B&B's Brandon Beemer is TV Guide Canada's Sexiest Man Alive

TV Guide Canada has named The Bold and the Beautiful's Brandon Beemer their 2010 Sexiest Man Alive.

TVG: I think B&B has stripped you down to your nibbly bits more times than any other soap character in daytime history! Do you feel the pressure to keep you body in killer shape?

BB: Yeah. Especially when you’re working back-to-back days. I’m naturally inclined to live a healthy and fit life. I eat well. I go to the gym. But I will admit when you find out your character is going to be walking around in leather pants with the word “indulge” written on his chest, you get a little anxious and nervous. Owen’s supposed to be the face of this fashion line so I have to look like a fashion model. Owen’s job is to sell this Jackie M image. So if I can’t make it to the gym, I do feel frustrated. I wish CBS had a gym at the studio. That would solve a lot of problems for the actors. If that were to happen, we’d be all ecstatic. Having an in-studio gym facility would only make sense. And actors who don’t work out really wouldn’t have an excuse not to be at their physical best anymore. It’s a win-win.

I don't get it, I really don't.  BB looks like an overplucked Ken doll.
I find nothing sexy about a guy who probably spends more time in front of the mirror than I do.

Physically attractive, yes, but has TV Guide Canada seen this guy act????? Doubtful. Shallow beauty contests like "sexiest man alive" do nothing for this industry but perpetuate the notion that everyone is supposed to look like an overgrown Barbie/Ken doll!!! We wonder why Botox has robbed 85% of actors in Hollywood (male and female) of their ability to express emotion in their faces??!!!! Why does the media support these negative stereotypes??

Nevertheless, seems like another spoiled actor COMPLAINING instead of just being grateful to have a job, in spite of his mediocre acting skills.....

CBS Daytime gives these actors PLENTY of money to afford themselves gym memberships, personal trainers and all the amenities that they need to stay fit. Are they now supposed to build a gym in the studio to accomodate lazy actors like Brandon who "claim" they don't have time to make it to the gym often enough???? Spare me.

Be grateful you have a job, Brandon, because there are far more talented and worthy actors out there who could easily take your job.

Brandon is one of the nicest people in the industry, he is certainly not another "spoiled actor'. Do you have any idea how much newer actors in soaps make? Yeah, not a lot. He was just answering a question. He was one of the first stars gracious enough to do an interview with DC, when we couldn't get a PR person in soaps to call us back and he remains a very cool guy. Sometimes I think it's easier to hate on someone than to see things from their perspective. Jesus take the wheel!

alstonboy4315,

I love when people post comments similar to yours.  So I guess you would be okay with Seth Rogen and Rosie O'Donnell types playing all of the characters on soaps?  Please, this is fantasy and physically attractive people are one of the main reasons we watch.  Whether we want to admit it or not.

Jamey,

I did not see your comments while I was making my post.  Thanks for replying, I have heard nothing other than Brandon is a very nice guy.

And as I said before, damn easy on the eyes!  Congratulations Brandon, you deserve it.

Jamey----

I know that soap actors don't make much, but I can't conjure up sympathy for them because they are MILES away from the food stamp line or any level of poverty. I am sure that Brandon is a nice guy, but I am simply not a fan. This may have added to the venomous nature of my comments, but I take full responsibility for my bias. I simply don't believe in glorifying actors (or anyone else)---based solely on looks. I just don't think it's right. I'll take a talented actor who is "average-looking" any day over an "Adonis" who can't act....

SoapFan75---

While I do have the capacity to appreciate beauty, I see no need to place people on pedestals that they don't deserve to be on based solely on their physical appearances, which they have no control over 90% of the time. I feel that TALENT is more important than beauty in the entertainment industry. If the Seth Rogens and Rosie O'Donnells of the world are the better actors, I feel that they should be entitled to get hired before the Brandon Beemers of the world.....it's only right and fair. I know we live in a shallow society, but I choose not to glorify shallow beauty contests that do nothing but objectify people........

If Brandon Beemer were as talented as someone like Tom Pelphrey, Anthony Geary or Maurice Benard, I would have no problem with him being glorified, but I have never been a huge fan. That is my bias, and perhaps I am being rude in saying so, but I don't think he's a good actor. I feel that B&B has hired him mainly because he is "eye candy".....and for few other reasons!!

Can't anyone just have fun? Do people have this much problem with People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive issue? He's attractive, it's all in good fun and he gave an answer to a question. Cut the boy some slack.

OK, I don't necessarily find Brandon Beemer to be sexy or generally attractive (that he was bestowed with the title of "Sexiest Alive" is the personal opinion of one columnist), however I will say that I am puzzled as to why Alstonboy took Beemer's comments about wanting a gym at the studio as Beemer and his B&B co-stars (and Y&R "cousins") being..."lazy"? Even if there wasn't pressure from B&B for his character to look a certain way, he indicated that HE puts himself under pressure to get to the gym (assumedly so he can look good doing the job Bell Productions pays him to do). I think we can safely assume that the life of a B&B (and Y&R) actor is not one where the entire cast and crew comes in at 9AM, breaks for lunch at noon, and heads out the door at 5PM giving them ample time to go to the gym either before or after work. If the actors' call times are early and they stay late (and doesn't B&B tape multiple shows a day allowing them to go dark for weeks at a time to save money?), perhaps they aren't able to leave Television City complex? Perhaps in order to get AND maintain that body, Beemer has to be in the gym for 2 hours every day? If they have down time during their workday, but can't really leave the studio to run to the gym for a few hours, it makes SENSE to install a gym there at the studio. I would have to assume it's probably not a wish for a full-blown commercial gym, either, but likely a large room with some weight machines and treadmills. Also, any employer knows it's smarter to encourage fitness than not so it's ultimately in CBS' best interest.

I don't think his expressing a WISH for a gym at the studio was a "demand" that should have automatically led you to indicate he's ungrateful for his job.

Brandon may not be the sexiest man alive to some but he is very sexy and more than that, he is possibly one of the very nicest people you would ever want to meet and know. Meeting him and spending time with him was such a great pleasure and something I will never forget. Have met him several times and always he is beyond courteous and so sweet with everyone. Would that all people would be this gracious.

Do not understand the need to always pick someone apart for their interviews, he answered what was asked of him. If you do not enjoy his acting, don't watch, some do like him. As far as wishing there were a gym on site, many companies do offer that to their employees and one would think that an establishment such as CBS would also have one. Not a demand, just a wish, is that a crime now too. Geesh people - get a grip.

Actors have so much down time on set that I think he was saying that he could save time and work out when he's just waiting around to film. I find most male actors like to memorize lines at the gym. So it is a win-win.

It's sad that these posts have become sooo argumentative lately.   I feel like most ppl don't allow others to have an opinion and are wayyyy to quick to judge others.  Great for Brandon!

I am sure Beemer is a nice guy and he is good looking...but in terms of acting talent and character importance...he is maybe the most expendable person on the B&B cast. The sole purpose in him being hired and kept on is for eye candy...that has been proven all along as Owen is nothing but a glorfied male model...but even as a soap character he has been boring and worthless since arrival. Beemer is a wooden subpar actor. A younger version of Moss to a certain extent. Bell should get rid of Beemer and bring back Kanan. He is the far hotter and much better actor. Deacon unlike Owen is an important needed character.  Jackie is the only person who could care if Owen was killed off. That is how disconnected he is to everyone. Deacon returning would impact almost everyone in town.

Damn, many of you sure are hating on Brandon. I mean he is an okay actor. If he is as nice as everyone says then give him some slack. The man is trying to make a living like everyone else and he has a right to his opinion regarding a gym at the CBS studio.  It is not that serious people!
