Congratulations to One Life to Live, which tonight took home the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Daily Drama Series, the same week the show's executive producer Frank Valentini decided to stop "advancing story" for the groundbreaking couple that helped them achieve the nomination in the first place. Sorry, still bitter. Kudos to OLTL's head writer Ron Carlvati, Scott Evans (Fish), Brett Claywell (Kyle), Nicholas Rodriguez (Nick), Robin Strasser (Dorian) and everyone else involved in this amazing, if not "mainstream", story.

To add insult to injury they didn't even have their moment to go ONSTAGE to accept their award, since they found out they won via a PRESS RELEASE after the NY ceremony. WTF. But whatever the case, SO HAPPY and PROUD for them. Well deserved win. <3

It was known before the ceremony that their category would be announced off stage. It's not a personal slight. Lots of media shows offer awards at pre-show events.

Congrats to Brett, Scott and Ron! All truely deserve it. The story touched many people. Hopefully the mistake of ending the Kyle & Fish story gets corrected soon, asuming Brett and Scott are both willing to come back.

Congrats!! A unique and beautifully written and acted story! One that I won't ever forget! The combination of Kyle/Oliver/Cris/Layla/Roxy was magic.

They should have taken the time last night to publically voice their disapproval towards the ending of the storyline and the firings. Thanking Ron for the great story and Brett and Scott for their great acting. Maybe showing a video or 2 to show the people there how great the story was. A lot of press were there covering and it would have been a great opportunity.

Honestly, I think Guiding Light should of won over OLTL, not that I don't love Kish but they werent on the whole year, were as Olivia/Natalia was. I realize they never showed a love scene but still...especially in light of OLTL kiboshing them for the "mainstream" viewer.

Well Guiding Light went off the air in September so that's 3 months of the year when Olivia/Natalia weren't on (so Otalia was only on a couple months more than Kish). And I'm pretty sure the GLAAD award recipients were decided before Wednesday's news broke but even if the decision were made after that point, I still think Kish was the most deserving--they pushed the honest portrayal of same sex characters further than it had ever been pushed on US daytime television (and apparently it was too far for those who can handle rapist heroes but not loving gay men).
It is a shame though that there wasn't really any opportunity last night for RC, SE, and/or BC to speak (there didn't even seem to be a press room or anything).
