Degrassi: The Next Generation Becomes Daily Soap!
By Jamey Giddens on March 13, 2010

Network television might not be the safest place for daily serialzed dramas—or their fans— anymore, but it looks like our dreams of cable stepping up to the plate to save our suds may finally be starting to come true. New York Daily News is reporting TeenNick will be trying out the telenovela format for the upcoming 10th season of Degrassi: The Next Generation.

The network will air half-hour versions of the teen drama 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday for six weeks, Nickelodeon President Cyma Zarghami told the Daily News Thursday.
"We're making additional episodes, a little more in the telenovela format, a little bit faster, cheaper and more efficient," Zarghami said. "It will be, I think, a big success."

This show is GARBAGE dont buy into it.

Years ago it taught kids to young adults much better lessons through way better story themes but now, its much more about hook ups.
The Show to talk about is " INSTANT STAR " , VIACOME pulled it from its beloved fan base also involved it contract disputes with Time Warner Cable denied fans of the show a fifth Season.
We fans are stll heart broken over it, 2007 it was announced the last season would be Season 4, shocking actors, etc. as well as its fans.
Total NIGHTMARE...right in the middle of the show before even the stroke of midnight MY TV screne & others went BLACK!
PLEASE CHECK IT OUT, GO to youtube , If you dont know about INSTANT STAR or Tommy & Jude maybe you should.
We want it back help by signing Petitions by i Petiton called

Yeah I heard it season 10 was going to be broken in 2-parts. 48 episodes. 24 episodes (school year) and 24 episodes (summer). If they bring back some of my favorites like Lauren Collins and Deanna Casaluce for guest spots, I'll watch.

Dude someone over at Teen Nick read my blog post! Check out my pitch about how Teen Nick should do a Soap Opera that I made last year!

I cannot wait to see how this project works.
With that said, i didn't look anywhere else for this information, but how is it going to work for Canadian viewers where Degrassi originates from and still airs (and is ahead of USA airings most of the time)?
