You mean to tell me they are using a 30 year old actress to play a 15/16 year old daughter of Ashley?  I know that Ashley in real life is 50/51 and could have a daughter that old,  but all of a sudden they cast someone this old to play the 15/16?  Sure seems weird to me.

They are supposed to age her to mid-20s. Which I could buy..but no way Kyle stays 10.

If TPTB wanted to recast Heather, why not plug Rylan in that role and Riegel in as Mac?? That scenario makes more sense.

Still, it will be good to see Rylan again!

I think they let us know how stupid they think we are when they told us that EVERYONE at Harvard knew Dr. Taylor molested patients and that Dr. Taylor kept Skye's diary detailing his rape of her.

This is much more entertaining than 99% of Y&R these days. They're going to age Abby 10 or more years, in the space of a few months.

What does this mean for Eileen Davidson? She is going to be playing out a story about a newborn baby when she has a 25 year old daughter on the show? 

What does this mean for Sharon and Nick? They have a story about their miracle child when they have a son who, according to the timeline, should be 30 years old?

I know we're supposed to be amazed at the brilliance of Riri and Rauch, as they remind us in their interviews, but whatever happened to that history Riri wanted to honor? I guess it's only wrong when other people rewrite history.

Now that Auntie Ri Ri has made Jamey's dream (Eden Riegel on Y&R) and Luke's dream (Marcy Rylan on anything) come true maybe she could consider my idea -- save the character of Mac while stopping the destruction of one of my all-time favorite GH characters by hiring Rebecca Herbst to play Mac. She isn't the best actress out there but I think she would make an excellent Mac. Hey she is even conveniently really pregnant.

Oh hell yeah! I don't even care about the age thing as long as Marcy is on a soap and that awful youngin playing Abby is out. She's just awful. I'm jumping w/ joy!

Hopefully they are aging all the teens.  marcy can play a 20 year old. She looks the part.

They have to age Noah if they age Abby.

If the soap gods grant my wish and get Diane back on Y&R, they will have to age Kyle.

What I am wondering is are they going to bring on Paul's son?  He could be paired with Abby.

Is Tucker going to have a kid come on that in his 20's and have him paired with Abby?

All I know is, bring on actors like Marcy and Eden will only make the chick who plays Mac and the chick who plays Victoria look even more boring and useless.  I see their days numbered.  Eden's character will get paired with Billy and it will start a Heather/Billy/Chloe triangle.  You know TIIC will play up the fact the actress use to play opposite each other in a popular pairing.

The backstage stuff at these shows is more likely better then the stuff we see on our TV's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont watch Y&R-- but everyone who does was sure Eden was heading to Y&R as Mac-- not Heather.  Now they are saying Marcy is too old for Abby.

I am wondering if Marcy was really in talks to take over the role of Heather-- a role she has the looks for!  Then they were able to grab Eden-- but needed to create something for Marcy???? 

*** I remeber when I heard the rumor that Jamie L was headin to PV-- I was thrilled- as I LOVED her on Savannah & Melrose--- then I read she was coming on to play LIZA- and I felt let down before she even started!  So I could understand where these Y&R fans are coming from with their complaints about the recent recasting

It sounds like the recasting should have been:
Eden as Mac and Marcy as Heather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Maybe there will be some last minute switch-aroos!!!!
Heck Betty White was really hired to play Blanche on GOLDEN GIRLS & Rue M was hired to play Rose.  And look at what a big hit they were when they were cast right!!!  Maybe we'll hear some changes before they start actually  taping

I'm hoping they won't have them fight over Billy, although that does seem likely. To see them go from an interesting friendship/relationship on AMC to see them fighting over some sleaze who doesn't even bother to wear condoms and cheats on woman after woman -- yuck.

The actress who plays Abby is certainly no Meryl Streep in the making, but she is not nearly as bad as Clementine Ford!!!! Again, I ask the same question:  Why is CLEMENTINE FORD not being replaced?????!!! It's like a great big ol' elephant in the room that nobody seems to be acknowledging!!! Who cares if she is Cybill Shepherd's daughter?? Cybill Shepherd is not a BIG star, and her daughter shouldn't get preferential treatment.

I think that Amelia Heinle is a GOOD actress, not a GREAT actress, and her portrayal of Victoria has never worked for me!!! I have been saying it for a long time, Heather Tom and Amelia Heinle should switch places. Heather should come back to play Victoria, and Amelia should go over to B&B to play Katie~!!!!

I like Amelia, and I think she deserves to continue working in daytime (besides, she has TWO young kids, and I am sure she could use a job@!!!!) I just don't think she is doing the role of Victoria justice, but she could totally fit in with Jennifer Gareis and Katherine Kelly Lang. The two shows are practically shot in the same place, so it would not inconvenience either of these actresses to switch!!!

Why is everyone stuck on the age thing? This is soaps, where SORAS has become a necessity. Who cares who old Abby's suppose to be? She's being played by a kick-ass actress. Finally, Victor Newman will have a hell-raising blonde daughter worth rooting for!

I kind of wonder how much longer Chance will be there. They have written almost nothing for him, he's just that dull guy who talks about Riggs.

There were rumors that Abby and Ryder were going to become involved, so now that she's aged, I wonder if that will finally happen.

I'm with the other poster about confused casting.  I know these two women are fantastic actresses, and for that, I'm thrilled they're being absorbed by Y&R.  But it seems the parts both MR and ER are going to play are completely mixed up.  I also think Marcy would be a much better Heather.  By casting her as Abby, this means Nick and Sharon can probably look forward to a much older son when he returns from France.

As for Eden Riegel, I, too, don't understand why she wasn't cast as Mac.  The writers could still completely set up a triangle with Billy that includes her against Elizabeth. 

So while I'm  happy Y&R is getting fantastic actresses, I'm a little disappointed at who they will be playing.  How much longer do we have to wait until they recast or send away Mac?

I think that is exactly why they aged her - to be able to pair her with Ryder.  Also, the actress currently playing Abby (I forget her name) has not been too popular with viewers.
