Tatyana Ali, Crystal Chappell and The Bannen Way All Receive Streamy Nods!

The 2010 Streamy nominations were announced today and many web projects with connections to the daytime soap community received recognition. Venice co-creator/star Crystal Chappell was nominated for Best Actress in a Web Drama, alongside Buppies lead Tatyana Ali. Chappell and Ali will face off against Zoe Bell (Angel of Death), Rachael Hip-Fores (Anyone But Me) and Sophie Tilson (OzGirl). May the best daytime-to-webtime diva win!
The web series to beat in 2009 turned out to be Crackle.com's smash hit The Bannen Way, created by Mark Gantt and Jesse Warren. This should come as no surprise to anyone who followed the sleek, addictively-sexy soap opera for boys, starring Gantt and General Hospital's Vanessa Marcil. The Bannen Way took home seven nominations, including Best Drama Web Series, Best Writing for a Web Series (Gantt and Warren) and Best Directing for a Web Series (Warren).
Former One Life to Live star Nathan Fillion was also recognized by the Streamys peeps. Fillion was nominated for Best Guest Star in a web series for his turn in PG Porn.
I'm more than a bit bummed that Buppies didn't receive more nods, and that the insanely-funny Then We Got Help! wasn't recognized, but there's always next year for a reboot. For a complete list of this year's Streamy nominees click here.

They won't showcase your talent on Y/R but you kicked some serious A in this one girlfriend...
The Bannen Way is just excellent writing and attention to detail, very slick and sassy story re: the mob...story well told and very good chemistry between Vanessa Marcil and Mark Gantt who actually answers me on FaceBk! What a sweetie pie.
