GH: Night Shift's Sri Rao Attached to Pen New Bravo Soap From Sex and the City Creator!

Here's a little pick-me-up for all the fans reeling over ABC Daytime's ridonkulous decision to phase out the Kish love story on Too Gay to Live One Life to Live. Cable channel BRAVO has announced it is adding a fifth night of programming to include a series executive produced by Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place and Sex and the City creator Darren Starr. The series just so happens to have a writer by the name of SRI RAO attached to co-write it!!!

Entitled I'm Not Myself These Days, the planned hour-long, scripted soap is based on the New York Times Best Selling memoir by OUT magazine columnist Josh Kilmer-Purcell, and tells the story of a seemingly-straight advertising mover and shaker by day who moonlights as a drag queen. Rao, who won the hearts and message board comments of disgruntled soap opera fans during his emotionally-resonant, character-driven stint head writing the second season of SOAPnet's General Hospital: Night Shift, is set to pen the pilot with his writing partner Emily Branden. Now if we can just land Ron Carlivati a similar escape plan deal!

Thanks SoapOperaFanatic for the tip!

This is great news! I will be tuning in because  Sri Rao is the HW!! I guess my fantasy of them firing Guza and hiring Sri is dead...ah well a girl can still hope.

Good for Sri! GH had a talented writer in their hands and they let him go. I hope this project makes ABC/Frons have feeling of regret, but I doubt that will happen. It's a sad state for soaps these days, but at this point I don't feel sorry. TPTB at all the soaps are digging themselves in a hole by letting talent like Sri's go and by cutting fan favorite, well written storylines (e.g. KISH) because of ego. Soaps are killing themselves Sad.

I assume this show never got picked up. The world of soaps needs Sri Rao. Maybe Days can pick him up after they get smart and can Dena Higley
