General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

I must say, the Kiefer/Kristina/Ethan story is being fairly well written. There was a beginning when Kiefer was the controlling abuser who always apologized and she accepted it. There was a middle with a friendship between Kristina and Ethan. Sam backed him off and Kristina got possessive and slightly stalkerish. Then, Ethan got angry and hands-on in front of witnesses. Sam later found Kristina and noticed the bruise. In the final chapter, Kiefer beats her and Ethan is the likely suspect. The only downside for me is why Kristina became so possessive of Ethan in the first place. Ethan was a bit over the top in his reaction to her. The story would have worked the same if he'd kept it down a notch, but those are just small problems.
Lante got interrupted...again. Lulu, if you're trying to make out with your boyfriend, shut off your phone. Although, I'm not sure I would have wanted their first time together to be on the ground of an empty, dirty loft. Was it just me or did that look a lot like the set they used for Franco's studio? I think that is kind of creepy.
Dante's not back at work yet, so why is Claire hounding him? Doesn't the Federal government have agencies that can track down and locate a missing person? I did like Claire giving the subpoena to CarSon, having them snottily tell her that Michael is an adult and needs to be served directly. She responded by telling them that since he is an adult, she'll charge him with obstruction if he stays away. Carly may have met her match.
I hated Sonny going to Luke to intercede with Lulu on his behalf. You shot Lulu's boyfriend in the chest, why wouldn't she treat you like you're a douchebag?
I still do not understand Spixie and the need for the writers to recycle both dialogue and storylines for them. It's not working and it's time they split up. I like them as friends, but I don't get them in a romantic pairing.
It was good to see Kate again. I wish she'd be less bitchy with Lulu and Maxie, considering the two of them basically run her magazine. I was actually hoping Maxie would collapse so that Kate could realize how bitchy she was being.
It was silly seeing Michael, who's basically an adult now, being babysat by three grown men. He could leave anytime if he really wanted to. Johnny should pick now to hit SaSon, since both main goons and the accountant are on babysitting duty.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It is a little bit creepy, but anything that gets Lante away from interruptions is okay by me. Although it seems like it didn't take long for people to start hounding the both of them. Seriously, at this point, they both need to go away to some stranded island with no phones and no ways of being contacted.

I think the Kristina story is going to be good but I would have preferred that it be that Kristina doesn't identify who hit her and Ethan helps her through it. I hate what they did to the friendship K/E had although I did get Ethan's anger yesterday. Maybe he does have feelings for Kristina and that's why he was soooooooo mad because he knows she is too young for him and doesn't want her around. I also think that he would get that angry because she hacked into his email (who wouldn't). That's an invasion of privacy plus she's underage in a bar which could get them in big trouble.
I too want Dante/Lulu to "do it" in a more romantic setting than on the floor and I'm enjoying the fact that they haven't been able too which would make it better when they do. I also think this whole thing with Kristina/Ethan is going to affect their relationship as well as a lot of people in PC.
Love Kate and this is who she is so I get it. She's a strong business woman and it's not her job to babysit these girls. They have a job to do and I get her being pissed. I'm so tired of wishy washy woman.
Speaking of which, I am loving Claire and only hope they keep her strong and not Sonnytized. So tired of woman falling for this twerp. WHY? If i hear "I didn't know he was my son" one more time I think I'll scream. Can't believe he went to Luke about Lulu. GMAFB Like Lulu's going to listen to Luke.
Dante is sooooooooo right about Michael and that story he told Sonny is true. This lie that Michael is keeping is ruining his life and Sonny and Carly say they love this kid and yet they don't see it. As for Michael, the kid is just a brat always was and always will be.

Oh, and regarding the "handling" of Michael, it seems an awful lot like kidnapping to me! Since he is an adult and is being held against his will, regardless of whether it's for his own good or not, it IS kidnapping. I found it interesting how Carly was all "You both are not sending my son away" to Sonny and Jax, but the minute Jason said "We're taking him to the island" she was like, "Oh okay, but I'll miss him." WTF? Her Jason worshipping is about as bad as Spinelli's is. Why is Jason's word always right? I don't get it. Just like I never got why Carly wanted her boys away from Sonny after Michael was shot, but having Jason around was perfectly fine, even though he was just as dangerous. Not only that, but she makes him the godfather of her newborn daughter, and NOW Jason is getting random messages from crazy Franco, who once was IN Josselyn's room and kidnapped Carly, but Jason says that they both are not in danger????? SO backwards it's not even funny.

I was really in shock at the last scene where Kristina is running on the floor and Kiefer is standing above her , that reaction doesn't happen a lot when I watch TV So for me that Story is good....
I did love the all build up to that I think the writers did brilliant job with that story, and I can't wait to see more..
I love Sam as the big sister mode, she was amazing with Kris , I love her as Kris protector I love the Davis girls and I hope for more scenes like this..
Ethan , Kris was annoying but he should have not grabbed her like this , Sam was right it doesn't matter how Kris was wrong no one has the right to do that...
I Can't wait for seeing Sam and Ethan on monday
Luke and Sonny - the quiet before the storm
I have to say that I love the Mob characters I was so laughing when Berni showed up and stopped Michael , Jason was right LOL
Just a request to GH's people please don't show more of the beat down of Kristina , we already sew Kris face after it ,so I don't really want to see the all scene. Pleaseeee

I loved the show mainly because of Lulu & DANTE but i also like Sam & Kristina scenes. When Sam is NOT with that LOSER,Jason, she is pretty cool. Too bad they are waisting her on him because she would be great with a REAL MAN like Johnny!

That screencap just breaks your heart.
I love the Kristina abuse storyline it is soapy goodness but at the same time it really touches you and it deals with an important issue. Christian Alexander (Kiefer) is the MVP in this storyline. Yesterday he was amazing.
I'm sick of Lante and them not having sex. I thought their scenes yesterday were completely pointless and it really didn't fit in with the rest of the episode. I'm pretty darn close to throwing in the towel when it comes to this couple because they are featured so damn much.

Wow... Those Kristina and Keifer scenes were so real. LA is a great young actress. I could really see the fear in her eyes. After he slapped her and knocked her to the ground and she looked up at him... she had that look of terror on her face, like she knew this time was different and he wasn't only going to hit her once. Then her crawling in the floor trying to get away and him just following her and standing over her... The whole thing was just powerful and made me feel such fear for her. I felt really sorry for Kris after Ethan called her out in front of the whole HS. She had to be told in a way she'd understand, but I still felt sorry for her humiliation. She's just a 16 year old girl and sometimes 16 year old girls don't think straight. Make that most times.
I loved Sam today. I love when she's handling her business, being daughter and big sister. I love JaSam just as much as any fan, but I wanted Sam to have a life of her own this time around, and I'm glad they're giving that to her now. She's gonna be all up in this Kristina beat down story, and she's gonna be pissed!! If I was her, I'd be acting the exact same way with Ethan. He had no right to grab her and bruise her arm like that. Sam has every right to protect her, and I'm glad she did. I also loved that she went to the HS HERSELF to handle the situation instead of calling Jason.
I really enjoyed Sonny and Dante's conversation. MB and DZ have such great chemistry together and they really do look like father and son. I'm looking forward to the conflict between Jason and Dante for Sonny's approval and affections. Up until now, all of Sonny's kids have been really young and not on Jason's level. So, he's been able to have that grown man father/son relationship with Sonny for a long time without having to compete with any of Sonny's kids for that relationship. Now Dante comes along, who is Sonny's real son, and Sonny wants to be close to him and open up to him. I'm thinking Jason won't like that too much. I agree that Sonny going to Luke so he'd talk to Lulu was a little lame. But I am all for anything that gets them in scenes together. Reminds me of the good ole days. BRING BRENDA BACK!!

Kristina's behavior with Ethan was embarrassing. I don't even believe that any teenage girl would set herself for that kind of public humilation. Kiefer was out of control when he finally found Kristina, but any man would be furious if he bought a dress for a woman and she dissed him to wear it for another man. Kristina is a nutjob.
I didn't understand why Claire was ordering Dante to find Michael either. The FBI has thousands of better trained and more competent agents than Dante.
I want Spinelli to be tossed in a corner never to reappear. He is most useless and stupid character in GH's history and that is saying a lot.

Ok I have to be prompted to watch GH so I'll check it out if you say its good I believe that 99.9% of it will be for me. Over the years and several forums, I've come to realize not only do we think a lot alike but I respect your unbiased balanced viewpoint meaning you don't stack the deck just telling it like it is
believe me a lot of bloggers do not...I shied away from this storyline because the writers are not kind to women, so maybe they are nicer to teenagers. I'm also waiting to see Alexis involvement in her daughter's storyline.

Spinelli is the only character on the show with a decent, make that adequate, command of the English language. Sure the writers overdo the geekiness factor, but I understand everything he says. Too bad most the other characters need an interpreter for their own language. Diane and Alexis are at least intelligent and educated. There is nothing on the show a slow third grader couldn't understand with the exception of Spinelli. It's really sad that daytime television caters to such an elementary mental capability.

Unfortunately, I don't think Alexis will have hardly any involvement in K's story, since she so rarely does. Or, she'll be blasted by everybody for not noticing that Kiefer was a douchebag.
One thing I forgot to mention: Why didn't Luke take Kristina home or call Alexis to come and get her. Or mention to Sonny when he was there, that K had been by. Seems rather irresponsible that your friend's kid shows up, dressed a little slutty, gets humiliated, and you let her go home alone.

Random thoughts...
Loving the performances of LA and CA. WOW. The pic for this column was such an incredible moment and knowing whats coming I felt like I almost couldnt breathe seeing that expression on her face.
I dont remember the scene where she said she overheard Luke and Ethan talking about how he might be interested in her if she was older...did that happen?? I took it from Ethan's reaction that it did, because it seemed like that was what set him off. My guess is that if I was confessing an attraction to some teenager I would be embarrassed and a bit disgusted with myself so if thats what he was feeling its not surprising he lashed out. I dont think he meant to grab her that hard. I think the bruise probably happened because he gripped to hard and then she didnt move with him when he started to walk to the door. When she pulled back, BOOM bruise.
FLOVED my girl Sam. Mayador you are exactly right - it was awesome seeing her handle her own business like that and going into protective big sis mode - its one of the things I love most about her, that she is so capable and strong. NP played that scene beautifully - when Sam confronted him the look on his face was like he just felt someone walking over his grave. I would have been shaking in my boots too if I was him. I totally agree with GH Lover that there was NO excuse for Ethan putting his hands on Kristina and Sam was right to back him off.
Claire and Kate - I dont like them getting bitchy but I understand it. Claire knows this is a huge moment in her career and in a make or break moment like that she is sure to be a bit obsessive. Since Dante knows what properties the org. owns I guess she feels like he is uniquely positioned to find his brother. Kate - she didnt know Maxie had been in the hospital - all she knows is that she blew off an important meeting with someone that only she had a relationship with so that she could hang with her unhubbgy. I would be pissed too, esp if my competitor ended up with an exclusive I would have otherwise had.
Carly trusting Jason - she may love Jax and Sonny, but the only person she trusts completely is Jason and given all they have gone through together and done for one another I think its understandable. Yes, she kept Sonny from the boys but let Jason come by, but he was staying away from the boys during that time. Plus, Jason wouldnt have shielded Kate with his body while michael was out in the open.
TPTB had a great story for Spin but they didnt pursue it. I think they should end spixie for now, put Maxie with Johnny and have Spin go back to Matt Hunter to explore the diagnosis Matt made last year. I would love to see how Maxie would react, maybe she would be sad that he was now less Spinelli like, maybe his change in personality might make him LESS interested in Maxie, maybe making her MORE interested in him. With the right potential Spin hook up, might make a good quad, and I would be interested to see what Spin might go through with whatever therapy he had to endure. Hmmm could give us story for Lainey too.
Hated the Lante scenes and yep that looked like Franco's loft. It was totally icky that they were thinking of doing it on that floor as their first time. Yeah we have seen Lizard and Sam getting busy on the floor but there is a big difference when there is a nice fireplace, carpet, pillows, blankets, candles etc. LOL

Yea maybe you should say TO YOU Spixie should end. But not to all. Spixie give me nboth emotional and comedy and the reason i watch this show.
Sonny needs to hurry and just die. And Kristina GTFU and run. Dont crawl to a dam chair like a idiot. And I thought Emily was a dumbass for rnning downstairs into the basement instead of running out the door when she was about to get raped.

Some people are up in arms that she blames Ethan and are paying more attention to that aspect of the story and not the aspect of Kristina getting beat down. I don't think that's what you're doing, but I've seen it written elsewhere. I don't think they're going to play it like Kristina says it's Ethan out of revenge for his rejection. As someone who's been in a similar situation, I know she feels she's at fault for the fact that she got beat down, and has been getting beat down for a while now. She feels like she's not really worthy of Keifer and deserves the abuse, so she's going to protect him out of that twisted loyalty, embarassment, and fear. I think she'll feel very guilty about what this does to Ethan, as I'm sure she's not thinking of the ramifications on his life when she blames him. I'm really REALLY looking forward to how this plays out.
And, EET... As usual, we're on the same page about Sam. If I, for one second, thought some guy beat my sister, and I had actual proof of it the way Sam will, I'd go after him too. She's doing nothing but protecting her sister, which is her right and duty as her big sister. I just love Sam!!!! Our girl's back!!

I must admit that, at the end of Friday's episode, I was in tears. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the writing is just too spot on. I hate thinking that Kristina will cover Keifer's cowardly behind, but this, sadly, is what happens in an abusive relationship.

I don't want to applaud this story too soon because these writers might still decide to have Kristina climb a tree.
So far, I don't think it was necessary for Ethan to have grabbed her like that. I liked that they had a nice friendship going and I thought Sam was right to point out to Ethan that it looked like Kristina had a crush. After that, I think Ethan was a bit too harsh. He could have let her down a bit easier. I also think Sam should have mentioned to Alexis that Kristina has been spending a lot of time with an older guy. I like that the writers let Sam out of Jason's penthouse. Would it be possible for the wardrobe department to perhaps dress her professionally? She caught Kristina at the bar in the Metrocourt where she was ordering a drink. Sam said she was there to meet a client. She was not dressed appropriately for a business meeting in that setting. I understand the impulse to want to confront Ethan but Sam should know her sister is not honest or reliable. She was marching up and getting in his face without knowing the facts. I have a bad feeling that this story will not end with Sam looking too bright. Kristina told her that she had hacked Ethan's email. I hope on MOnday's show, Sam takes a breath and backs off a bit.
I would like a few things from this story. I would like Alexis and Sam to take some responsibility for not being very good examples and role models for Kristina. I would like Sonny to notice that when he throws barware and screams and yells at the women in his life he is setting a horrible example to his daughter. I do not want this story to end with Jason as the all knowing hero. He threatened to kill Sam. That too is abusive.
I do not like GH throwing a PSA at the end of the episode and thinking that makes it just okeydokey to treat women like crap all of the rest of the year.

that scene between Krissy and Kiefer really got to me....especially when she started crawling on the floor.....I really hope they don't get too graphic on Monday...I can't wait to see NLG kick some ass....and of course KeMo...
@GHvetfan...I don't think that after seeing her sister beaten to a pulp Sam would be able to take a breath and back off a bit...I don't see why Sam should have thought that her sister was lying...Kristina did tell her the entire story, including the hacking into the email part....Are you saying that she should have waited to hear why Ethan bruised her sister's arm??? In her mind there was no excuse....

ghaddict - Kristina hasn't been beaten to a pulp. She has a bruise on her arm that she told Sam came from Ethan. How does Sam know that is true? Kristina is a big fat liar. Sam knows that. We know that Ethan did it. I just feel like Sam should not buy every word that comes from Kristina as gospel. I do not read the spoilers so I am sure others know how this will turn out. I do not. I wish Sam had taken a breath and questioned the situation more. I do not understand why she doesn't bring Alexis into the discussion. Alexis has a right to know. I feel like this situation is escalated by the fact that the sisters are not confiding in Alexis. They should have had a family meeting a long time ago.

EET wrote: I dont remember the scene where she said she overheard Luke and Ethan talking about how he might be interested in her if she was older...did that happen??
I vaguely remember her eavesdropping on them at The Star, but I think she deliberately misunderstood what he said to fit her own agenda. I don't think Ethan was actually saying he'd make a move if she were older. But he was talking to his father, so maybe he was trying to justify his friendship with a teenaged girl.
I dont think he meant to grab her that hard. I think the bruise probably happened because he gripped to hard and then she didnt move with him when he started to walk to the door.
I was surprised that he got that angry and grabbed that hard. yes, he'd be pissed that she hacked his email and dumped the other girl, but that amount of anger seemed over the top. I get that they needed it to be harsh, to possibly point the finger at him, but it seemed out of character since we really haven't seen that side of Ethan, ever before. Even when he and Lucky were beating up Dante at Jake's way back when, it was coming off more as a fun thing than an anger or violence thing.
Spin go back to Matt Hunter...Hmmm could give us story for Lainey too.
Whoa now. Matt and Lainey?? But that will take away screen time from Sonny and you know we can't have that. We might forget that he shot his son because he didn't know he was his son.

GHvetfan wrote: . I also think Sam should have mentioned to Alexis that Kristina has been spending a lot of time with an older guy
I don't think Alexis would have reacted with worry. Ethan has come across as a con but a sweet guy, since showing up in town. If Sam had said, "hey, K's hanging out with Ethan", Alexis brought would have thought that was sweet. Now, if K was hanging out with Johnny that would illicit a different reaction.
I would like Alexis and Sam to take some responsibility for not being very good examples and role models for Kristina.
I'm guessing everyone and their mob molls will blame Alexis for not noticing what was going on with Kristina and keifer. Everyone (Carly, Sam, Sonny) will all state how they KNEW something was off with him and how stupid Alexis was for not seeing it.
. I would like Sonny to notice that when he throws barware and screams and yells at the women in his life he is setting a horrible example to his daughter.
Sonny doesn't notice that shooting a cop in the chest is wrong until it turns out to be his son, so I'm pretty sure Sonny won't notice that he's a douchebag.
