Victoria Rowell and "Calysta Jeffries" DISH Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva!

It's about that time soap opera fans. Victoria Rowell's long-awaited premiere novel, Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva will hit bookstores on May 4 (you can pre-order the tome at Amazon.com), that's less than two months away! Judging from the saucy synopsis of the book, featured on the official Simon and Schuster website, we're in for one soaptacular ride!
Calysta Jeffries is the hottest black actress in daytime and the diva of the soap opera world, known for her role as Ruby Stargazer on television’s most popular soap opera, "The Rich and the Ruthless."
After fifteen years, three returns from the dead, two failed pregnancies, one alien abduction, and overcoming retrograde amnesia, Calysta still hasn’t managed to snag the biggest award in daytime drama: the Sudsy. Now is supposed to be her moment. But Calysta’s onscreen/offscreen rival Emmy Abernathy wins the award for the fourth time. The drama begins when journalist Mitch Morelli asks Calysta for a quote after the award show and her true feelings for her costar slip out.
Ripped from the headlines of Soap Opera Digest and straight off of the television screen, Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva will give readers plenty to talk about as they try to guess where the real world ends and Rowell’s imagination begins.
I cannot wait! Check out the hilarious video below where the former The Young and the Restless star and her alter ego Calysta Jeffries aka Ruby Stargazer dish the life of a soap opera diva!

I am sure this is an autobiographical tale, considering the fact that Victoria never won an Emmy---despite three consecutive nominations!!! I think it's a shame she never won!! She certainly deserved it!!!
If you can't win an Emmy, turn it into a book and wait for it to hit the bestseller list......LOL!! That's why we call this America!!!!
I am still waiting for Maria Bell and Paul Rauch to get their acts together and offer this woman a contract!! Lily needs her mother. If Christel Khalil isn't willing to play nice, RECAST the role!!! I am not gonna shed any tears over Christel leaving. Same thing for Michelle Stafford if she's protesting Victoria's return........
Yes, I said get rid of Michelle Stafford. I am a fan, but Victoria is my #1!!!!!! Drucilla, in my opinion, is a far more important character to the canvas than Phyllis is----or ever has been!!!
Who am I kidding??? They aren't gonna get rid of Michelle Stafford. And I am sure that she is one of those three actors on the set that reportedly threatened to quit if Victoria returned to the show. I think that Peter Bergman and Christel Khalil are the other two!!! I guess I will just have to buy Victoria's book and follow her career somewhere else, because Y&R seems to be afraid to rehire her!! SIGH!!!!!

Is there any chance of Victoria Rowell coming back to Y&R? With all the cast changes, can't bring in Vic. There was talk but when the all the salary disputes and there was a dispute of her coming back what happen to that. Lily needs her mother now.

You could not pay me to read anything this egotistical weirdo writes. Most over rated daytime soap actor ever.

Let me start by saying I think Victoria Rowell is a wonderful actress and very talented. Great cook too as I have some of the recipes she shared when she was doing the advertisements for Lactaid in Soap Opera Digest. I have a special fondness for Dru as when I started watching Y&R Dru was just coming on. I remember it all.....her crush on Nathan, the shoplifting perfume from Fenmore's, her illiteracy, ballet interests. All of it.
I am not an employee of CBS so I don't know what the deal is. I have read different things but to quote Judge Judy to me it's hearsay. For whatever reason, they do not want her back. I wish she would stop trying to get herself back on there.
I would like to see Dru climb out of that ravine too but for whatever reason Y&R has moved on.
I would like Victoria to take the advice of the character she used to play which would be something like: If you don't want me, then I will go someplace that will.
That's what Dru would say. Something like that anyway. I am not a script writer but you get my idea.

I remember Y/R "pre" Michelle Staffords' Phyllis I wouldn't give a rat's tutu if she quit.
Krystal Kalil has to be the worse actress I've ever seen in daytime or anytime its a shame she came on as Dru's daughter and she's sticking it to Vic what ungrateful arrogance. I guess she's still smarting in her valley girl portrayal of Lily Winters. Her time will come. I agree I wouldn't want her there if she's not wanted...Y/R isn't the be all.
Love this pic its
I pre- ordered my copy!
Can't wait

I love to see Dru back; Y&R is always praised having African Americans shown in a positive way. Did we ever see a body when she went over the cliff, when don't see a body there not dead, even if there are dead, still come back, but not as a ghost or in a dream they tried that on Gl with Reva as a ghost didn't work and many other soaps.
