General Hospital: Perkie's Observations
Performer of the day was a toss up between Lexi Ainsworth and Nancy Lee Grahn. First off,
Kristina: She really is making me schizophrenic. I get so angry when she continues to talk as though Ethan is the one who did this to her, but then she starts crying with those hard sobs and my heart just goes out to her. Her terrified “Dad, please don’t kill Ethan” was really the only time that I thought she might be feeling some remorse or conscience. It’s hard to decide if she’s a spoiled brat who wants her way or a lost child who didn’t expect her actions to have the consequences that they did.
Alexis: I found it strange, with Mac, that she didn’t want Ethan dead because a person shouldn’t be killed, but more because of the effect it will have on Kristina. I get the bloodthirsty part. I would be, too, if someone did that to my child, but Luke is a good friend of hers and his reaction to his son’s death doesn’t factor in at all? On the other hand, I loved her scene with Kristina and Sonny. Informing Sonny, in front of Kristina, that he will not be hurting Ethan and that Ethan will be prosecuted. Then, following that up with an excellent smackdown on Sonny by the elevators.
Line of the day:
Alexis to Sonny: You just don't get it. THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU this time. It's not about what you want anymore. It's about what she wants and what she needs right now is for you to act like a freakin' father. You are not to lay a hand on Ethan. Do you understand me? I am trying to get her to not see you as a monster. You don't cause her one more minute of pain.
I laughed out loud when Dante showed up, not only on the island, but in the middle of the living room with Michael five feet away. Although I wish Dante had checked the other rooms to find Michael, or that he would have said something to Max about Kristina being attacked, which would have gotten Michael out of his hiding spot.
I’m glad Liz told Nikolas that she doesn’t want a life with him, but that they’ll share custody of the baby. Let’s hope Nikolas actually listened to her.
Loved Helena’s scene with Nikolas and Spencer and her insistence that she’s moving in to help.
Funny line of the day:
Helena to Nikolas: So, you’ve decided not to marry the little trollop.
Kate/Coleman: There is just so much weirdness between these two. And yet, it works for me. It’s nice to see some cute, light flirting among all the heaviness.
Sam/Ethan: Sorry, but I don’t think she had the right to go and beat him up. Sometimes Sam, it’s best to take the high road.

Sam McCall is SLOWLY becoming one of my least favorite soap characters!! Her behavior today toward Ethan was childish, unnecessary and violent. If I were Ethan, I would have gone straight to the Port Charles PD to report her abusive behavior. Not that they'd have done much, mind you. This IS the Port Charles PD!!!! They only seem to arrest and/or convict INNOCENT people!!!! Sam is OUTTA control!! Jason actually felt the need to tell Ethan "If you hit her, it's over!"....As if he didn't already know that?? Ethan doesn't have a death wish, people....He's trying to stay ALIVE!!!
Alexis needed to try to slap some sense into Sonny, but she knows it'll never work!! Sonny is determined to self-destruct, and nobody can talk him out of doing so!!!!!
Kate was charming, for once!! She does need to reevaluate her "need" to be a ball-busting boss. I just hate how Lulu and Maxie never stand up to her, but they can stand up to EVERYONE else in town, while being nosy and offering unsolicited advice every five minutes. And is Kate REALLY arrogant enough to refer to Maxie as one of her "APPRENTICES"??? Does she really think that she is in the same ballpark as Donald Trump?????

This show drives me so crazy I have pretty much stopped watching, just keeping tabs on stories via previews and spoilers.
Sonny needs to be kicked back to the dungheap because everything he touches turns to crap. He already has his long lost son lying for him. His only daughter is a liar with criminal frequency. She lied about driving the car which killed Claudia's unborn child. She is lying about her assailant. Sonny threatened to kill an unarmed man -- again!
Would someone get this befouled pig off the show so I can watch it again, PLEASE!

I understand Sam's outrage though. this episode (& storyline) is such a paradox. you wanna beat up the guy that SEEMS to be the perpretrator that hurt your sister yet, you don't wanna use violence to solve the issue because violence is part of what started this whole incident.

Again I love this Story, yes it has troubles But the performance is out of this world....
Kristina made me cry again everytime when she is crying I am crying with her, Yes she is lying but I think she is doing it from fear and scare.....
I am sonny fan I admit, But Alexis was amazing today it did felt when he was talking with Kris that he is putting himself has the victim like this is happening to him and Not Kris, and I am happy that Alexis put him in his place NANCY WAS JUST AMAZING, Poor Maurice I think he was in shock LOL
But I have some troubles with her , She tells Sonny to be the father But she did kept Kris out of Sonny's life , Yes he maybe has some part of this , But there were times when he tried to be with Kris and Alexis didn't let him.....
Again I love My Jason , He was amazing with Kris he was asking her but at the same time he didn't let her feel that he is doubting her he came to her as a family friend and I wish Sonny would have let Jason to go on, because maybe Kris would have finally told the truth....
I also love that he reminds Sonny that Ethan is Luke's son and when he was talking with Lulu he told her he is not sure.....
About Sam - I think she is just mad and upset so she is like Sonny and Jason wanting revenge against the man that she thinks hurt her little sister , I think we all would want to do what Sam is doing to someone that hurt our love one...
I love how Jason came in and told Ethan don't do because if he will hurt Sam this is over Yeaaaaaa
I was so happy of what Max said to Dante Max is my new hero......

Say what you want to about this storyline, but Lexi Ainsworth has been acting her butt off in every scene. She has been so convincing it's incredible that she's this good this young. I hope GH recognizes what they have in this little actress and they don't let her get away too soon.
Also agree the Nancy Lee Grahn has been stellar and I clapped when she was giving Sonny the smackdown. So glad she let she let him know exactly how she feels. The dialogue writers have been doing a bang up job lately, kudos to them.

I haven't been a DIEHARD GH fan for that long, just maybe a year or so, so perhaps it is becoming repetitive to long time viewers.....
I just love seeing Constance Towers on my screen in WHATEVER capacity!!! Her and Jane Elliott!! Sometimes, I feel like they should just put those two in scenes together, throw in Monica and Edward and make the show about those four----"The Four Senior Citizen Musketeers"...I'd certainly watch that show!!
Of course, then they'd have to put Alice in to keep them all in check.......

Alexis and Sonny made me cry, that was a great scene.
I wanted to see Dante say that Kristina had been beat up. Michael needs to be in this storyline.
I had no problem with Sam kicking Ethan's ass, who wouldn't? I did have a problem with NP's acting which has been standing out like a sore thumb in this storyline where everyone else has brought the A game.
Lexi Ainsworth is amazing, did you all see her flinching when Alexis touched her? Poor gal.
I love Helena, she is awesome. I think she needs to look at Spencer as the true heir to the Cassadines because that boy is gonnabe trouble when he grows up.
I could've done without Lulu, she just annoys me especially blowing off Sam like that. I'm sure all the Sam haters loved that but there was no need for the rudeness, none at all.

Sam based on her knowledge of events is acting like any Brother would for his little sister and how any Big sister should feel.
I love how NLG, MB and LA have acted together and I wish this story had remained about them and not revenge, more violent acts and the destruction of long standing family and friendships by one unhappy 16 yr old girl.
Jason despite What the boards are saying is standing by his Lady and doing what she would do. Support, Understand and try to have all the information available to help everyone in pain. She was the one that pushed Jason to keep looking for all answers about Michael during the kidnapping. If she hadn't Michael would never have been found and "saved" from AJ's lies and manipulations of a 7yr old.
To Michele Val Jean, Susan Wald and today's Nathan Fissel and the rest of GH writing staff. Excellent work..I hope Emmy is in your futures for the entire writing staff for 09 and 10.

See now, call me cynical, but I thought that was a put on, to get her mother's sympathies. Others have touched her and she didn't flinch, heck she was even hugging Sonny at one point and she claims to hate him, yet her mother touches her arm and she flinches.
Also forgot to mention, is Sonny's island somewhere near New York, because how the heck did Dante get down there and back within the same episode/day.

Alexis was awesome today. I loved she punched / slapped at Sonny while getting in his face. But I notice they are having her a little more violent. Hope Kiefer doesn't end up dead and Alexis is blamed. No rumour or spoiler here just thinking Alexis is showing her "old" self as when her sister was killed and she killed Luis. But NLG would be awesome to watch.
I am very impressed with the actress that plays Kristina and even the actor that plays Kiefer.
I can also see why Sam did what she did. I mean this is bringing back Sams memories of her treatment by men (which I wish they would delve into more and tell us, like I remember her and Nico and Nico slamming her around and Manny and even Diego threw her around, but it sounds like there was others and she really needs to talk to Kristina about this also OH thats right these are females and they don't get to have stories) Sam may finally feel she is in "shape" to handle any man now. I would hit the guy that hurt someone in my family, I might even want him brusied a lot, could I do it ???? I sure as heck would try but probably couldn't land a real good knock out punch. BUT I am expecting to see Sam apologize later on when she finds out the truth though and they better write her doing so.
Helena was great in the older days and I blame the writing staff now. They have watered down the good "mean ones" like Helena. But I still love watching her. I wish this story with WTD could go for years but I am sure the truth will come out by the time the kid has its first Christmas if not sooner.
Now did I feel sorry for Liz when she cried today. nope. all I thought was "Liz if you want a child with Lucky maybe just maybe you should not be having sex with other men at the same time and you may be surprised and get your child with the father you want". (yes I know the kid is Luckys but Liz doesn't know that).
I am the only one but, I am tired of Dante. I really really hate when we see one or two actors all the time. I really wish they could be more centered like OLTL and AMC. everyone gets to be on. and they seem to rotate them every other day or at least a few scenes of everyone every day. How dang hard is that to do on GH when other soaps can do it.
I am really hating the idea that anyone that knows Sonny or has dealings with Sonny as Coleman, can be on the jury at his trial. hated when Alice and Edward were on the other jury too. no way in hell would any DA let that happen. If they want to write Coleman and others in a few eppys then write for them. Don't yank our chain writers, because this is a crock of dodo

Logistics don't matter on daytime anymore....If anyone watches ATWT, their head will spin by how quickly people jump to and from place to place!! Soaps are so eager to save money and tell their stories quickly that they are moving at breakneck paces just to keep their heads above water financially.
Besides, seeing Dante in a plane alone looking out of a window would have probably been a boring scene, (especially without Lulu to make out with or another character like Johnny or Sonny for him to toss sarcastic zingers back and forth with)...

I was surprised by Dante's arrival on the island. When they first showed Michael, I thought we were going to have round 2000 of Michael trying to get away to confess. Instead, there is Dante. I wish he had searched or at least mentioned Kristina. I was kind of hoping that the trial would start and Sonny would be all confident and in walks Dante with Michael. That I would enjoy.
I find that I don't mind Nikolas in scenes with Helena. It is really only when he is with Liz that I can't stand him. I liked that she said she would share custody. I am against that romance.
Lulu confused me. I may have misheard her or misunderstood. I think she was saying to Jason that she likes Ethan and wants to believe him but she doesn't really love him because she doesn't really know him. I just had the impression from that scene that, if it turns out that Ethan did hurt Kristina, Lulu will understand what Jason has to do. I didn't mind her not talking to Sam. That didn't bother me. I don't think she was being rude to her. Sam jumped on her and said not to defend Ethan. How exactly should Lulu respond? What could she say to Sam?
The Sam kicking Ethan scene was too funny. SHe weighs about 3 pounds and he could carry her in his pocket. He wasn't defending himself at all. Does that seem like the kind of guy who would beat up a teenage girl? Buy a clue Sam!!!! I did have a question though. If Ethan had beat up Kristina, would that make Sam beating up Ethan okay? Could Lulu turn around and beat up Molly? Does that mean Molly gets to pick between Lucky and Nikolas? Where does the violence end?
I really liked Alexis trying to rein in Sonny. Good luck with that!!! I liked her scenes with Kristina. I also thought it was odd that Krissy flinched with her mother but not her father. I just decided that she was hurt on that arm. I didn't really think of it as a put on or show but that makes sense too. She is a devious little thing.

Tracy Quartermaine already has more TESTOSTERONE than most of the men in Port Charles, so maybe it's fitting that her hairstyle is "butch"....When Jane Elliott is onscreen, I don't even notice her clothes or hair! That's how good she is! She could probably kick every man's butt in that town, and she should definitely start with Sonny's and Nikolas'.......
