but I am not changing my vote. I loved these episodes, and I will continue to rewatch them on YouTube from time to time when Y&R slips back down to mediocre again, which I am sure it will.......
Colleen Zenk Pinter is one of those actresses who just seems to improve with age, and she deserves a good story. I find it difficult to believe that the writers and producers realize and accomodate Colleen's talents while not giving Don Hastings (Bob), Kathryn Hays (Kim), Helen Wagner (Nancy) or Eileen Fulton (Lisa) the same courtesies. Yeah, these characters do get airtime, and Kim and Bob did have that Alzheimer's scare story a short time ago, but they should still be utilized further, especially with the end coming near. I feel this has more to do with money and budget restrictions than telling a good story. Veteran actors cost more, but they are worth it.....
I have the AMC Anniversary book, and I read about this character, but it seems to make little sense to reintroduce backstory for her and give Tad a long-lost son by her if they aren't gonna bring back Hillary's character for at least ONE episode to explain her motivations!!! Can we at least get ONE scene where she apologizes or tells Tad to go to hell or any variation of the two???? If not, this story is still entertaining, but sloppy at best. You don't bring up a 20+ year old character out of the blue, explain her backstory without actually bringing the character BACK!!!!!
